The apartment:

Is stylishly furnished with all the comforts of home, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day; watch a movie, enjoy a glass of wine or entertain family or friends in the 950sq ft space inside or the private outdoor BBQ area, It is the perfect inner city retreat.

The building:

The Harrison Modern has 4 wonderful apartments to offer in a, well designed, refurbished, Mid-Century building. For your privacy each unit has a separate entrance; 1111 – 1117 E. Harrison Street. I have lived in the building for 15 years and the neighborhood for 17, I would be happy to give you a local perspective on sightseeing or dining in the neighborhood during your stay.

The location:

Capitol Hill is one of Seattle's most vibrant neighborhoods, with wonderful stately homes, parks, museums, shopping, restaurants, theaters and other attractions all within a short walk from the property.

We have a fantastic location in the heart of this historic neighborhood, within 3 minutes walk you will find a variety of shopping, restaurants, cafes, and 3 supermarkets

We are on the same street as Seattle University and a 5 minute walk from the Pike/Pine Corridor bars, cafes & nightlife. Downtown Seattle is 1 mile from the building as is the Washington State Trade & Convention Center, and the Hospitals on First Hill. The Pike Place Market and the Seattle Space Needle are also easily accessed either on foot or by the extensive bus network that passes 2 blocks from the building on the eclectic Broadway Shopping street. You will LOVE the location!!

After staying at many Vacation Rental Properties over the past 6 years I am confident you will thoroughly enjoy your stay with us. I have painstakingly created a retreat that is both functional and stylish. This apartment features the following:

Most things are within an easy five to ten minute walk of from the building: Volunteer Park, Conservatory, Asian Art Museum, Cal Anderson Park, a large of shops, restaurants and Coffee houses.

I have owned and lived in the Harrison Modern since 1997. I have a passion for architecture and interior design, you will see this in every aspect of the building. Originally born in New Zealand, I have traveled the world and the US extensively, I believe that Seattle is one of the most beautiful cities on the planet. My back ground is in Tourism Marketing, I worked for the New Zealand Tourism Board in Los Angles for 8 years before moving to Seattle in 1994. I have a love of travel and new experiences - Whenever I away I always stay at vacation apartments, as you get a real feel for the destination you are visiting.

Harrison Modern - what a wonderful place to stay. we already know seattle is a terrific city. that doesn't mean everywhere you can lodge will be terrific. but Harrison House delivers with flying colours. lots of space. well appointed, and stylishly so in it's mid century modern glory. Capital Hill is a fantastic neighbourhood, and when you combine it with the apartment and it's proximity to downtown - you are sure to be pleased. take it from me, the people who take care of this property before and after you get there - they won't disappoint you either. top marks across the board. nice job!

Convenient Capitol Hill Apartment

Five of us stayed there for three nights. Though there are only two bedrooms, it doesn't feel cramped, especially since you have a private backyard patio area for eating, or just lazing around in (weather permitting). There is even a BBQ. The convenience factors include being walking distance to restaurants, shops, and supermarkets. The décor and furniture have a mid-century vibe and the kitchen was well-outfitted. Numerous pantry items were a help in meal preparation. Though it is in the middle of a big city, the neighborhood was quiet at night, and we definitely felt safe. Since two of us are Senior Citizens, the fact that only one stair was involved (leading up to the entry), was a definite plus. When you are there with a group, note that the parking space is long enough for 2 cars. If you stay there, be sure and walk @ 6 short blocks to "The Rock Box", a karaoke establishment with private rooms where you can bellow your lungs out. They also serve drinks and snacks.

Quiet location but close to action with a great outdoor space

My 2 friends and I had a great time staying here. An very short walk to a popular street filled with restaurants and groceries or whatever you'd need as well as a convenient place to catch the bus downtown. The outdoor space in the back was better than expected. We would enjoy the patio for our morning coffee and after a long day of walking around and sight seeing, return to the patio for some drinks in the evening. Free wi-fi was also nice. Would absolutely stay here again.

Just what we were looking for!

When we travel we always look to stay in a place with character in a community rather than a hotel. This place was fantastic for us 3 adults. The neighbourhood was great and the amenities couldn't get any better. The apartment had everything we needed and was a pleasure to stay in. We didn't have a car and nor do you need one - and we went everywhere! I can't wait to return.

Seattle is a vibrant city full of amazing sights from world class architecture, vibrant arts scene, to spectacular outdoor activities. Capitol Hill, is the perfect location to explore all Seattle and everything the region has to offer. If you are not traveling outside the city you won't need a car, everything is within an easy walk or a short bus ride. Within 3 short blocks of the building are a a number of great restaurants, shops and cafes, 2 supermarkets and 3 wonderful city parks. Capitol Hill is a rich, diverse, neighborhood with multi million mansions and a wonderful farmers market within blocks of each other. One thing I am sure about... You will love the location. I have done a lot of traveling and believe that Seattle and the Pacific North West is one of the most beautiful, livable, areas in the North America.
