About the Owner

We were invited to Big Bear to stay at a friend's cabin and liked it so much, we bought a cabin near them. We think it is one of the nicest areas on the mountain.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The cabin is homey, cozy, spacious and secluded, exactly what we wanted. Our family enjoyed our stay. In fact, we wish we had more time. It was a nice home away from home. We can't wait for another vacation here, which we will do very soon. Thank you for everything, and for your patience. It was a great first time in Big Bear.

Great Cabin Anytime of Year

  • 4 of 5
Our family came up to Big Bear February 2015 to play in the snow - didn't snow. Ok, so the weather didn't cooperate with us but luckily we rented this great cabin so close to everything! We were able to go hiking right out the back door and the lake is a a short walk away. We were very close to tubing hills, ski slopes (they had snow!), and town but where this cabin is situated, it didn't feel close to town - very quiet with lots of space and trees! The cabin itself is very cozy. It slept 6 of us (and the dog) very comfortable. I would recommend this cabin and will be contacting Charlotte, the owner (who is very pleasant to work with), again to rent this cabin in the future. Thank you Charlotte!

Highly Recommend!

This stay was my first at Rubicon, joining my daughter and her family who stayed at this lovely cabin in the fall 2014 and highly recommended it. Charlotte is a warm, welcoming and very responsive host. It is a cozy and very comfortable cabin. We would absolutely choose this place for another trip to Big Bear Lake and highly recommend it to everyone!

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Rubicon with my family. We had a great time! Charlotte was wonderful to deal with and the description of the cabin and contents was right on. Cozy and perfect for our family. Great location. We will definitely return.

Big Bear Cabin

We were pleasantly surprise at the cabin. We really like the location of the cabin. We love all the nature surrounding the cabin. The cabin, itself, was very clean. We love the activities inside the cabin for night time, such as the air hockey table.
The owner is very nice and helpful. She always replied to my questions. I have nothing but good things to say about the property and the owner. We would definitely rent this property again. This only made our Big Bear experience more enjoyable. We had a wonderful time there!

It was a very nice place where we found exactly what we were looking for, a nice peaceful place away from the city. The cabin was very well equipped with all household items you can possibly need, it was just very nice.

From the Owner

We spent our honeymoon in Big Bear over 25 years ago, and dreamed of purchasing a lodge then. This house was a dream come true! It's not fancy, but very functional and comfortable, with lots of little personal touches. Come relax, and have a good time. Make yourself at home!

We back to the forest, near a stream, for beautiful scenery, sounds of wildlife, and fresh mountain air! A Bear was seen on the property Mid Sept. 2011, August 10, 2012, and Aug 24th 2013. The bear quickly walked away each time, but don't leave food out, just in case!

From the Owner

Extra private, with a vacant lot on both sides, backing to the forest. Many mature pines bring shade and wildlife. We love to walk in the forest, along the stream, and look for Mr Beaver, climb on the big rocks in the forest, go boating, or rent kayaks and pedal boats at the nearby Pleasure Point Marina. Fishing charters are a treat! We come up for shows at the Performing Arts Center, just steps away.
