Gorgeous 1 Bedroom Apartment Sleeps 4 In Central Manhattan
Upper West Side Manhattan

Excellent, quiet location, close to everything!!

  • 4 of 5
This apartment was great for our stay in New York, gave the space we needed after staying in hotels, the street is busy but the apartment was so quiet, didn't hear the traffic at all, also has security. Location is very good situated between 2 subway stations so it was easy to get into the centre of Manhattan, also close to Central Park. The only thing we were disappointed with - no washing machine - after travelling for 4 weeks we were expecting a washing machine to do our washing, there is a laundry close by but didnt want to use that. Also cleaning fee ($150) seemed a bit excessive for the size of the apartment. Would definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: Unfortunately many townhouses in New York do not have a washer and dryer in the building and it is not included in the listing. There is a laundry mat and drop off laundry service nearby. The cleaning fee covers the fee our housekeeper charges as well as laundry service for towels and linens.

Great location

  • 4 of 5
Really enjoyed this apartment -- for the most part it was clean and quiet considering its location in NYC. Easy access to Central park -- ran there 3 of 4 days, and also easy location to the Hudson greenway, ran there once. Close to subways and other amenities. One thing I have found helpful in other VRBO's or AirB&B's -- when the owners have a little notebook with helpful information. The lady to let us in spoke poor English and gave us faulty information -- wrong wifi password/TV instructions. Not that it was a big deal -- texted the owner and she was able to help. However, I really think having a little notebook with helpful hints about the rental has been very beneficial in the past. Not a lot of work -- just information like wifi passwords, local favorites for restaurants or grocery stores. I have found this so helpful in past experiences and I don't think it is much work for the owner. Just a little suggestion -- overall we enjoyed our stay in this clean, comfortable and convenient location in NYC!! Would recommend this to anyone. The pictures are accurate and it is clean and safe.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your input. Our housekeeper Rosa did help us with this check in as we were away on vacation ourselves during this particular stay. My partner or I nearly always greet our guests and on the rare occasion that we are away, guests are informed ahead of time that Rosa will be helping and we are reachable by phone or email at any time.
We have provided printed booklets in the past and have found that many guests like to take it with them on day outings and simply forget to return it. Another solution we are fond of: Homeaway now offers a wonderful hospitality app that provides all rental information incluidng wi-fi information via your mobile phone. You are sent a welcome email before arrival and may access your rental info at any time.
Thank you for your input! We are always happy to learn new ways to improve our guest experience.

Gorgeous, Clean, Chic Apartment; Best Stay Ever!

  • 5 of 5
This was our first time booking a vacation rental instead of a hotel and absolutely loved the experience. We were greeted at the apartment with two sets of keys; great for our group of two couples. We loved the luxurious style of this apartment while feeling right at home with the extra space and convenience of a kitchen. It was clean and appeared as advertised. We found both the bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. The location was amazing; the building is a nice brownstone on a quiet residential street with several great spots to dine nearby; we recommend Spring Natural Kitchen on 82nd and Columbus. We walked to Central Park and the Museum on Natural History. The nearest subway was an easy walk and short ride to midtown and other attractions. This was a smooth, comfortable and lovely experience in NYC; we will definitely be staying here on our next visit.

Beautiful Apartment & Great Location

We so enjoyed our stay in New York. The apartment was lovely; I was a little concerned about the past review of the furniture condition, but everything appeared fresh and clean. The pull out couch was comfortable and we had everything we needed. The hosts were gracious and timely on our arrival. The location is amazing; great dining and shopping and close the subway. We had an amazing time and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

September in Manhattan

Location was outstanding, near the subway and central park. The furniture and rugs need to be cleaned or replaced. Stains throughout. Also, there were no towels or rags in the kitchen. Needs extra linens and towels in the closet for the guests to use. I would recommend this to people once the above changes are incorporated. I would rate this location at a 3.5.

Owner's Response: Update:
The sofa and lounge chair covers have bee replaced. The rugs have also been replaced. Extra linens are kept in the pull out storage under the sofa bed and extra towels are stored in the closet. Laundry service is also available by request for long stays. Fresh dish sponges are under the kitchen sink, and paper towels are stocked in the cabinet. Thank you for the input!

Awesome area.. Needs covers for the furniture...

The location of the apt was great. The size was great. However, the furniture was not clean. It's white furniture so you are afraid to relax and there are stains everywhere. The cleaning job was rushed but it costed us 150. If you stay here bring Clorox wipes and do a once over. On the brighter side it is near the children's museum and there was an awesome street fest near.

The HISTORY of our neighborhood.

The West 80s were already attracting residents in 1844, the year that Edgar Allan Poe wrote “The Raven” in a farmhouse on what became West 84th Street. Soon came Central Park and a plan for the area’s streets, which were filled with town houses as the 19th century waned. Local fortunes fell after World War II, as drugs and crime eventually took hold, but an influx of new residents and civic pride began to turn things around again by the 1980s.

Today, the area is a clean and quiet residential neighborhood famous for lovely tree-lined streets and brownstone buildings and townhouses, many of which are landmarks. Elegant per-war buildings line Broadway, Central Park West, Riverside Drive, and West End Avenue.

The Upper West Side serves as a great home base for visitors looking for an authentic New York City experience; it provides an escape from the chaos of Midtown and other heavily tourist areas while keeping every NYC convenience close by.

It is a great neighborhood for shopping, especially at gourmet stores, like Zabar's and Fairway and is a train hop away from the shops at Columbus Circle.
