A short drive from New York City or Boston, or a flight into Hartford or Albany and you're in a new world of peace - Gemini's Place in the Berkshires. Surrounded by tall pines and flowering shrubbery, kick off your shoes and relax on the screened porch with your summer read. Or if you're feeling energetic, you're steps to the lake - swimming, fishing, boating - or minutes to the Appalachian Trail for an afternoon hike.
The Berkshires are famous for their cultural opportunities - musical, theatrical and dance productions - and who could resist an evening picnic supper on the 'great lawn' of Tanglewood combined with a premiere performance of the Boston Symphony or Pops at their summer home.
Many guests take advantage of the Berkshire's fine restaurants but if you prefer to cook, the pantry is stocked with basics so you can spend your vacation funds visiting places of interest like Tanglewood, the Norman Rockwell Museum and Studio, Jacob's Pillow, the Edith Wharton House, the scenic railway, golf courses, secret waterfalls in Mill River, dozens of unusual antique shops and the hidden treasures of Stockbridge, Lenox, Lee and Great Barrington. Come, we promise you'll have a good time!
We're boomers who work hard and play hard. Mr. J is retired from the telecommunications industry and Mrs. J continues providing conference, meeting and event planning and most recentedly added a client for fund development. Work took us to North Carolina but our love is the northeast and our vacations in the Berkshires every spring and fall.
“We first drove into Great Barrington in 1967 on our motorcycle. We never forgot the GB planting as you come over the Housatonic Bridge. In '84 we had opportunity to buy a family vacation place and the cottage was perfect. Close to lake for swimming, a state boat ramp, an airport for private planes and we were in paradise. Our sons loved exploring the woods, stream and nearby waterfall. Now it's our grandsons who explore. The cottage is waiting for you, too.”

“The cottage is nestled in a quiet vacation community. Sounds of bird calls and the hum of boats from the lake tell you you're on vacation. No need to scurry for email. Instead, pick up a book, take a nap, go for a swim. Leisure is the name of the game at Lake Buel. But if you must do email - the house boasts WIFI. So come and enjoy!”
