Dubliner

Great home for the two of us, but big enough if we had brought the kids. Beautiful two bedroom two bath shotgun totally remodeled. Gorgeous kitchen and beautiful hardwoods throughout. Quiet neighborhood, very safe. Comfortable place with a very affordable rate (cheaper than the hotel hosting my conference, and much more comfortable). Jacque made everything easy and straightforward. Will definitely be renting this home again in the future. Oh, and the bed in the master suite was super comfy with some special mattress of some kind. Was also pleased to see the large spice and cooking accessory collection...sounds silly but my husband likes to cook and I hate it when you find a vrbo house that has nothing to cook with or spices, utensils etc. You never know if the pics you see on the website are true to form, but this place lived up to the pics and more.

VACATION BLISS

  • 5 of 5
My husband and a close friend took our first trip to New Orleans. We had the pleasure of staying at the Dubliner. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip. A warm and adorably cozy home, which is in the ABSOLUTE perfect location for traveling to this culturally rich city. You have quick and easy access to anything your heart desires, including Streetcars, and the highways. Everything we went to was a quick 10-20 minutes away max. The house is fully equipped to make your trip feel like you are still at home. The back porch is to die for and we had some of our best memories drinking wine on the porch and enjoying the rain. Plus the owner is a dream of ease and tranquility to work with. I highly recommend this place for your stay and will be coming back, myself, in the future.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this home. It was extremely cozy and had everything we needed. The landlord was very nice and answered my questions all of our questions timely. We are from New Orleans and came in town for the weekend so we strategically selected the location which is very convenient and safe. Thanks Jackie!!!

Our stay in New Orleans

  • of 5
My family and I stayed at the Dubliner when we travelled to New Orleans for a wedding, and truly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was perfect for us - great location, nice amenities and a fabulous back deck and backyard that we enjoyed hanging out in. The owner, Jacque, was very flexible with us as we had to check in earlier than normal, but she was very accommodating, which we appreciated. She gave us great restaurant suggestions and was extremely responsive to me when I reached out to her before our trip. I would highly recommend staying at the Dubliner. If we have occassion to travel back to New Orleans, we will!

Location

From the Owner

My house is nestled amongst the beautiful oak trees that have made Uptown New Orleans famous, right across the street from Palmer Park, where you can catch the street car and head toward the French Quarter or, if you're in a hurry, there's also a cab stand or the bus stop just across the park. If you want the real feel of living in New Orleans in it's most sought-after neighborhood, in a real historic Victorian home, then The Dubliner is for you!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Louis Armstrong Int'l at 7 Miles Nearest Barpub : Maple Leaf at 0.3 Miles Nearest Ferry : Jackson Avenue at 3 Miles Nearest Golf : Audubon Park at 1 Miles Nearest Train : Downtown at 3 Miles Nearest Motorway : I-10 at 1 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Oak Street at 0.3 Miles Nearest Beach : Gulf Shores, Alabama at 194 Miles

New Orleans is a city unlike any other. Its historic architecture, history (even haunted history), the French Quarter, Uptown, Audubon Park, City Park, several famous universities and unique food and cultural have made us famous world-wide. We offer some of the most famous festivals in the world; including Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest and French Quarter Fest, but we celebrate EVERYTHING! There’s a festival honoring someone or something nearly every weekend. But chances are what you’ve heard most about are our food and music and we have plenty of them both all over the city. We have thousands of restaurants, hundreds of music clubs and hundreds more just plain ol’ bars. We love our “cocktails,” which, (did you know?) were invented here! We’re known as “The Big Easy” for good reason: if you can’t relax and have fun here, you may as well stay home!

Amenities

From the Owner

I allow dogs (sorry, no cats - don't ask) and there's a doggie door and a great backyard for them - and you! Definitely plan to spend at least a little time enjoying the gorgeous 30' x 10' back porch; there's an outside seating group to use as a den, or take your dinner outside (after preparing it in my fantastic huge gourmet kitchen or get it from Robert's grocery down the block, or, heck - take it out if you want from one of the many, many restaurants within walking distance of the house on Carrollton Avenue or Oak Street). Need an computer while you're away? I've got that covered, too. Or bring your own laptop and use the wi-fi.
