Come stay in our gorgeous retreat nestled into Telegraph Hill in the North Beach area of San Francisco. This cozy and chic private room/kitchenette/bath is located on a small, quiet street just steps from the energy and beat of North Beach. It is a part of a very small “compound” which includes a courtyard and the house where we live full-time. The shared courtyard is filled with lush, tropical plants. It is safe and protected.
Once you leave the compound you can walk one block up the hill to Coit Tower for fantastic views of downtown, Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, and Alcatraz. Just one block in the other direction are some of the city’s best and most famous restaurants, cafes, and shopping. If you meander a few blocks to the right you will reach Fisherman’s Wharf -- one of San Francisco’s most visited tourist areas. Just blocks in the other direction lies Chinatown and downtown. Whether you are visiting for work or play, you will be central to many activities.
Inside the private room/kitchenette/bath is a queen-sized bed, a folding single bed, and a pack ‘n play for little ones. It has a small well-stocked kitchenette, microwave, a full bath/shower, TV with cable, and WiFi. A washer and dryer are available to use. Fresh sheets, blankets, and towels are all provided.
Secure parking can be found in a number of nearby garages located within three blocks of the studio.

About the Owner
We have lived in San Francisco for over twenty years. As East Coasters we were originally drawn to the city for its vibrancy, artistic nature, and moderate climate. Since moving here we have lived in many parts of the city and have found each area to be unique and special in its own right. However, we especially love North Beach for it’s history, central location, and eclectic vibe.
We work in the fields of health/wellness and are committed to constantly expanding our view of the world. One way we feel we can do this is to open our studio to people visiting from other places.
We have two small friendly dogs (one of whom does bark when she's leaving for a walk -- she never barks otherwise). We are mostly on the go, but also enjoy our quiet family time.

Excellent location and value
Really nice and excellent hostess
But apart from that, Ruth has been really sweet and helpful (I had internet connexion problems at first), and the street is really quiet. I had good rest, naps, and nice evenings in the studio.
It's nicely furbished and the photos are faithful to the place.
And location is fantastic, of course.
I would recommend it to friends.
Great location, adorable studio!
You really feel like you have your own little apartment, and you can come and go as you please without interference. The apartment is comfortable if you'd like to stay in for the night, and though there isn't a microwave, there is a stove, oven, and toaster oven. And coffee maker, very important.
Overall, I highly recommend this studio for a great stay in San Francisco.
Charming Studio, Perfect Location
Securing the reservation with Ruth over the internet was very easy. Checking in upon our arrival was extremely convenient - we were able to pick up our key from a lockbox in front of the property and did not need to set up an in-person meeting at a certain time.
Location is a major plus. Within about 2 miles walking distance of a very high number of notable sites/restaurants and several great neighborhoods. Telegraph Hill is also a very unique area geographically and this adds to the charm. Unlike almost any areas I can think of in other U.S. cities.
There is some street parking available and garages nearby if you have a rental car, however due to the central location a car is not necessary if you are going to be staying inside the city.
Overall we had a great time and thought the place was a good deal. We would stay again!

From the Owner
“The thing we enjoy about this property – besides its great charm -- is the central location to many interesting activities. In the mornings we like to walk down to the Italian/French bakery and buy fresh croissants, biscotti, and bread. Then we hike one block up to Coit Tower and watch the ships come in as we have our treat. On Saturdays we love to walk down the Filbert Steps to the Farmer’s Market at the Ferry Building. Where you can find some of the best local organic foods available. It’s also great for people watching. Many evenings we walk down Grant Ave to local restaurants – there is a fantastic range from super-cheap to high end. The boutiques on Grant Ave offer unique gifts and the clothing stores are excellent for men, women, and children. Our favorite makes exceptional custom shoes and coats. Another daily activity is taking our small dogs to Washington Square Park just two blocks down the hill. At the park we watch groups of folks doing tai chi, dance, and martial arts. Sometimes there is a saxophone player making the most incredible music. In addition to the many activities within steps of our home, we find ourselves leaving the car at home while we walk or take short bus rides to downtown, Chinatown, and the Marina.”

- This is a charming studio located on a quiet street in North Beach/Telegraph Hill. There is some street noise on trash pick up days and street cleaning days. Otherwise the street is very quiet and you will feel like you are worlds away from the bustling city.
