Livin' like the locals!

We decided to rent this house based on previous reviews, but didn't expect them to be accurate...the too good to be true thing. Tyrone and Jennifer were extremely accommodating, especially with our check-in/out times, as we booked the flights prior to the house. The location is perfect to enjoy the local living while still being able to play tourist.

The neighborhood eateries are within a few blocks in a safe area. The streetcar takes you everywhere you would need and has a one-day pass available for $3.00...well worth the cost as one ride is $1.25.

As far as meals go, we would recommend Wakin' Bakin' for breakfast, and the burgers at the Beachcorner are worth the few block walk. The cemetaries are within walking distance as well as City Park and NOMA. Expect to be impressed!

Thank you Tyrone and Jennifer for a memorable stay!

Charming, private and close to everything!

The pictures don't do it justice, this space is beautiful! When we arrived, we had a small issue with the lock on the door, but right away the owners let us in and everything was perfect. The streetcar is right outside the front door, and the canal st. cemeteries are within walking distance. The only issue that we found was that it was very difficult to find a place that delivered, as this location is in "mid city" i believe. Luckily, the apartment supplied local menu's and saved out night! We met the owners, who live next door, and found them to be extremely welcoming and friendly! I went to NoLA for a work conference, and found this place only after searching all hotel's in the city it seemed. I am SO GLAD the city was sold out, as I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. A return trip is being planned, and I am hoping to be a repeat visitor to this adorable and warm shotgun condo! Enjoy!!!

Loved Mid Town location, comfortable home base

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I shared this rental with a couple of friends who we hadn't seen in years. The Mid City location is excellent and we used streetcars or walked everywhere (be careful as a pedestrian in New Orleans, crosswalks are ignored by drivers). There are excellent places in the neighborhood to eat. The fairgrounds and city park are a short streetcar ride away. Downtown is also just a few minutes away via streetcar.

The house is clean, comfortable and well-equipped. It's a quiet location and a great home base to explore and enjoy New Orleans – a truly great city. We got to meet Tyrone, Jenny, and their new baby. They're great folks and offered us good advice about the best local spots.

We especially liked Angelo Brocato's Italian Ice Cream & Italian Desserts on N. Carrolton Avenue.

New Years in New Orleans

  • 4 of 5
Great location for a visit to New Orleans. The rental was exactly as described and pictured, great location for visiting the area and nice to have a kitchen when we felt like cooking. We had a rental car for part of our visit and had no problems finding street parking. Otherwise, the streetcar was super convenient. We had one slight issue with the house and called the owner. She had a great attitude and took care of it right away. We would stay at this house again if we return to New Orleans.

Wonderful Time

  • 5 of 5
This was our first trip to New Orleans and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The house is in a convenient location that is close enough to downtown to make it easily accessible, but also far enough away from the hustle and bustle. The owners are wonderfully helpful with anything you need. The house is linear so you have to walk through rooms to get to another; you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the bathroom, and through both bedrooms to get back to the kitchen... We made this work, but it could be difficult if someone is in the room sleeping/changing/etc. and you need to walk by. I think our favorite part of the house is the stereo system throughout the entire house! We loved it! Also, I must say we went to The Beach Corner right down the street (recommended to us by the owner) and had the BEST bacon cheese fries that we've ever had! We actually went back for a second helping! We would recommend this place to everyone. Thanks to the owners for a wonderful stay.

Lovely Vacation Rental

  • 5 of 5
We have been renting vacation homes for the last few years and by far this home was my favorite. It allowed us to stay in a lovely area of the city, in a home that has been beautifully restored. The home comfortably fit four adults and a teenager. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, a washer and dryer and even laundry detergent. It was also well furnished, had comfortable room temperatures and was very clean. As a suggestion, should you stay here, make sure you visit Blue Dot Donuts across the street for fresh donuts.
