A Note About The Neighborhood

Asheville is a small city filled with folks who think in all directions, like to have fun, appreciate art and craftsmanship, and don't mind hard work. These things are evident in the eclectic nature and variety of businesses, shoppes, and menus one will find in every corner of the city. You could take a class on mushroom cultivation, permaculture, yoga, tai chi, print art, or brewing. Or join a tour! There is guided mountain biking, guided art strolls, historical tours, comedy tours, haunted tours, haunted comedy tours, pedal powered trolley brew tours, and running or cycling- brew tours. About the Owner

My family and I moved into town a couple years back to improve our daughter's option for school and we have found so much cool stuff around us! From mushroom growing supplies to award winning breweries, sake and hard cider houses, this area is a gourmet's delight!

Better than advertised

  • 5 of 5
The apartment was much larger than I expected, and the attention to detail was impressive. Handmade soap, spa quality bed complete with a white noise machine, a hot tub that was both clean and HOT (so many are a luke warm disappointment), local roasted coffee and organic snacks upon arrival and little bits of thoughtfulness such as suntan lotion, flashlights in the night stand, shopping cards for the nearest grocery, and the list of Joe's picks that were spot on. All located within a few blocks of Biscuit Head, Sunny Point and Universal Joint. The ideal place for those seeking the West Asheville vibe.

Great home in West Asheville

  • 5 of 5
I loved this place! It is just as described, and within walking distance to so many things. After staying in West Asheville, I don't know if I would want to stay downtown, again. It was great.

The beds are so comfortable. It was great having a yard for my dog. All the basic necessities were there plus some other fun stuff (like sidewalk chalk!)

Everything was very clean.

I'll be back!

Cozy and Convenient!

  • 5 of 5
Went for a quick getaway and wish we had stayed longer! Charming home nestled on a quiet, yet convenient street of West Asheville. Could walk to yoga, grocery store, and the best restaurants anyone could ask for. Especially enjoyed Biscuit Head, and Sunny Point Cafe! There were other hot restaurants nearby that we ended up not having time to try. About a five minute drive from downtown and the River Arts district.Owners are a warm and friendly couple who happened to be working on additional property in back (they are expanding!), yet we never heard them outside. We truly appreciated the thoughtful snacks (and excellent coffee!),toiletries, and even the yoga mat. Would highly recommend staying here. House came equipped with modern conveniences of hot tub, cable television, Internet, updated appliances, and generous family living area, yet offered the quaint "yester-year" feel of a charming kitchen that reminded me of Grandma's. Convenient off street parking with no steps to front door. Perfect for those needing handicapped access but also great for anyone who can appreciate a quick hike to woods in one direction and city amenities in another. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Great neighborhood and quiet

  • 5 of 5
We are a couple with 2 dogs. The neighborhood was adorable and all the restaurants extremely dog friendly. It was a short walk to restaurants in West Asheville. Also found a great little yoga studio just a short walk away. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was being a basement apartment. The local chips and hummus provided by the owner was a nice touch for a couple of hungry travelers. We found the king bed to be very comfortable, and linens and towels were fresh and clean. Thanks again would highly recommend.

Thank you, Carson and Joe, for a wonderful visit! The locally made chips and hummus... the fresh ground coffee you brought... the spacious, clean rooms... the hot tub ready for our use upon arrival... the only way our stay could have been better was if it were longer.

The place is as-described. Clean, well-stocked, perfectly located and the "hosts" (when we did see them) were gracious and helpful. The only surprise was how well we liked staying someplace other than a hotel!
