Furnished 3 Bdrm Home Near Port Orchard Water Front, Pet Friendly

Centrally located for both work and play, this three bedroom Port Orchard house is perfect for temporary housing needs. The views from every room are enhanced by the beauty of nature, creating a sense of serenity: The Olympic Mountains, the water, the surrounding, a lush green belt in the private canyon behind the house. For your added comfort, the house has a huge patio with outdoor seating, and an expansive lawn. A deck off the kitchen enhances quiet observation of wild life. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature, yet be close to the amenities of larger cities.

The house is about an hour from Seattle by ferry or freeway. It's located within two blocks of the Kitsap County Administrative Offices and Court House; and it’s a fifteen minute drive or ferry ride from Bremerton. It makes a great home base while you take care of legal matters, explore Puget Sound, visit family and friends, go house hunting, and/or transition to a new job.

Well behaved children and dogs are most welcome.

The family style kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, dishes, flatware, toaster, coffee pot, microwave, stove, dishwasher, and a kitchen table for four with a view! The dining room table will easily accommodate six. China, stem ware, and candles are available for special occasions.

The living room is in the center of the house; it has a comfy leather sofa, recliner, and side chairs, plus a fireplace and HDTV.

The house has three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. There is a double size bed with a walk-in closet in the second bedroom. The third has a twin size bed plus a desk so the room can also be used as an office. Wi-Fi is provided. The beds are freshly made and towels are included for your convenience.

Grocery stores, salons, gyms, restaurants, movie and live theaters and even a 24 hour Urgent Care are located with two miles of the house so you don’t have to go far for anything you might need. McCormick Woods Golf Course, Trophy Lake Golf and Casting Club, and the Gold Mountain Golf Course are all within a six mile radius.

Enjoy a meal, entertainment, or wedding reception at the McCormick Woods Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar, or drive down the Port Orchard waterfront for dinner at the Light House or Amy’s on the Bay. Live theater at the Western Center for Fine Arts, located near the Marina is fun, as well as the local Farmer’s Market and Antique stores. Be sure to take a scenic ferry ride to Seattle for a day of shopping, Pike’s Market, and/or ride the mono-rail, to check out the view of Puget Sound from the Space Needle. Additional day trip destinations include the Olympic Rain Forest, Ocean Shores and/or Mt. Rainier or Mt St. Helen’s. The Kitsap Transit and the WA State Ferry System can take you on scenic journey to The San Jaun Islands, and British Columbia.

About the Owner

After teaching for thirty four years and maintaining cars, airplanes and properties for even longer, we have retired to a life of creating 'home'(s)along the west coast and sharing with others. Our Port Orchard home is a keeper! When we are not working on a home, in a yard, or on the computer, we are enjoying grandchildren, traveling, reading, walking with friends or 'workng out' at the YMCA.

Port Orchard Thanksgiving get-a-away

  • 4 of 5
The only thing missing was a coat rack!! This place had all of the necessary items for a great home-stay. Well-located right above the touristy downtown, it afforded us easy access to all of the Black Friday sales. Dog-walking was easy through the peaceful neighborhood where this house is located. Plenty of room for our family get-to-gather with 3 well-furnished bedrooms. Plenty of everything and very clean. Close to Bremerton where we visited the USS Turner Joy and took a self-guided tour of this Naval destroyer. Thanks, Lorraine. Great VRBO rental.

Great place to stay when visiting Port Orchard.

Two of my sisters, a nephew, a niece & I stayed at this lovely vacation rental home. We loved it! Unlike a hotel room, we had lots of space and privacy. We enjoyed being able to cook some of our meals there at the house; there's pots, pans dishes & much more. This home was perfect for my sister that has trouble walking; there are no steps/stairs inside or out. The home backs to woods which gives it a beautiful & tranquil setting. When we go on vacation we love playing board games and work puzzles. This home has an attractive large table that we gathered at & had lots of fun! We definitely will stay here again sometime!

Owner's Response: We feel fortunate to be able to offer comfort, privacy and convenience to our guests at a very reasonable cost, considering what we have to offer. Whether it's for work, play, adventure or sheer relaxation, the feeling of home is always important.

Nice peaceful clean home

  • 4 of 5
Lovely house – spacious, warm, inviting and comfortable. As other reviewers noted – peaceful yet only 5 minutes to downtown Port Orchard so conveniently located. There is only one bathroom but it is large and well-stocked with plenty of plush good quality linens. For those of us who like to cook the kitchen could be better stocked (e.g. missing some basics like measuring stuff, grater, baking pans, etc) but it’s functional. A little short on the wine glasses but lots of coffee cups!

One of the best things about this house is the deck out back which is very private and exceptionally peaceful. From the deck you overlook a greenbelt area with gigantic beautiful trees (we live in Montana but don’t often see trees this tall), lots of birds that sing and chirp, and deer. You can also see this view from windows in the kitchen and breakfast nook area.

TV is wonderful – huge, modern flat screen with good selection of channels including local (we like watching the local news channels when we travel, informative). Owner needs to leave instructions on how to operate the TV remotes. There were 4 of them – a little confusing but we finally got it figured out.

I downgraded this by one star because the internet in the house does not work well at all. Owner needs to upgrade the router and the service. If you’re using phone or IPAD to access internet this is a non-issue but for people like me who travel with their laptops & sometimes need to do work research on the internet we need strong, reliable, fast internet in the home. That’s not the case with this house. It was so excruciatingly slow (felt like the old days of “dial up”) that it was impossible to load most sites such as google maps, weather channel, trip advisor, etc. Took 10 minutes just for the Yahoo mail sign in page to come up, another 5 to sign in and finally get to my Yahoo mail but unable to ever get any emails sent. I gave up and went to the Starbuck’s at Safeway a couple miles away, ordered a coffee, and sat there for a couple hours every day to get my work and travel research done.

Overall except for the internet situation this is a very good VRBO property, photos and description accurately match reality and it was REALLY CLEAN and that is always extremely important to me when I stay at these types of homes. This was probably the cleanest home I’ve ever stayed in. Owners are responsive and refund of deposit was right on time.

Owner's Response: Wave internet service seemed to be having malfunctioning issues in the area at the time, but I think the problems have been resolved. We went ahead and upgraded the Wi-Fi service anyway. We've also added measuring tools, baking pans and more wine glasses. We appreciate suggestions from our guests.

This was a perfect home for our mini vacation. Perfect size home for us and the 2 kids. May get a bit tight if you have older kids, but was perfect for our 2 teens. Conveniently located close to town and in a very quiet neighborhood. Neighbors were very nice and friendly. Great location for an early morning walk to start the day, and if you are up for the challenge, great exercise climbing the hill from town.
The house itself is quite cute. All the necessities are already there, just grab a few groceries and all else is already in the home.
We took our dog with us and appreciate finding a pet friendly home to stay. Only issue with traveling with a pet here is the lack of a fenced in yard. Not a big issue with us, but if your pet needs to be outside and unattended, it will need to be tied in the front. Other than that, very accommodating home in all aspects. Would recommend it for anyone coming to the area.

From the Owner

One chief advantage of staying here is the price: It is very inexpensive for what you get. Also, access to downtown Seattle via the ferry is simple, yet pleasurable with fantasstic scenery along the way. Best of all the house is clean, comfortable, well equipped and very peaceful.
