This BRAND NEW listing is a two story custom built condo located in the heart of the downtown Santa Barbara shopping district and walking distance to the wharf. The location is amazing but the condo itself is what has all our guests coming back! Our condo is part of a luxurious five-unit development that was recognized as 2009 Project of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders. Our tranquil condo is warm and bright, with a unique modern style. The first floor of the condo is the master bedroom which has a deluxe king bed, a high end master bathroom, and a private porch area. The porch area is surrounded by a high privacy fence and plenty of shade from the encircling trees. When you travel up the stairs to the main living space you will be astounded by the spacious feel with an open kitchen, dining, and living area. The high vaulted ceilings and natural light make this room feel larger than life. It is the perfect space for entertaining guests or just a romantic evening. The kitchen is fully equipped with all your cooking needs. We love cooking on our stainless steel Energy Star appliances by Electrolux. Our unit meets all the requirements of a LEED certified Platinum Level and is 3 start Built Green Certified. We really appreciate the fact that our unit is Built Green and is environmentally friendly, from the landscape designed to reduce the excessive water usage all the way up to the cross ventilation from the strategically placed windows. Trust us you and the earth will both be pleased with our condo!

We are located in a charming neighborhood just a few blocks from Stearns Wharf and West Beach. Stearns Wharf is California’s oldest working wharf and is the perfect spot to enjoy the ocean breeze while watching local fishing boats. You can touch marine life in at the Ty Warner Sea Center which is a family friendly museum and aquarium; it is also right next to great food, fishing and other pier attractions. While you are in the area don’t miss an opportunity to play volleyball or rollerblade around West Beach. This is also where the Ka Nai'a Outrigger Club holds their Sunday lessons and where many kayaks, windsurfers, and sailboats set out. Our condo is also a few blocks away from State Street which gives direct access to Downtown's Historic Arts District in the Heart of Santa Barbara. The property manager was somewhat unhelpful.
The vacation rental was somewhat dirty.
I was happy with the location.
I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

This was NOT as advertised when I booked via VRBO. It said it had Air Conditioningf, it did not. It was not clean, crumbs under the kitchen table, patio had not been swept, wet towel folded and put away in the linen closet, NO hot water, tiny coffee maker, noisy neighborhood (which would not have been such a problem if there was AC and you could close the windows). There was a remote for a bose speaker, but no speaker to be found!!!!!! Really disappointed for $300+ per night. The worst was cold showers & no AC - never would have booked a place in the summer with no air conditioning as my husband hates to be hot and I have allergies. Being forced to sleep with all the windows open and a ceiling fan on high all night made for misery. Will probably stick with VRBO properties only, as we have had excellent experiences with those rentals. TurnKey was a bust!

The property is in a great location, it's easy to get to the beach, restaurants, the harbor and great shopping on State street. The home is very cool and in fantastic condition. The only thing that needs adjustment is that the tankless hot water heater temperature should be turned up from the 120 degrees not enough hot water.

Excellent stay ... adding some minor suggestions

We spent 7 nights in Santa Barbara at this condo. It is a lovely property, with all of the amenities you would need. The location is just perfect .. in the West Beach area, just a couple of blocks from the ocean. There are many "plus features", such as:
-- very comfortable furniture
-- nice living arrangement
-- kitchen very well stocked
-- private parking
-- very clean
-- upscale condo, without being snooty
-- kitchen appliances up to date, functional and easy to use
-- good instructions sent by the rental company
-- well stocked (tp, paper towels, laundry soap, towels, etc.)
-- well appointed condo .. should be pleasing to any age group
-- the 1/2 bath upstairs is very convenient

We would suggest just a few modifications to make this property a "super star":
-- a bath mat is needed in the shower, as the floor is very slippery
-- a covering is needed in the bedroom window
-- tv channel listing is needed (we are from out of state and didn't know the channel listings)
-- the condo ad needs to be modified, as there is no air conditioning in the unit
-- we suggest someone hose down the trash area (smells)
-- the "cubes" setting in the ice maker in the fridge doesn't work (only makes crushed ice)
-- the outdoor patio (downstairs) could have been hosed down before our arrival
-- one final suggestion: investigate the possibility of a ceiling fan upstairs, to help improve air circulation. It would sometimes get somewhat uncomfortable upstairs on warm days.

None of the above suggestions should deter anyone from renting this property. It was really, really nice and we would love to return.

Our Review. Mostly positive

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 days and nights, and in general were very happy with the accommodations. The location is great, an easy walk to West beach and the harbor. Downtown is within walking distance as well, or as we did, a quick bike ride. The amenities were great, with a grill on the balcony, and a kitchen with everything you would need. The condo is very clean and designed very well, in spanish / mediterranean style accents and architecture.
Although 2 things did stand out. One the 2nd floor gets very warm, and there is no AC. At the very least, a ceiling fan would have been nice and would help cool it down. A hot and humid living space is not what you are looking for after a day at the beach or riding bikes. Also, there was a noise complaint against the complex, and we were warned by phone and e-mail about it. Now, in the message she indicated it may not have been us, but the e-mailed certainly implied it. The e-mail even warned that if another complaint was lodged we could expect the police to show up. Not what we wanted to hear, when it was just the 2 of us, and we were not in the least bit loud. I can't imagine what it would be if there were a few people in one of the units and you wanted to sit on the balcony with wine, etc. or a group that including excited kids for instance. I did not notice anything that was too loud from the other units either. And, as I said, the tome of the e-mail was very surprising and not exactly accommodating to paying tenants who were in no way disrespecting of neighbors with loud music or noise.
I would recommend this place, but certainly I would keep this in mind. All in all, we were happy and give it a good rating.

In saying that, we have placed another fan in the master bedroom to assist with cooling that area down.

As for the noise complaints, we apologize if this was seemed an implication. We do receive these notices and we do our due diligence to follow up. In now way did we mean to offend.
