House, 3 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 12)

Camp Willow Cottages are located on the Lake Dunlap. Lake Dunlap is part of the guadalupe river. It is a constant level lake designed for skiing, lounging and swimming. 2 1/2 acres of lush green lawn with many 100 foot tall trees. We have 450 feet of improved water frontage with new fishing dock/pier. A great place to fish, swim or just relax. small boat ramp

It is a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood setting-away from all the crowds.

Our Camp House is a casual lake house. It is the original farmhouse built on the property that I have renovated but it is still a quaint, eclectic house. We are pet friendly. It is 3 bedroom/2 bath and sleeps 12+people. It includes a wonderful deck on the front that overlooks the water, patio furniture shared bbq grill. Free usage of washer and dryer in house. House is fully furnished with all bed & bath linens and kitchen utensils/dishes/pots/etc. Nicely decorated in a nautical/fishing motif. Comfortable and rustic casual.

We are located within 5-10 minutes of Schlitterbahn, the Comal River, the Guadalupe River and Gruene Hall.

A great place for families and reunions. We have a launching ramp on site so bring your jet ski's or boat.

Also 2 cottages (sleep 8 each)

We also have the Red house that sleeps 10.

So the entire property can sleep 38.

PERFECT Family Trip Destination

  • 5 of 5
We rented two of the houses on the property and everything was just as expected. If you communicate well with owner she will happily give you updates and any info you need to feel comfortable with your choice. The place was clean and absolutely perfect, if you want up close - private lake front with no traffic, this is the place. We have reserved again this year summer 2015 and look forward to it!

Think twice before renting this one!!

  • 1 of 5
Not as advertised. When we rented it, it was advertised to have kayaks and john boat on property to be used. When we arrived there were neither. After contacting the rental agent she explained via text that the kayaks, boat, and gas grill pictured on deck were all stolen last month and the owner would not be replacing them. I explained that the property was advertised with these items and I expected them to no avail. The house was not clean at all. The shower curtain has not been changed or cleaned in some time (lots of mold). The dishwasher had water standing in it that was slimy and had a horrific smell. There were many other cleaning issues. The kitchen is NOT well stocked. NO pitcher to make tea, insufficient glasses, etc. What was there was dirty. We were told we would have to use a grill that was located on another rental property that was attached. That was a bit tricky since the other renters were using it plus a little uncomfortable having to try to share and feeling like you were intruding upon their vacation. I tried talking to the rental agent while we were there (she would only text - would not answer phone calls) about some of these issues. When we returned from our vacation, I finally was able to reach her via telephone and explained how disappointing this house was. She stated she could not make the owner do anything about it but she would try. She also told me she edited the advertisement for the house taking off the kayaks, boat, and other water toys as had been advertised to me after I told here I felt this was false advertisement. To date, there has been no effort to make this right on their part. Their attitude is that they cannot help the things were stolen and I would just have to make do with what was there. My family does a family vacation inclusive of a rental property every year. We have always had a wonderful time and been pleased with the properties. This is the first time we have run into these kind of problems and the "OH WELL" attitude we received.

Accurate description and exactly what my large group was looking for! Plenty of sleeping space, nice patio to hangout, waterfront, bonfire, washer and dryer, and 8 minute drive to rent tubes to float river. Deposit was refunded quickly. Would rent again!

Amazing property

  • 5 of 5
We just recently stayed this past weekend and it was absolutely amazing. The house was amazing and everything was clean before our arrival. It was perfect for group and the location was perfect for rockin R to pick us up. This was our first year to actually stay in a house and it made it the best vacation ever. We floated for the two days but it was nice to come back and hang out by the lake and not have to drive anywhere. It felt like a home away from home we will definitely be coming back next year! The houses looked just like the pictures. We were definately happy.

Cousin Retreat

  • 4 of 5
We recently rented the Camp House at Camp Willow Cottages. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and thought that the Camp House was a lovely place and met our needs quite nicely. However, I feel there were things that should have been taken care of prior to our arrival, mainly cleaning issues.

We found the house to be in generally good condition with most of the normal amenities. It was evident that the house had had a basic cleaning performed before our arrival, but appeared it had not had a "deep" cleaning in some time.

The following is a list of things that should have been attended to prior to our visit:

1. Cobwebs in various places
2. Ceiling fan in the kitchen was very dirty (full of grime and dust)
3. Deep layer of dust on ledges above stove and other areas
4. Patio cushions so dirty we couldn't sit on them without a towel
5. A/C Filters cleaned (smelled heavily of mold)
6. Dishwashing soap - there was none, we had to use hand soap
7. Adequate supply of toilet tissue
8. Check to see if lightbulbs need replacing (several were out in the lamps)
9. Bath soap (there was actually an open/used bar in the back bathroom - with a hair on it-ugh!)
10. Linen closet - That was the biggest eyesore of all. Quilts, blankets, sheets, etc, were just thrown inside. Needs to be organized and neat - most were unfolded and wadded up, which looked very messy.
11. Basic minor repairs inside house (i.e., missing corner tile on counter and wooden tile above stove)
12. Coffee maker needs to be cleaned with vinegar (brews coffee one drop at a time - very, very slow).

According to the rules set forth in the rental agreement, there seems to be high expectations of what the tenants are responsible for before vacating the premises. We paid a mandatory cleaning fee for post-cleaning services, so I don't feel like we should be responsible for any of the cleaning(i.e., cleaning and storing dishes, especially since there was no dish soap provided). Nor do I feel like we should have been responsible for stripping the bed linens. We certainly wouldn't be responsible for this in a hotel, or a Bed & Breakfast, and isn't that what we paid a cleaning fee for? The chair cushions on the deck need to be cleaned. A suggestion, perhaps protective covers should be used between renters, or after use, place cushions inside the house or a storage bin. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves and the location is in close proximity to local attractions.I would still recommend to others.

Location

From the Owner

I purchased the property as an opportunity to retire early. The property is the most beautiful piece I have ever seen. It reminds me a lot of Landa Park with large green expanses and huge trees everywhere. The water is what attracts me the most so I do have aboat.

Amenities

From the Owner

The property is to die for. It is our best feature. It is so beautiful. 2.5 acres of a park like setting, lush green lawn, huge trees. I have 650' of improved water frontage with a cement walkway along the water. Launching ramp on site with dock for jet ski's or small boat (19' max). Quiet, serene, a great place to decompress and relax.
