About the Owner
My husband and I grew up on Long Island, New York and longed for a place that reminded us of our beach there. We stumbled upon Tybee Island while vacationing at Savannah and fell in love with it immediately. When we vacationed on Tybee we kept getting fooled by rentals that looked nice on the web, but turned out to be old units with broken furniture and smelly carpeting. We decided that if we had a rental condo, we would make it the most beautiful place we could for others to enjoy.
We were so lucky to find this great place so close to the beach and everything else. I loved decorating it and painting it so you will feel at home here. We know you'll love it as much as we do!

Our Tybee Island Visit
The rental company constantly monitors the parking spaces and building to make sure there is no parties, noise, or parking problems. We can't control someone illegally parking, but the police are very responsive and will tow if needed. They can't do anything about it if they aren't notified.

One word: Cockroaches!!!
The drinking cups are plastic and warped by the dishwasher. the only sauce pan was a small, rusted pan. It was awful. Some of the utencils were melted also.The only "spices" that were in the house were salt and pepper, so bring others with you. If you find crushed red pepper, it's mine!! The pool is private to the condo, but while I was there, the neighborhood kids were in the pool. The fixtures in the bathroom (guest) were loose. The curtain hanging in the guest bedroom near the slider is all ripped at the bottom.
The main problem was "cockroaches". We noticed one the second night there and then 3-4 the next night. Called the office and someone came to spray the unit. He sprayed the bathroom and behind the dishwater as there were two seen among the dishes!!! For the next few days, maybe saw one or two, but did see some on the last day. I didn't pay all that money to share the unit with roaches! Even though the unit was lovely, I would not rent there again. If I were you looking at my review, take is seriously......the roaches were there!!!!
--upon inspection, there were two plastic drinking cups that were not perfect circles. There were, however, a full set of glassware including full and juice glasses as well as 8 wine glasses.
--the small sauce pan (one of the 7 pots and pans in the kitchen) did have some rust and was replaced. If the guest had called the management service, they would have replaced it right away.
--we don't advertise a "fully stocked" kitchen with herbs, spices, etc. You will find salt, pepper, cooking oil, sugar packets and powdered creamer there though--
--the "neighborhood kids" in the pool were actually relatives of guests upstairs from the unit staying at a house down the street. Since they were relatives of guests, they were allowed to use the pool
--there is a repair service available 24/7, but yet the service stated that this guest did not call them about the fixtures or the curtain. Had they called them, the problem would have been taken care of promptly as all guest's requests are. --
now to address the "beach bugs". The contract signed for the rental is a standard one that is used for over 100 units on the beach. It has a specific paragraph dedicated just to the beach bugs. It states that to help this situation, the renter agrees to keep all food in closed containers and no food will be left out in the bedrooms etc. This may not have been followed. It is par for the course that if you stay at the beach, you will see a bug. This unit as well as all 6 units in the building are attended to every month to avoid this problem. I contacted my other neighbors in the building after I read this review and no one has had any issues like what was described at all, and two of my neighbors live there most of the time.
--- The unit was rented for 7 days, but yet the agency, other than being asked to "spray for bugs" had no idea this guest was unhappy. They stayed the entire 7 days and paid in full without notifying anyone that they were dissatisfied. The agency was very surprised, in fact, when I showed them this review as they are always attentive to the guests and certainly would have done whatever it took to make them happy. I would have liked the opportunity to address this guest's concerns at the time. However, since I was not given the chance, I can only respond to this review."

“Tybee Island has something for everyone. The thing that Tybee has that the other Georgia coastal islands don't have is a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone feels welcome and no one is a stranger. The beach is perfect, but there's so much more to see and do here.. It's also so convenient having Savannah in such close proximity. Just a short ride and you're downtown!”

“We have stayed all over the island, and we keep coming back to the same opinion: that the location of this condo is the best there is. We are situated around the corner from all the 'action' at the south end of the island, but we are located on a quiet street, so we can enjoy a peaceful evening sitting on the deck if we choose. The indoor pool is a plus when it's raining and our kids want to swim. We also have been here with other adult couples and the jetted area is great for relaxing as a group. I feel very comfortable letting my teens walk around by themselves and get an ice cream cone or ride their bikes aound the quiet streets or on the beach. It makes for a great vacation for a family or just the two of you. 201 Duneside is extremely clean and fresh smelling because it does not have any carpeting-just Italian tile. This is great for those that are allergy sensitive or for those who just like a clean feel to where they stay. All the appliances and furniture are new and strictly maintained to avoid renter's frustration. My husband and I were always disappointed with the rental units we stayed in before we purchased 201 Duneside because they were not well maintained. The pictures did not match the actual property once we arrived. I assure you this will not happen when you rent this unit. Thanks for your interest in 201 Duneside!”
