Very impressed with appearance and location.

Our stay in the cabin was as comfortable and convenient as being in our own home. We cant think of anything else one would need or expect in a vacation rental! We highly recommend the cabin and hope to visit again next year.

Beautiful location, roomy cottage, gracious owner

  • 5 of 5
We were so pleased to be able to stay at this property.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, the furnishings were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with everything a guest would need to prepare a meal.

The icing on the cake was the owner's help in acquainting us with the area in and around Custer.

We would recommend this cottage to our family, friends and anyone desiring a restful, peaceful atmosphere, challenging hikes, close proximity to the scenic Custer State Park and Mount Rushmore.

Absolutely wonderful place!!!!

  • 5 of 5
WOW!!-what an absolutely, positively, perfect "cabin" for our visit to the Black Hills, Custer State Park, and the Badlands (and everything in-between!!). My husband and I enjoyed our stay here so very much-it was with much regret that we left!! The house is so (SUPER) clean, so comfortable, and so perfectly located to all the wonderful things this area has to offer. It is in a great central location-we went to Custer State Park a number of times to hike, picnic, and just sightsee because it is literally "just up the road". You could spend so much time just using the park alone, but there is so much else to explore too. A week wasn't enough, we wanted to do MORE!!
You will love coming back to the cabin--it has everything you need, or want, and then some. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare ALL of our meals right there. We would have a nice breakfast, pack up a picnic lunch, be out all day, and then come home for "happy hour" and dinner. I enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, and outside on the grill. We enjoyed coming back to the house so much that we didn't even eat out ONCE!!! (well, maybe once!!)
Even though we had unseasonably chilly weather, I had my (early) morning coffee outside each day and watched for deer. We saw so many right in the yard and across the street!! The grounds are kept up so nicely, and the view right at the end of the driveway is of the Black Hills themselves. Super location!!! And extremely quiet.
I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our stay, but instead I will just recommend that you go and see for yourself what a wonderful time you will have at this house!! I HOPE we get to go back to South Dakota sometime in the future and I would definitely stay here again--ONLY here, as a matter of fact!!!! (if I could build a nice vacation home for my husband and I, this would be it!!!!)

Fantastic

This little cabin was perfect for us and had everything we could possibly need. It was clean and exactly as pictured on the internet. The owners even took their time and came over to met us and to see if we needed anything. It is in a great location for sightseeing at Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Lake Sylvan, Needles Highway and Custer State Park. We even took a day trip to the Badlands. I would recommend this property to anyone needing a place to stay in the area..

Delightful vacation home

  • 5 of 5
Perfect getaway for our vacation to the Black Hills. Cabin was clean and comfortable and located within easy driving distance to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and the Mickelson Trail. Loved the feeling of being in the country, quiet evenings and being able to see the stars at night but yet convenient to Custer for dining and shopping. Have already recommended the place to a friend at work who is interested in visiting the area next year.

Beautiful cabin ideally located between Custer and the State Park. Very very clean and quite. Prefect for my wife and I. We met Ken who was very friendly. We have no complaints but would ask that you look into installing wifi. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and look forward to visiting again. We have already recommended the cabin to a friend who is planning a trip.

Owner's Response: Great to hear the cabin worked well for you. We do have Wifi in the cabin but did not realize our guest was unable to connect to it until it was mentioned in the review.

Location

From the Owner

In 2005 my husband and I were looking for a place in the Black Hills for when we were able to retire that was centrally located to all that the Hills have to offer. We built this cabin and have used it for our many vacations to the Black Hills. Being adjacent to the national forest we have enjoyed many beautiful hikes and abundant wildlife just outside our door way. Since we recently completed the building of our permanent home we are now able to share this piece of heaven with others.
