Awesome Vacation Getaway in Columbine Lake!

Awesome Vacation Getaway in Columbine Lake!

Property Details

Updated: Dec 2, 2014
4 Bedrooms - 3 Baths - (Sleeps 11)

We welcome you to our mountain house! Our extended family has had wonderful times here and we hope yours will, too. We are proud of the condition of our home and hope you will enjoy the moose theme. In fact we have seen real moose on more than half of our visits! It's the perfect place to enjoy nature without roughing it.

Moose Hus is fully furnished so you'll feel right at home. The large living room and dining area with cast-iron gas stove and cathedral ceiling is the place where everyone gathers for TV(HD), DVD, games, and conversation. The modern kitchen is conveniently nearby.

In winter, enjoy snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, skating, and sledding. In summer, participate in hiking, boating, fishing, horseback riding, golfing and picnicking. You might even find it interesting to walk through the historic Grand Lake cemetery.

Enjoy your stay!

Grand Lake Rocky Mountain National Park
Akron, PA, USA

Summer Vacation July 6-13, 2009

This house was just right for our family of 12 (9 adults, 3 children-12,9, and 3). Great living/dining space for everyone to relax and do their thing. The kids used the loft for reading and playing. The bedrooms are all good size. We never felt cramped. The kitchen is well equipped. The cabin is beautifully located in natural pine setting. Lots of great hiking trails. The unpaved streets in the Columbina Lake neighborhood are wonderful for early morning and late evening walks and jogs. The owners are very congenial and easy to work with.

Excellent Experience

  • 5 of 5
We really enjoyed our stay at the Moose Hus! The house was spacious, very clean, well maintained, and comfortable. We were so glad to discover that there are many scenic places to explore within a short driving distance including Rocky Mountain National Park. We saw plenty of wild life including moose and elk from the deck of the house! The owners were very helpful and easy to communicate with. We highly recommend this property and look forward to our next visit.

Moose Hus is the perfect getaway if you are visiting the Grand Lake area. The house has plenty of space and easily accommodated our large family group with 3 floors of living area. It is beautifully decorated and well maintained. Very close to Rocky Mountain National park with great access to hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. We had an awesome time at this mountain paradise.

Wonderful home

We loved staying in this beautiful home. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. It is set up so well with three floors so you can spread out and have some space if you want it. It's close to Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain Park with plenty to do. We highly recommend staying here and are looking forward to going back.

Wilderness paradise

Moose Hus is a perfect place to stay in the Grand Lake area especially for larger groups. This well-maintained and aptly named home is ideally situated in a residential area with plenty of wildlife to enjoy viewing. The house is close to town so accessibility to Grand Lake is excellent without being in the hustle and bustle of the village; superior access to the Grand Lake entrance to RMNP. The home itself has a wonderful deck for relaxing after a long day of high country adventures. The interior is decorated tastefully and roomy. Kitchen is well-equipped and the house comes with multiple entertainment options (tv, video, games, etc). All in all, we had a tremendous stay at Moose Hus and would do it again without reservation. Owners were easy to work with and accommodating. Thanks Julie!
