Owner, developer and manager of Las Ventanas del Mar. My wife, two dogs and I moved here in 2005 and have loved the whole experience. We learned Spanish, the local culture and how to live in paradise... it is very different from living in Atlanta but, we really don't miss the hour commute to work everyday! Our first child was born here, in Costa Rica in January of 2008 and our second in December of 2011. The medical care here is great and the amount of one on one with doctors is much better than anything in the U.S.. We have always been treated with kindness by the locals and it is easy to see why Costa Rica is ranked among one of the best places to live in the world. The local people are easy going and truly happy... this explains one of the national sayings; 'Pura Vida' which translates to 'pure life'.
“The story is a long one, of how we ended up here full time... but, I would be happy to share it with you during your stay. One of the main reasons we started visiting here was for the deep sea fishing and life style... we never dreamed it would become our full time job and place of residency. It continues to be a pleasure and on going dream.”
Some of the world's best surfing is only minutes from your door! Beach breaks, point breaks and reef breaks are up and down the coast. Playa Carrillo has several tide pools to relax in and observe tropical reef fish at low tide. Playa Samara and Playa Carrillo are also blessed to have around 26 restaurants that we would recommend to anyone on any given day! From local cuisine to Asian fusion, Thai, Italian and much, much more!!!
“The surrounding nature provides an abundance of outdoor activities... from an easy stroll down the beach to surfing some of the best waves in all of Central America, there is always something to do. The views are truly inspiring and create an awesome backdrop for unlimited relaxation. The on-site lake and pool are just a small dose of the water activities around... there are several beaches within minutes. Some busy with restaurants and bars on the beach, some with nothing but pristine waters and palm trees.”
