Philadelphia International Flower Show

Philadelphia International Flower ShowExperiencing the Philadelphia International Flower Show is a one-of-a-kind experience, whether or not horticulture is your hobby.

If you’ve got a green thumb, make sure to check out the Philadelphia International Flower Show at least once in your lifetime. The world’s largest indoor flower show features elaborate gardens (of both indigenous and exotic fauna), horticulture exhibits, food, live music, and 200,000+ attendees.

Every year, there’s a theme that ties many of the exhibits together, which are all judged in the Philadelphia Flower Show competition. Past themes include Legends of Ireland, so you never really know what to expect.

The Garden marketplace is a great place to lose track of time during the show, as it boasts flowers, plants, seeds, and other gardening products for sale. As well, those who want to soak up as much knowledge as possible can participate in expert-run workshops and attend lectures.

The first Philadelphia International Flower show was held in 1829.

The Philadelphia Flower Show begins in early March or February of every year and usually lasts more than a week. In 2010, the show will be hosted at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society February 28th to March 7th. See the official site for more details.
