Guestbook comments from the owner

We enjoyed out stay. The cabin has everything we needed and the view is wonderful. We saw lots of wildlife in Cades Cove & enjoyed Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, but we had the most fun here. Family time & the hot tub.

Thanks Ms. Jane & Mr. Andy for sharing this cabin with us. WE CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK!!!

PS - Gloria loved the air hockey table

Felt like Home

We went to the mountains to get away from everything and the DayDreamer Cabin met these needs. We were far away from everyone, but yet close enough to get to the resterrants in just a few min. Easy to locate and very nice. We will definitley stay here next trip as well.

Owner's Response: Great guests. Just wish they had the same weather we had the following week. My wife & I went up that week for our anniversary (39 years) & her birthday (unspecified years). The night before we left, we had a light snow which was enough to add a little color, but not enough to cause driving problems. This was also the 1st time I was able to use the newer & larger hot tub that we added. Great guests & glad they enjoyed the cabin.

Very Home Like

Andy, the owner gave us good directions and lot's of information to make our stay fun. Very homey and the bed's are very comfotable!! I truly believe the owner and cleaner's are there for you if you need them ! I really liked the people that clean as when I called , he walked me right through the minor thing's I needed to know, and offered to come to the cabin if I needed him. More attention need's given to dusting...Over all we loved the place and believe if you want a place in the mountain's ( great view ) that isn't over priced it is a good deal.

Owner's Response: Glad they liked the cabin. Really nice guests. Most people don't take the time to acknowledge the hard work by the cleaners & others who make their stay a pleasant one.

Very comfortable cabin

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I spent three nights in the cabin and we really loved it. The bed was comfortable and the cabin was as advertised. It's just a couple miles out of Pigeon Forge and very close to entry to Great Smoky Mountains national park.

We enjoy our stay at DayDreamer Cabin. The Cabin was very Peaceful and Private. The view of the mountains from the back deck was spectacular. The cabin was clean, cozy and comfortable. The drive up to the cabin was exciting and beautiful with the changing colors of the trees. Andy was extremely helpful and nice. He was great with all the help he gave us. I recommend this cabin for your stay. In fact, we can't wait for our next stay at DayDreamer.

Mosty as described-needs better cleaning and maintainence

  • 3 of 5
The pictures and description were mostly accurate and the issues we had could have been just timing and the prior renters. The owners were nice and very helpful. They live out of state and that might be why we found the place a bit dusty and we had a problem with odors. For 3 nights we paid $100 less than the next cabin quoted and if the steep drive would have been the only issue I'd have rated them 5 star. We had the opportunity to look at other cabins that were cleaner and a little better maintained. Small issues like the screen wasn't tight so opening the windows let in the bugs...the side rail on the hot tub was on the ground and had been reattached several times, leak-roof or plumbing. Hot tub/kit kitchen clean but the bath tubs all had dead bugs and the place smelled bad when we arrived. The air was on high and after putting 2 + 2 together I think the person before us drank too much and vomited on the bed and floors. We couldn't use the ceiling fans because when we did the dust rained down in clumps. Visible spots were cleaned well but IE the stool in the bath over an uncovered vent was dusty on the bottom (piece between the legs) and when the fan was running blew dust up into the room). It was only in a few spots (the rest was clean) but enough to set off my husbands allergies. The bed was very comfortable but I couldn't figure out what the odor (strong) was until in the morning when I changed and smelled my pj's they smelled like vomit. I think because of the amount of beer cans and glasses on the lawn and in the front yard the people before us drank too much and threw up on the bed and floor). I think they changed the sheets but didn't wash the mattress pad causing odor. That or musty-appeared to have roof leak above bed. floors were a bit sticky also-looks like when they mopped they didn't get very close to the baseboards (a build up of dust indicates that). The back deck wasn't swept -debris on my feet when getting in the hot tub. We couldn't find a broom so I just didn't use it the rest of the weekend. We also couldn't all fit on the bed in the loft and my husbands allergies were bad so he took a blanket and slept on the rocker on the balcony-couch had odor so I slept with my granddaughter in the loft. Not easy for her to sleep up there when we had the TV on since it's open but we couldn't watch in the bedroom so early nights for us. The odor and lack of tv channels except in the main room (very few). Loved air hockey table/view.

Owner's Response: Interesting thing about this review is that they are claiming that the cabin wasn't clean, but the guests before them checked out about 2 - 3 hours before these guests checked in & the guests who checked out wrote a review that said the cabin was very clean. I also called the maintenance man about what they are calling a "leak." The maintenance man said that they only rain they had was just a mist & not enough to get the ground wet, so didn't understand how there was enough raing to cause the roof to "leak." He checked the cabin & couldn't find any sign of a leak. There are some steaks on the wall from when the cabin was built & they used a stain on the wood which has run down the wall in some places. I painted over most spots & restained some spots, but if you look hard enough, you can still make out the dark stain in some places under the white paint. There's also a water stain on the wood above the bed from where water would seep down when guests didn't put the shower curtain inside the tub when they took a shower. I caulked around the tub about 3 years ago & haven't had a leak since then, but the stain is still on the wood ceiling downstairs. Cleaners checked for "vomit" smell on bed & found nothing, but washed mattress cover when they changed linens any way.

Great cabin & owners

Great cabin & owners

This was our third time staying at Day Dreamer! As always, the cabin was great! They knew it would be late when we arrived & left the light on for us! The cabin is always clean & very homey! We love the location, close to shopping but most of all close to Cade's Cove! We went every afternoon close to dark & saw bunches of turkeys & monster bucks. We love wildlife. Saw no bears this time but seems like everyone did. When we go back hopefully Day Dreamer will be available! Also, Andy & Jane are wonderful! Ann
