Nice Rental

Overall, our experience was very nice. The apartment was very easy to access, smelled wonderful and the back porch overlooking the garden outside was lovely. While off-street parking is not available for this property, we parked 6 blocks away along the Battery, where there are no time limits and length of parking is not enforced.

The apartment is located very close to one of our favorite restaurants (Husk) and some great shops on Queen and King Streets. The neighborhood is absolutely the most charming and historic on the peninsula. Additionally, most of the crowds have gone to newly opened bars on King Street past Marion Square, so it is nice and quiet on Broad Street at night.

I would highly recommend that the owners improve the quality of both the bed and the bathroom. We did not sleep very well either night. While the air conditioning worked very well (important in Charleston), the bed / headboard was not stable and very rocky. For the price, the quality of the bathroom was not quite up to par. If these improvements were made, we would definitely consider staying here again.

Comfortable apartment, perfect location

This apartment was in the best location for a tourist visiting Charleston. Even though we rented a car, we walked everywhere. Everything you could want was within 20 minutes walking distance - the waterfront, restaurants (casual and fancy) historic homes, etc. We went to a great coffee place, Normandy Bakery, every day for amazing lattes.

The apartment itself is well appointed, and very nicely staged. I would have rated it 5-stars if there was a dishwasher and laundry, but I knew that neither would be there prior to arriving so it wasn't a surprise. Note that this is a walk up. We're not light travelers - 2 babies and 2 pack n plays - so lugging everything up and down wasn't my favorite part of the weekend. Once we got everything up there though, there was plenty of space. While this was in a busy part of Charleston, noise was never an issue - both my babies and my husband and I slept great.

A few very simple things that would have made the stay better: hand soap in the bathroom and kitchen, (new) sponges in the kitchen, a roll of paper towels. We went out and bought all of these things, which wasn't a huge deal, but it would have been nice to have that stuff already in the apartment.

The property manager, Paula, was very attentive to our needs and returned my call immediately when we had a minor issue getting in.

I would recommend this property to someone visiting Charleston.

Ok - not great.

Overall the apartment was nice - not great. First impression was not great because of the worn, torn carpet on the stairwell leading up to the apt. The apartment Itself was clean and decorated nicely. The manager, Paula, was very nice and responsive. The toilet was not working and she arranged for the plumber to come while we were out. She was very flexible with our 'check-in'/check-out time. The location was perfect.
The bedroom faces onto Board St. and there are lots of bright lights on all night. This could be fixed easily by installing some good shades. The balcony is very old and overlooks a courtyard that is overgrown and unkept - not a place you'd want to sit and relax.

Vacationing in Charleston

We went to Charleston for a long weekend and chose this place because of the location which was perfect. No need for a car because everything was in walking distant. The pied-a-terre was very clean and even better than the pictures; we had a glass of wine every afternoon on the patio! This was a perfect place for anyone who wants to be near all that Charleston has to offer. Paula was great to work with and answered all emails and phone calls promptly. Make sure you take a Harbor cruise and carriage ride. Be sure you visit the Pavillion Rooftop bar for a beautiful view of the city, Peninsula Grill and Kaminsky's.

Great location that is truly within walking distance to all downtown points. The place has some funky aspects, but is very comfortable for a couple. We had some plumbing issues and the Paula the manager was very responsive and took care of it quickly. We'd stay here again.
