Robert’s Grocery and Walgreen’s are just one block away, not just a great places to get staples but Robert’s also serves some of the best prepared local cuisine daily. Mere blocks from historic, yet hip Oak Street, there are dozens of nearby restaurants, bars, coffeehouses and shops. Just minutes to Audubon Park, the Universities, Downtown or the French Quarter by streetcar or bus. Bringing your own car? There’s a 2 car driveway.

Bedroom 1 has a queen bed with Tempurpedic mattress and Bedroom 2 has a queen size sofa sleeper with 5' memory foam pad and 5' feather mattress topper. There’s a large fenced backyard and a stunning 10’ x 30’ covered porch with ceiling fans and lights, complete with outdoor living room and dining table. There’s even a doggie door if you want to bring your dog! There's central air and heat, ceiling fans in every room, dishwasher, washer and dryer, gas range, microwave, 12 foot ceilings, tons of natural light, security system, 50' flat screen TV, stereo, DVD and streaming internet to watch Netflix movies, desktop computer and WiFi.

Spring stay at the Dubliner

Sweet house, great kitchen, wonderful neighborhood for walking or jump on the Street Car. Fenced in back yard with a restful porch with table and chairs, "day bed" and seating for hanging out with family or napping as we did after our long drive. Walk to restaurants, coffee house and even to Cooter Brown's for fantastic poboys and muffalettas. Dubliner is true New Orleans house with beautiful hard wood floors, tall ceilings, and the fantastically equipped kitchen. Jacque was a lovely hostess and gracious to the end when I made a huge error. Off street parking in NO is a gift! Would recommend highly.....close to everything and far enough away to relax.

Fantasic house. I will never stay in a hotel in New Orleans again.

The location was a little away from downtown but for us that was nice. The uptown neighborhood had quite a few gems of its own like the MapleLeaf. The house itself is warm and inviting and has everything you could need with a great grocery store right accross the street. The back yard is wonderful with a nice lounge to decompress after and exciting day and night. The bed in the office is a foldout, but i found it pretty comfortable. Maybe not the best support if you have back problems. Overall i would definitely stay again.

Lovely Rental

We ( four adults ) stayed in this lovely home for 2 weeks over the 2014 holidays . It is in a great location with many things close by, much within walking distance - the streetcar, a great grocery and drugstore / park with playground and very good restaurants close by ,too.
This "shot gun" house is comfortable with a covered deck ( for lounging and / or eating ) and a nicely sized fenced backyard at the very back of the house ( off the master bedroom ).
The kitchen is fully equipped if you choose to eat in . There is a large island with two stools but no other dining area except for the table / chairs ( seats 6 ) out on the deck . Due to our time of year , the weather was not conducive often to sit out there , but we often did "buffet style" for breakfast / lunch by utilizing the living room couches / coffee table which worked fine .
The queen sized bed in the master is very comfortable , but the queen pull out couch in the den is just "so , so " for a TWO week visit - ended up purchasing a "pillow top" which was the answer / solution . (Not a major criticism , but a "pull out is a pull out" , in general , and for a longer stay , maybe a thought / suggestion to have on hand ... )
Our hostess , Jacque , was VERY available and MOSTgracious for any questions we had , problem solving , etc..- Case in point , we had difficulty with the dishwasher and she immediately got it serviced in a timely fashion.:)
All and all , we would not hesitate to rent this home again !

Owner's Response: Margot, thanks for the constructive criticism! It is always of utmost importance to me that my guests have a wonderful experience and I can only see it from their perspective when I get feedback.

At your suggestion, I have now added a 5" down pillowtop mattress to the mix in the guest bedroom. It now has both a 5" memory foam topper AND a 5" down topper, so it should feel like heaven in there now!

Went to NOLA for a girls weekend. Location of house was great close to streetcar. House was super clean. Owner was available by text for any questions. I would stay here every time. $20 got us to the quarter. It was a good expirence.

Great home for the two of us, but big enough if we had brought the kids. Beautiful two bedroom two bath shotgun totally remodeled. Gorgeous kitchen and beautiful hardwoods throughout. Quiet neighborhood, very safe. Comfortable place with a very affordable rate (cheaper than the hotel hosting my conference, and much more comfortable). Jacque made everything easy and straightforward. Will definitely be renting this home again in the future. Oh, and the bed in the master suite was super comfy with some special mattress of some kind. Was also pleased to see the large spice and cooking accessory collection...sounds silly but my husband likes to cook and I hate it when you find a vrbo house that has nothing to cook with or spices, utensils etc. You never know if the pics you see on the website are true to form, but this place lived up to the pics and more.

My house is nestled amongst the beautiful oak trees that have made Uptown New Orleans famous, right across the street from Palmer Park, where you can catch the street car and head toward the French Quarter or, if you're in a hurry, there's also a cab stand or the bus stop just across the park. If you want the real feel of living in New Orleans in it's most sought-after neighborhood, in a real historic Victorian home, then The Dubliner is for you!

I allow dogs (sorry, no cats) and there's a doggie door and a great fenced backyard for them - and you! Definitely plan to spend at least a little time enjoying the gorgeous 30' x 10' back porch; there's an outside seating group to use as a den, or take your dinner outside (after preparing it in my fantastic huge gourmet kitchen or get it from Robert's grocery down the block, or, heck - take it out if you want from one of the many, many restaurants within walking distance of the house on Carrollton Avenue or Oak Street). Need an computer while you're away? I've got that covered, too. Or bring your own laptop and use the wi-fi.
