Music festival weekend

We were happy to find a place for 7 adults and a 7yo to stay for the long weekend close to Vinoy Park for a music festival. It was fun swimming in the pool and relaxing when we weren’t at music. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals (not food, of course) and it was just an easy vacation experience.

Worst stay in my 30 years of traveling

From the moment we booked it was horrible. I reserved a week for my girlfriend and myself. 10 minutes after booking the Pool and hot tub paradise we found out that the pool and hot tub was not heated after the photos showed a hot tub with jets. The only thing we look forward to is the hot tub especially in Floridas winter months. They mislead and lied about everything the home supposedly came with. They are building condos 2 feet from the property line and it has windows that literally look into the entire back yard. between all the construction noise the workers all stand and watch my girl try and lay out in the sun, after all the people in the condo kept staring, she had to come inside. . Between saws and hammer drills the noise was horrible. It had a hot tub. It was 60 degrees. They dont even have a heater. You can see they disconnected the gas line and took it out. Then after parking my rental car in the driveway the light wind blew the gate open into the rental car and dented the side. So from after 10 minutes of booking the home they wouldn’t let us out after telling them the only reason we wanted to stay was for the hot tub. They are liars. Everything about this company is not true or accurate. Do yourself a favor and if you have to choose between sleeping in your car or staying here, stay in your car. Do not under any circumstance stay here. I truly hope anyone that tries to book this place reads this first. If this is the only place to stay don’t go to Florida.

Great stay

Had construction on our home so needed a place to stay. Cleanliness was great and the beds were super comfortable. TVs in most rooms and comes fully stocked with the basics.

Property unacceptable, ghosted about refund.

Arrive NYE for a one month stay and Left upon arrival as house was dirty and yard and pool were completely unfenced. I called the owner on arrival and he said he’d look into it and get back to me right away. I requested a refund and was forced to find another place to stay for the month at 7pm on NYE which was difficult and expensive. He asked for more photos about how the property was not as described and over the next few days sent robo-replies about how they’d be looking into it and get back to me. And then I heard nothing. At all. Until the end of the month when they sent check out instructions. I admit I have not had the opportunity to sit down and figure out who at VRBO to escalate this to, as January was an incredibly intensive month for me (why I needed a place to stay) but I’m quite frustrated b/c this was a nearly $9000 stay and I expected to at least be contacted and refunded for most of the 31 days since I contacted them right away and they were unable to offer any kind of solution. Currently the property is unavailable due to “technical problems” so I know that owners and VRBO are aware it’s not rentable. Please contact me.

Frustrating Experience

The keypad to enter the property was not working at arrival and I had to buy replacement batteries to enter (the batteries for the lock mechanism also failed later in the trip, and the keypad was cheap and finicky, often requiring several attempts to work). The house was clean and appeared to have been updated relatively recently, and the pool area was nice. However, It is stocked with what seem to be very cheap furniture, linens, pillows, etc. One nightstand was so flimsy that a leg fell off on the first night as soon as I put something on it. The pillows were so lumpy and uncomfortable that they gave me back pain so I bought replacement pillows (and linens). No info was provided about trash day. Worst of all, the hosts failed to disclose that there is a major construction project RIGHT next to the property from sunrise to sunset. Construction workers knocked on our door several times to tell us to move the car parked in the property's driveway so they could pour concrete nearby. Or to tell us that they would be tearing down the fence on one side of the property. Or that they would be digging a ditch next to the driveway that we should not fall into. Workers came onto the property to work, left tools on the driveway, and even blocked our access to the driveway at one point. Host was not at all helpful. Just sent lengthy but meaningless "customer service speak" messages that were completely unhelpful (e.g. "I assure you our guest resolutions team is working on it.").
