Seattle Family Vacations

Seattle Family VacationsSeattle family vacations provide enjoyment for everyone. In fact, there are so many things to do that the only hard part is choosing.

To begin with, there are many vacation rentals available. A vacation rental is like a home. It has bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and a variety of other amenities. Often cheaper and more personal than a hotel, your family can relax in a vacation home, cook some of your own meals, find a corner to curl up with a good book, park your car, and have easy access to the many sites.

Why Seattle Family Vacations Are a Good Choice

Seattle is a large, fast-growing metropolis, surrounded by gorgeous mountains and near the ocean. An informal, family-friendly city, it has many parks, gardens, and free places to visit. There are restaurants, museums, street performers, ferry boats, and of course, the Space Needle. You can go to Pike Place Market, one of America’s oldest farmers’ markets.

If you want to try genuine seafood near the ocean, go to Pier 54 and eat at Ivar’s Acres of Clams. They are family friendly, offering either dining or takeout. Of course, there are many other places to eat during Seattle family vacations, including a variety of small, ethnic restaurants. Tickle your taste buds by trying something new and exotic, or stick with the familiar and have down-home American fare. Atlas Foods, another family friendly restaurant, has indoor and outdoor seating and serves old-fashioned foods sure to bring back fond memories—or create new ones. In the University District there are a number of coffee shops, places to gather and people watch, or simply soak up the atmosphere.

Seattle family vacations offer skyscrapers and parks, trails and streets, museums and antiques. Remember to check out the Seattle Aquarium, the ferry boats, and, for a little culture, the Seattle Theatre group offers two theaters featuring live stage presentations of well-known plays. If education is important to you, you can visit the Pacific Science Center, the Children’s Museum, and the Olympic Sculpture Park.

For the outdoor-oriented, Seattle family vacations offer hiking in the rain forest or kayaking. Take a day cruise and watch for orcas and sea lions. For a little down time, which everyone needs even in the middle of a vacation, visit the Elliott Bay Book Company. Pick out a book for everyone and take some time to relax back at your vacation rental.
