About the Owner

The mountains are the calming factor of our lives, both working in retail for more than 20 years, the only place my husband can relax and unwind. Fishing and mountains within 20 minutes of the cabin, his ultimate vacation spot. For me curled up on a cozy couch, hot chocolate and a good movie with the warm glow of the fireplace is just perfect. Or curled up with a warm blanket on the covered front porch watching the wild turkeys and birds come into the property, heaven, that's all I can say.

Holiday Heaven

What a terrific time we had staying at Stag's Leap the first week in December. The cabin was beautifully decorated for Christmas both inside and out. The owners have made sure all the necessities and ammenties were there to make our stay perfect. Beautiful scenery outside and a short easy drive to restaurants and attractions. Gatlinburg is 30 minutes away. The cabin is so cozy that you will find it difficult to leave. We would definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us at our 2 bedroom getaway cabin, especially at Christmas time. Even more special was the snowfall you woke up to at the cabin. The area sparkles for the holidays along with our cabins, just a magical time to visit the Smokies. Merry Christmas!!

A Charming Cabin….Even More Beautiful Than The Pictures!

  • 5 of 5
Our family spent a week at the beautiful Stag’s Leap cabin in August. The wonderful owners, Carolyn & Chris were so accommodating and extremely helpful. They made our first experience renting a cabin enjoyable, easy and carefree. They were quick to respond to all of our numerous emails and gave us fantastic advice on the surrounding attractions not to miss…even what roads to take to avoid the traffic/congestion! Their breathtaking, spacious, fully stocked cabin is conveniently located to all the amenities (shopping, grocery stores, outlet mall, etc.) and really close to all the visitors attractions & the Great Smoky Mountains. It is magnificently decorated in a warm and inviting style so much so that it became our home away from home. My sons (ages 16, 12, & 9) absolutely loved the hot tub, playing pool and especially what they considered their own mini “apartment” upstairs (LOL!). Fabulous attractions that we loved: WonderWorks, Nascar Parkway, Dollywood, the trails in the Great Smoky Mountains, Cade’s Cove, & Ole Smoky Moonshine (their Extra Hot Hillbilly Caviar aka ChowChow is delicious). There is soooo much to do in Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge / Sevierville that I know we will definitely be back. It was an amazing, relaxing yet fun vacation. We all agreed we'd stay at Stag’s Leap again and would highly recommend it (and have to all our friends)! Thanks for sharing your piece of heaven with us!

Owner's Response: Chris and I are thrilled you enjoyed your first experience staying in a log cabin in the mountains, it's a quite special place for me ever since my first trip to the mountains in my fathers motorhome when I was a young teenager. The area captivated me with the many waterfalls and wildlife at your doorstep. The memories the children and family made at the cabin will be planted in their brain for ever. Thank you again and please give us a call if/when you plan another visit to the Smoky Mountains, we'd love to have you stay with us again. God Bless

Great 1st time experience!!

This was kids & myself's first trip to the Mountains so I really wanted to enjoy it most with the cabin feel. I could not have picked a better cabin to stay in. We were 6 total. My in laws, my 2 small boys, and my husband and myself. I was really nervous with the decor having to small children but they never bothered with it. I was amazed how well all communications went with the owners up until after our stay. I was nervous about the entering system but it went well. We travel yearly and it is so hard to stay in hotels with hyper children. There was enough room for our boys to enjoy themselves and us to enjoy the peacefulness of cabin life. Perfect distance out the way from the hustle and bustle of the busy city but not to far that finding things to do took to much time to get to. We enjoyed the Freedoom Festival while there. But coming back to the cabin every night was amazing. It was very beautifully decorated, the amenities were perfect, very clean, and just so much more accommodating then a hotel for my bunch. The boys enjoyed watching the "lighting" bugs in the trees every night. I hope to one day return to Pigeon Forge and hopefully this cabin is still available to the public for renting.

Owner's Response: Chris and I are so pleased you enjoyed your first trip to the mountains at Stag's Leap. It is a special place for us for sure and enjoy it tremendously when guests enjoy the surroundings as much. We love how spacious the cabin is now after the renovations to make it larger while still capturing it's rustic elegance but most of all the comfort. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you are able to make it back for a return trip, we'd love to have you back. Thank you and god bless

We didn't want to leave!

We didn't want to leave!

We stayed at the cabin for the week of Spring Break.....8 days, 7 nites. My only HUGE complaint is that we didn't want to leave. This was our first visit to Pigeon the mountains....and I am 100% sure it was the best vacation we've ever had. Stags Leap was the homiest place to stay. The furniture from every chair, to the beds was so comfortable it was almost better than being at home. My kids LOVED the loft, and of course we all loved the pool table and Jacuzzi. Carolyn and Chris were so wonderful to deal with from all my pesky emails before arriving to making sure we had directions to the T. Stags Leap was clean, perfectly stocked and the only word I can come up with is just AMAZING! My husband and I are already talking about planning a long weekend trip for just the 2 of us for our anniversary in February. There is no doubt we'll be back sooner rather than later, and no doubt Stags Leap is where we'll always stay when going to beautiful TN. Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your was simply AMAZING!

Owner's Response: Carolyn and I are so please you enjoyed our little piece of the mountains as much as we do. The Smokies is a special place for us and it took us 10 years to find Stag's and Carolyn fell in love with it driving into the driveway. Back then it was crushed stone and 1988 décor but after some well deserved renovations we hope many enjoy Stag's Leap as much as we do. Thank you and please don't hesitate getting back to us when looking for that special place to spend time with family or your significant other, our door is always open to enjoy what the Smokies have to offer.

What a great way to start the New Year!

  • 5 of 5
This was our second visit to Stag's Leap. We love this cabin and it's wonderful location. It is close to all of the main attractions but very private. The cabin itself is beautiful, clean and well stocked. Carolyn was very prompt and courteous in answering all our questions. Everything is very well maintained. We will return and have already recommended this wonderful spot to our family and friends.

From the Owner

At the age of 15 years old in the family march break motor home trip, we went through Kentucky and Tennessee. I fell in love with the mountains of Tennessee, particularly the Smoky Mountains. What a trip, burned out breaks, tubing, fly fishing, scouting out the waterfalls, you name it we did it. And oh yah!! The Mills Brothers cassette tape, by the time we were home, I new all the words by memory, propably do even today, my dad was in a phase, what can I say, myself, country music, bluegrass is my nitch.

From the Owner

I vowed at the early age that before I retire I would have a log cabin in the mountains, so we set out on this adventure, renting for 15 years, every time a different cabin, to find the likes and dislikes of each cabin and keeping notes as to what our perfect getaway needed to have. Cozy feeling when walking in, but homey, very comfortable furniture and enough furniture to relax and settle in with a good book infront of a cozy fireplace. Decorated for the seasons, was huge for me, I always brought my christmas tree, lights, ornaments and lights for the outside of the cabin even for a weeks stay over the holidays. I did that each and every holiday we were fortunate enough to do over the years, heat up some warm apple cidar, something about the smell in a warm, cozy log cabin. So the hunt started in 1991 and finally found the perfect setting in 2005 over our fall outing to the Smokies. Tucked back of the road, the cabin spoke to me from the street, but the inside another story entirely, a gut job in the works. Thus, 6 months in the making, new lodge style decor, lighting and comfy furniture. Stag's Leap was born anew. Many, many vacationers have called Stag's Leap their home away from home, warm and inviting, and we couldn't agree more.
