About the Owner

My name is Laurie.

I am an author, artist, musician and mom.

The log cabin is my get-away where I write my books and movies. Its my refuge, my home away from home and my heart.

As a child, I saved a scrapbook of pictures of my dream home...

and the first moment I saw our cabin, I knew this was IT!

The smell of pines and being a minute stroll to the beach is my favorite part of being in Tahoe.

My desire is to share a yesteryear, nostalgic, homestead restored with all the fascinations of modern comfort without compromising its ambiance has come true. The hand-made, authentic, cozy log cabin duplex, boasts of spaciousness, yet intimate for two which meets my needs for alone time to create and family time to build memories. I have been coming to this log cabin for over 20 years and it still holds me captive with it's beauty.

Dreamt and believed all my life that someday I would live in a log cabin up in the mountains on a lake. Dream came realized more than vividly true, I feel BLISSFUL! :)))

A home that warms the heart.

  • 5 of 5
If I were you - I wouldn't look at any other homes if you are looking for a calm, rustic, warm ambience as your Lake Tahoe getaway home. This cabin has all the necessities you need! From kitchen utensils to having a washing machine! Aside from the warm cozy beds and feasible kitchen, I absolutely LOVED the christmas lights that hugged the stair rails and ceiling. I'd say this is a perfect home for a romantic getaway or a calm family vacation. You do have neighbors so being a part animal isn't quite a wise decision; besides, the relaxing ambience is so strong, you forget what partying even is! It's a home that definitely warmed my heart and I assure you, that it will warm yours too.

Had a great time at rhe cabin. Can't wait to come back. So sad Tahoe is in need of some major snow though.
Just 2 blocks from this beach in the picture. Can't wait to come in the summer time!

Wonderful Time

  • 5 of 5
I was so excited when we arrived at the cabin. It was just like the pictures shown on line. It was just so cozy and actually quite large. The kitchen was fully equipped, the cabin was clean, there were plenty of extra towels and linens, even some beach chairs to take down to the lake. Excellent location, walking distant to the lake and rental station for kayaks etc. I loved the candles and special lighting in the cabin as well. Would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a warm, cozy fun place to stay while in Lake Tahoe. You are only a mile or so from the casinos and Safeway. The cabin was clean and the owner left no detail untouched. You will have a wonderful time. My next trip to Lake Tahoe will include a stay at this fantastic cablin.

What a great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5
This was my fiance and my first trip to Lake Tahoe, so we were a little unsure about booking a place and location sight unseen. But, we definitely hit a home run with this cabin. First of all, Laurie was great to work with and a real pleasure. The cabin itself is fantastic; great location, warm, cozy, spacious, and walking distance to the lake and some other shops, etc. It was just the two of us, but the cabin easily holds 6-8 ppl, in my opinion. No question about it, if we come back to Lake Tahoe(and I certainly hope to soon), we will contact Laurie about staying here again.

Cozy, Comfortable and Charming

  • 5 of 5
This is a beautiful place to stay in South Lake Tahoe. There is a warmth and richness here that you don't often see in a rental property. It's authentically rustic while being "plush" at the same time. Beautiful soft leather furnishings, soft lighting and a great kitchen made us feel right at home. I will definitely return to this cabin the next time I head up to Tahoe. One of the best experiences you can have? Working with such gracious owner! Thank you for our great stay in this lovely home.

Owner's Response: I really liked the words, richness and plush.
Strange to have nostalgia blend with all the immunities... but the log cabin is all that!

Location

From the Owner

It is everything I dreamt of. An authentic, home-made mountain cabin in the pines... a few steps from the sandy beach, yet near enough to the city and all its activities, that I can be away from the noise and hustle and bustle, but skiing, shopping, gambling within 5 minutes. Hand-made of the most beautiful trees from Canada. Original owner owned the original Tahoe wood mill, and hand made all the paneling, roof, doors and details. It took 5 years to build, while a whole subdivision in the neighborhood was built. The quality and uniqueness of everything about this cabin is beyond my wildest imagination. I feel swept up in a fairytale everytime I stay, and am sad to leave... and can't wait to get back!
