Both the upstairs bedrooms with adjoining full baths boasts cathedral ceilings, linens, towels and hand soaps supplied in all bathrooms for your convenience. Great tree line views from this bedroom to see the woodpeckers on the back trees and don't forget the wild turkeys are a must to see in the large back yard from this room.

UPPER LEVEL MASTER SUITE: No expense has been spared on this master bedroom, the most luxurious and romantic stay in the mountains. With cathedral ceilings, king size canopy log bed, 2 log night tables with antler lamps with tin jeweled shades provide luxury at its finest. Tucked in the corner with great mountain views is the Jacuzzi tub, hardwood floors in the bedroom with tiled floors in the bathroom. Not ready to retire for the evening, slip into the jacuzzi for a relaxing bath from your busy day of shopping or star gaze.

Hours of entertainment is provided at this mountain retreat, with the slate pool table, upper level family room with FREE WIFI INTERNET, checkers/chess table & chairs and the games table. About the Owner

My husband works 12 hour days, 6 days a week, and the Smoky Mountains is the only place we can unwind, relax and re-connect from a busy auto parts business that he has had for 25+ years.

The mountains have a calming effect on both of us, so much so, a quaint log cabin wedding chapel between would be the perfect place to get married, so that's what we did in October 2004.

I have been blessed with a wonderful, patient, loving husband, we have been together since 1995, and I can only hope another 25 years or so. November 2005 after searching for 10 years and renting many cabins, we found our perfect 1932 sq. ft. 2 bedroom/2bath cabin, Stag's Leap only minutes from this cabin with wildlife right at the front door.

What is not to love about the mountains and streams that surround the Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg area, but my family is large 8 aunts and uncles, so when they found out about our little piece of heaven in the mountains, well lets just say the cabin was not longer large enough for my family, so 'Wilderness Ridge' came to be.

Wildlife galore, elk, deer, black bears, wild turkeys and much more right at your front door. We hope this area and cabin is our retirement spot and we grow old together-swinging on our covered front porch with amazing views of God's country with loving family around us.

What else could we possibly ask for. Nothing other than good health to enjoy each other for many more years!!

We thoroughly enjoyed Wilderness Ridge this weekend. The cabin is absolutely lovely!! It provided us a perfect place for a nice, quiet visit with my mother, brother and family. We all admire the way you decorated the cabin, each room in a different theme. We are already talking about a repeat weekend in the fall.

Never Get Tired of this place, Simply Amazing

  • 5 of 5
Just got back from Wilderness Ridge again. We have been coming to this cabin for 8 years now and is still as beautiful and well kept as the first time stepping in the front door. Spotless, comfortable and spacious and I'm in awe of the mountain décor in this cabin that sets it apart from all others in the area. Can't wait for the fall so we can return again. We were greeted the first morning with 2 red headed woodpeckers right off the back porch this trip. Cool!!

Beautiful cabin

  • 4 of 5
We just got back from a visit to Wilderness Ridge and had a wonderful time. It is a gorgeous cabin with beautiful decorating & lovely details. Everything was in great working order and made for an easy stay. Only a few notes we had for future guests: the walls are a little thin so sound does travel a bit, if you're there for longer than a weekend plan on purchasing a few extra staple supplies (paper towels, dish soap, tissues, etc) & lastly, the traffic is really terrible in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg which makes for a long drive into the mountains. I wouldn't recommend this cabin if your entire visit is planned going to the Smoky Mountains. We were greatly disappointed by how touristy PF & Gatlinburg were so we spent every day in the National Park. Just to get into the park takes 30 minutes & getting to Cades Cove took 1 1/2 hours one way. Otherwise, the cabin itself is one of the best VRBOs we've stayed in.

Owner's Response: With the cabin being located only 5 miles from PF parkway (10 minute drive) during peak times/seasons using the back road directions that we provided is quite helpful to avoid the heavy traffic on the parkways. Our cabin, being off Wears Valley Road just a mile up from the parkway in PF provides alternative roads into the National Park which also cuts down immensely on travel time when going through Wears Valley (very scenic route) and Townsend. WE PROVIDE A STARTER KIT OF SUPPLIES for our guests as stated in our access email/rental agreement then it is up to you to provide more as each group uses different quantities depending on their activities while visiting the area.
Being a first timer to the Smokies you wouldn't have known that October is probably the most popular month for travelling to the Smokies with large crowds and yes heavier volumes of traffic, also the biggest wedding month. By far the biggest attraction though is the fall colors which you probably enjoyed while spending so much time in the national park. I have to say my favorite time to visit the Smokies is October/November for the spectacular fall colors that Mother Nature provides us.
We are thrilled that you found the cabin beautiful, spacious AND EVERYTHING IN GREAT WORKING ORDER and you enjoyed the extra bonus of the fall decorations. Also thank you for sharing with other potential guests that Wilderness Ridge was one of the best VRBO properties you have stayed in, that's always wonderful to hear.

From the Owner

'The Smoky Mountains' need we say more, stunning views, Douglas Lake within 20 minutes travel time from the cabin, my husband loves to fish, and fish he does, what more can you ask for in a vacation spot. We live on the Great Lakes, so Tennessee is perfect for off season fishing, while the ice is still flowing at home during the winter and early spring months, for myself My husband is enjoying the fishing opportunities in Tennessee. My first experience fishing for crappy was here on Douglas Lake, and I love it!!! Never mind the beautiful scenery of the lake with the mountains beyond, a picture post card. To tell you the truth, we fell in love with this property because of the view from the driveway/front porch, large usable back yard just screaming for a firepit area and we knew we were buying it without seeing what the cabin had to offer inside, wild turkeys were there to greet us and only 2 years old when we purchased it in 2006 that also a plus. The size, layout and number of bedrooms/bathrooms, a bonus once we toured the property with the real estate agent. The view was it for us, perfect location being 5 miles from the heart of Pigeon Forge, close to all area amenities but far enough for a tranquil, quiet, private piece of heaven. The property is perched on a ridge with no cabins to the left or right and the Smoky Mtn wilderness behind. Only the roof tops of the cabins across the street. We sit hours on the 108' of covered front/side porch, watching Mother Nature at her best at Wilderness Ridge.

From the Owner

We enjoy everything about this property. Large back yard for the kids, firepit, horseshoes and croquet. The 'great room' has opened the cabin up to nature with the end wall of the cabin now glass, sit at night on the mezzanine overlooking the great room to enjoy the twinkling lights on the nearby mountain tops calming and relaxing. What isn't there to love about a rustic yet luxury mountain getaway to unwind and re-acquaint yourself with family/friends.
