About the Owner

We were invited to Big Bear to stay at a friend's cabin and liked it so much, we bought a cabin near them. We think it is one of the nicest areas on the mountain.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The cabin is homey, cozy, spacious and secluded, exactly what we wanted. Our family enjoyed our stay. In fact, we wish we had more time. It was a nice home away from home. We can't wait for another vacation here, which we will do very soon. Thank you for everything, and for your patience. It was a great first time in Big Bear.

Had a blast a Rubicon

  • 5 of 5
We had a great time at Rubicon. The cabin was immaculate, and even accommodated sleeping and lounging for eight. There are two marinas within minutes of the place, and it's right next to the performing arts center. I can only imagine the sledding possibilities around the property and may have to come check it out in the winter. Thanks for sharing your home!

Beautiful Getaway!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I and our two adult children thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is quite spacious, we all had very comfortable rooms. The two full bathrooms (very spotless...looked like brand new!) a large living room, very spacious and fully equipped kitchen made us feel quite at home. The owner's attention to detail and genuine interest in providing her guests with everything they need was above and beyond our expectations. We felt privileged to stay in such a well-appointed cabin. Plus, the location was perfect! Just off Big Bear Blvd. and a few minutes from the village, yet tucked in the trees at the edge of the San Bernardino National Forest. We will definitely choose this cabin for our next visit to Big Bear!

Owner's Response: I love the location, and how you described it - and walking distance to the lake, too. Your words are so kind, but the cabin is more rustic than new, although I try to keep it very clean and comfortable.

A pleasant, relaxed stay

  • 4 of 5
The house is in a pretty location that's also quiet and away from the main road but close to everything. The house was clean and well stocked and very comfortably fit our four adults and two active kids. The trail into the national park is easy to walk and very nice. We recommend strongly a visit to the Big Bear Valley Historical Society--excellent, detailed historical exhibits and lots of fun, kid-friendly activities!

Wonderful Place

  • 5 of 5
Thanks for allowing us to stay at this wonderful place; home away from home. We had fabulous time at your cabin. It was loaded with lots of utensils, indoor games for kids, DVDs, and you name it… We loved air mattresses, electric blankets, sleds, toys and books for our daughter. The cabin was clean and arranged perfectly. Special instructions tags were an excellent idea for handy tips.
The location of the cabin is just perfect. Trails to the National forest starts right from the cabin. Marina (approx. 1.4 miles), Big Bear Village (approx. 2 miles). Domino’s Pizza Delivery available. Fast food & restaurants nearby.
Charlotte is very helpful. Provides info and responds quickly. It is a comfortable and relaxing get-away.

We spent our honeymoon in Big Bear over 25 years ago, and dreamed of purchasing a lodge then. This house was a dream come true! It's not fancy, but very functional and comfortable, with lots of little personal touches. Come relax, and have a good time. Make yourself at home!

Amenities

From the Owner

Extra private, with a vacant lot on both sides, backing to the forest. Many mature pines bring shade and wildlife. We love to walk in the forest, along the stream, and look for Mr Beaver, climb on the big rocks in the forest, go boating, or rent kayaks and pedal boats at the nearby Pleasure Point Marina. Fishing charters are a treat! We come up for shows at the Performing Arts Center, just steps away.
