Amazing location and place to stay!

  • 5 of 5
I took my mother to SF for the first time, and this place was PERFECT! It could not have been a better location at all!! We walked to deli's for our first lunch after arriving (not far at all), and quickly got acquainted. We were able to walk to the Palace of Fine Arts, had no problem with parking, and did not have a single complaint. The home was fully stocked with clean linens, towels, movies, books, and anything you could possibly want in the kitchen. We saved a ton by having breakfast before heading out each day, and would definitely stay again!!

Yet another 5 star review

  • 5 of 5
I stayed at Cedar's rental for 5 nights with my 13 year old son. It was clean, comfortable, excellent location. Cedar responded to all questions and was easy to work with. The phone and laptop came in handy.

My son slept on the sofa bed which has a typical sofa bed mattress: soft and springy. perfect for young backs, but would have not have been comfortable for me. I like a firm mattress and the regular bed was very comfortable. It was also very quiet, making for some good sleeps.

I tried the 2 smaller of the adult bikes, and they both need some maintenance. The granny gears didn't work in the bike I ended up using, so it made for some good exercise going up to the Golden Gate Bridge. Also the stand was loose and I was hitting it with my pedal, which was very annoying. I solved that, temporarily, using baggy ties to tie it out of the way. The tires were very low, but when I tried to put in air with the pump, it didn't work, so I gave up. The other smaller bike had the seat stuck in a position that was too high for me and the brakes seemed loose. I didn't try the other bikes. However, I still loved having the bike and used it often to get to the bridge, Fort Point, the Palace of Fine Arts, and Chestnut st.

I loved the location and loved SF. We used bus #30 to get around, and #28 to get to the Golden gate park, and a taxi once. I rented a car one day and street parking is fine during the day, but a bit tougher after 5 when the neighbors get home from work, but still manageable.

I would recommend this rental and would stay here again if I return to this wonderful city.

Great property, ideal location, responsive owner

  • 5 of 5
Property was exactly as presented. Super comfortable bed, lovely outside sitting area, more than adequately equipped kitchen. Could not have asked for more. Owner was very helpful in the planning/pre-arrival phase...no need to contact the owner after arrival, as everything was perfect. As warned, parking was a challenge but we did okay. Driving/parking in SF is horrible anyway, but this neighborhood was the easiest place we went in the city. We will definitely stay here again, and would recommend to friends/family. Since we are not used to having anyone living above, it seemed loud when the upstairs tenant came home at night and was walking around. That is our only complaint (if you want to call it that!). Thank you, Cedar, for offering such a nice place.

Great stay in SF Marina

  • 5 of 5
What a great place to stay while we were in SF last week. This charming flat is one block from the marina on a very quiet street. It was a fantastic home base for exploring this wonderful city. The #30 bus stop is one block away and with our muni-pass we were able to explore the city in depth, in the 5 days we were there. We downloaded the free MUNI app which give a real time location of all busses, street cars and cable cars, plus how many minutes to any stop. It made travel easy. We cannot express enough that SF can get cold as quickly as turning a corner on a windy day with a 20 degree difference. Cedar, what a wonderful gift of having the extra coats in the closet. The weather report said 72 but some places felt like 50 and windy. My wife lived in the gray fleece jacket and hooded windbreaker every day. We had a back pack with us and constantly added or shed layers as we explored the many districts of the city. We lived on east coast time while we were out there so every day during late afternoon and early evening we sat on the wonderful patio, and had some wine or beer and some cheese and bread to wind down from a long day of exploring. It is so peaceful on the patio with a slight breeze and zero traffic noise. It' feels like total privacy. The streets around ths flat have some of the most beautiful row houses in the city and the Palace of Fine Arts being a few blocks away was a private sancuary for a stroll at 7am with just us and the ducks. We would love to stay here again when we return to your City by the Bay.

Great home base

  • 5 of 5
This was a wonderful place to begin and end the day. Everything was as described and the king-sized bed is especially comfortable. Grocery and excellent restaurants are close by, as is easy access to bike paths along the water. We will recommend it to friends and hope to return ourselves.

Perfect San Francisco experience

  • 5 of 5
If you're reviewing this property, you must already be interested San Francisco, so I will concentrate my comments more on the apt than on the city itself (which is absolutely fabulous). The owner provided excellent info (written and photos) for the use of the well-stocked apt. (via email and a 3-ring binder on the coffee table.) One outstanding feature is that the doors are opened with a keypad combination, so there is no key to keep track of. SUPER convenient. The apt was immaculately clean and nicely decorated. The bed was huge and quite comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, with a nice table convenient for use with a computer. Excellent Wi-Fi. My husband agreed with previous reviewers about how comfortable the recliner was in the living room! The spacious, private patio got great sun in the mid-morning hours. The bathroom is pretty small, but it has everything you need, including extra shampoo, lotions, etc. The washer and dryer were greatly appreciated, although you didn't need them to get clean towels: the towel supply was VERY generous, all shapes and sizes. The bikes (ALL bikes in the garage are available to use) were tremendous. What a cost saver, and fun! Don't let the hills scare you: there are plenty of flat, scenic trails and streets to ride on. The Safeway grocery store is 5 flat minutes away on a bike (take the one with the basket!) The apt is in a very safe, quiet neighborhood. Close (5 minute walk) to stores/restaurants on Chestnut Street ("Hole in the Wall Pizza" was very good.) Five minute walk to major bus lines (bring dollar bills.) Parking was tough: the owner provides info upon request to obtain a parking pass during the day (can be ordered by mail if you plan far ahead), but if you're looking for a spot after 6 PM you may be out of luck. (Any car can park overnight until 10 AM without a pass, again, if you can find a space.) Between the bikes and the buses you could get around the city fine. There is a bowl on the TV stand filled with pamphlets about local attractions/parks, etc. Very useful, but be sure to confirm operating hours, etc. before going since some pamphlets may be outdated. Best side trip: hiking in the Marin Headlands, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, to the west. 20 minute drive to get there, well worth the views back toward the city.
The owner was very responsive to emailed questions prior to our stay, and our security deposit was returned within a week of our departure. Fantastic
