About the Owner

Our names are Hisham Nasr & Ana Margarita Saenz. We have been married for 15 years and love living in New Orleans. Professionally we are both dental specialists in Periodontics , implants and Oral Surgery. We were blessed with twins in 2010 and decided to move to a bigger house only 8 blocks away to accommodate our new life. But, could not part with our beautiful home on Laurel Street. We had many offers to buy our house, but opted to keep it and share it with vacationers to enjoy the best of New Orleans.

Quiet retreat

  • 5 of 5
This home is a beautiful retreat in a quiet neighborhood after long days of sightseeing. The beds are super comfortable, the living room is spacious, and the house was immaculate. It has 3 full bathrooms, which is not easy to find. We had 3 couples in our group, the perfect number for this house, although there is a cot for an extra person. Walking distance to Whole Foods and several restaurants. We especially enjoyed Toast. The streetcar is a bit of a hike on a hot day but definitely doable. The owners are attentive and although we did not need anything it is nice to know that they are close by. We would stay here again.

Feeling at home in the Big Easy!

  • 5 of 5
We came to New Orleans for my wedding, also serving as a family reunion. We felt right at home from the moment we stepped in. Ana Margarita was an excellent host, and provided recommendations, her hospitality and helpfulness were amazing.

The house is beautiful and the pictures do not judge all the details it has. Really high ceilings, curated art, and just the right furniture in every spot. The backyard/garden was very peaceful. The neighborhood and neighbors were super nice. And how about the location, steps away from interesting Magazine St, Audobon Park for a walk or run, and the convenience of groceries stores such as WholeFoods and Winn-Dixie within walking distance. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and hope next time we are in town, the house is available!

Rental for Family/Wedding Weekend

  • 5 of 5
I rented this beautiful home for my parents, my sister and brother-in-law, friend and myself. I had my dream wedding in NOLA on April 6th and this house was perfect for all of us prior to my wedding day! The house is spacious and decorated beautifully! It was clean and well maintained with two parking spaces in the drive. We arrived a little early into NOLA and the owner met us at the house and let us arrive 2 hours early, which was nice because we had lots of items for the wedding in tow! This house is within walking distance to so many great things! Of course we went to Whole Foods to get items for the house and it was a super easy walk. The day of the wedding it was so nice to have the large master room to get ready in. I had make up/hair girls come to the house and there was nice natural light coming through the large windows in the room. It was nice to relax in such a large space to get ready with my mom and sisters. There is also a great kitchen and it was nice to have my mom make us a delicious breakfast in the morning too!! I realize we wouldn't have been able to do this in the hotels in the quarter (also the hotels were outrageously priced for WWE weekend)! The weekend went by so fast with wedding activities that I feel we didn't get to enjoy the neighborhood completely. We all kept finding ourselves planning our next trip back so we could really walk around and enjoy the neighborhood!! I know one day my sister, brother in law and friend walked down and took the trolley into town. They said it was easily accessible. All in all, this was a perfect place for us to relax and enjoy the wedding weekend. Pictures don't do this place justice! If you are looking for a nice, spacious, clean space....look no further!!!! The next time we travel with others, we will be staying here!!! Thanks for an amazing stay!!!

Wedding Headquarters!

  • 5 of 5
What a wonderful home for our stay in New Orleans for our daughter's wedding in April. It was such a warm and welcoming environment, and easy for us to get around in the Uptown area. We have stayed at other properties in the past, and this one was by far the cleanest and best maintained. Surely would like to come back and stay again, and will recommend this to others.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at Laurel home. We were very close to grocery and were able to walk there for shopping, we also rode our bikes to the park just 3 blocks away! Loved the space and took advantage of the great warm weather to relax in the backyard for morning coffee! Definitely recommend this place!

peaceful home base

  • 5 of 5
Our party of three couples recently visited New Orleans for the first time. The occasion was my wife's fiftieth birthday. We had done some fairly extensive homework on the City, the neighborhood, and on the rental house, but were still a bit apprehensive about what our experience would be like. New Orleans is incredible. We were hard pressed to choose what we wanted to do, so many choices. We enjoyed the french Quarter, Frenchmen Street, a 3 hour bike tour with Big Easy Bikes, pre Mardis Gras parade activity in the neighborhood, and a general sense of comfort and personal security. The Uptown-Carrollton neighborhood is incredibly friendly, with more beautiful homes than I thought possible. Early morning walks and coffee at local cafes on Magazine Street were great. Last but not least, Laurel House. What a fine place to start and end each day. The house felt very spacious for six people, the kitchen facilities were exactly what we wanted for our meals at home, the 3 bedrooms and bathrooms were just right for three couples. The house was immaculate and the back porch and yard felt great for early mornings and end of day.
I didn't know what to expect, never having rented a vrbo before this trip. I think I've either been spoiled for other destinations, or have had a great intro to this way of staying in Cities around the world. Ana and "H" have a wonderful property. I would recommend anyone looking for a peaceful home base in New orleans rent here.

From the Owner

The neighborhood is one of the best kept secrets in the city. It's quite simply all you could ask for to live like a local while being at convenient distances to everything New Orleans has to offer. Everyone who walks into this property is in awe by its beauty, excellent condition, quality of furnishings, modern amenities and feel good sensation. Why stock the pantry when all the healthy choices are at Whole Foods Organic Market two blocks away? Feel like a cappucino and people watching? Take your pick from 5 coffee shops within 1-3 minutes walking distance. A fresh pastry for breakfast? Laurel bakery is half a block away. A drink before dinner? Enjoy the local scene at 'Dos Jefes' or St. Joe's 2-3 blocks away. A food connoisseur? Go to where the locals in the know-how come to this neighborhood to dine: Martinique, Crepe Nanou, Patois, Flaming Torch and Lillette all within 2-5 minutes. Feel like jogging? Head to St Charles Avenue and Audubon Park just a few blocks away. Golfer? The Audubon Golf Club is just down the road off Magazine Street. A day at the zoo with the kids? The Audubon zoo is 4 minutes away. Like biking? Ride 5 minutes to the cycling path on top of the levee by the park and take it all the way to the airport and back. Love horses? Rent them at Audubon Park. Everyone who stayed here plans to come back, come and ENJOY!
