About the Owner

Our names are Hisham Nasr & Ana Margarita Saenz. We have been married for 16 years and love living in New Orleans. Professionally we are both dental specialists in Periodontics , implants and Oral Surgery. We were blessed with twins in 2010 and decided to move to a bigger house only 8 blocks away to accommodate our new life. But, could not part with our beautiful home on Laurel Street. We had many offers to buy our house, but opted to keep it and share it with vacationers to enjoy the best of New Orleans.

Great Uptown Home

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at this house in May for a long weekend. We were there with our sons and their families including a three year old and two infants. The house was ideal for all. Very comfortable. Lovely patio. Five minute walk to Whole Foods and 3/4 mile to the Zoo and Audobon Park. The house is equipped with all the essentials. Ana had two pack and plays available for the little ones. Great neighborhood. Would definitely go back. Only downside was it was challenging getting taxis to come pick us up to go down down but we learned if we started calling early we would eventually get one.

Beautiful house in a great area of New Orleans. THE RED SWING IN THE PATIO ❤️ Everything is very clean and organized. Aubudon park is 0.7 miles away perfect for an afternoon walk ot jog (4 miles if you include the trail at Aubudon). 1 block away from Magazine St. - many local vendors, bars, restaurants. We stayed there for a whole week and if I ever go back to NOLA with a big group will stay here again.LOVED IT! We had a car that we used for the wedding events since we where a big group, but not needed if planning on staying in that area. Can take trolley to French Quarter, everything else that you may need is walking distance and very safe.

Uptown Gem

My wife and I stayed here with two other couples. We had plenty of space - having a private bath for each couple was a major bonus. The house was very charming, clean, and tastefully decorated. We all enjoyed the mornings spent on the back porch drinking coffee and swinging on the porch swing. The neighborhood was stately, safe, clean, and relatively close to most attractions. We enjoyed the Audubon Park, Whole Foods, Toast for breakfast, Slice for pizza, Domilise for Po'Boys, and the District Coffee Bar for afternoon espressos. The St. Charles Street Car was a bit of a hike (about 12 blocks), but the walk through the beautiful neighborhoods made the journey worth it. Overall, I would highly recommend this house. I hope to come back and stay at Laurel Street.

Great Easter Weekend visit to New Orleans

  • 5 of 5
We have been to Nola before and know the area fairly well. This is by far my favorite house we have rented. The location is great and the house is very charming. All beds are comfortable. Kitchen is great. Wireless is also available, a must for teenagers. The location is convenient to many restaurants (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Toast is a great breakfast just a block from the house and is fantastic. Slice is a great pizza place. Whole Foods and Winn Dixie are both very close grocery stores. The owners were fantastic to work with and we hope to visit again soon.

Great Stay Uptown

  • 5 of 5
This is a fantastic house filled with classic New Orleans charm. We had four adults and two young children, and everyone had a blast. The house is in a great location, walking distance from Magazine Street and close to many other Uptown attractions. It is extremely well-furnished (the beds are more comfortable than virtually any hotel!), and the owner went out of her way to respond when we had a question. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would definitely recommend the house to anyone looking for an authentic Uptown New Orleans vacation.

Lovely place with lots of room in great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5
This was a fantastic place. We had 3 couples there, one from Oregon who had never been to NOLA. It is in a perfect location to explore the Garden District, and very easy to down to the Quarter. This was a perfect place for 3 adult couples with a lot of room for everyone. Also nice to have a driveway in which to park since we had a car. The owner is extremely easy to work with, easy to contact, and even surprised us with a gift of free homemade cookies! We well definitely return there again, as my wife and I visit NOLA at least twice a year. We well also recommend this to other friends who are visiting NOLA and seeking a place to rent other then a motel/hotel.

Location

From the Owner

The neighborhood is one of the best kept secrets in the city. It's quite simply all you could ask for to live like a local while being at convenient distances to everything New Orleans has to offer. Everyone who walks into this property is in awe by its beauty, excellent condition, quality of furnishings, modern amenities and feel good sensation. Why stock the pantry when all the healthy choices are at Whole Foods Organic Market two blocks away? Feel like a cappucino and people watching? Take your pick from 5 coffee shops within 1-3 minutes walking distance. A fresh pastry for breakfast? Laurel bakery is half a block away. A drink before dinner? Enjoy the local scene at 'Dos Jefes' or St. Joe's 2-3 blocks away. A food connoisseur? Go to where the locals in the know-how come to this neighborhood to dine: Martinique, Crepe Nanou, Patois, Flaming Torch and Lillette all within 2-5 minutes. Feel like jogging? Head to St Charles Avenue and Audubon Park just a few blocks away. Golfer? The Audubon Golf Club is just down the road off Magazine Street. A day at the zoo with the kids? The Audubon zoo is 4 minutes away. Like biking? Ride 5 minutes to the cycling path on top of the levee by the park and take it all the way to the airport and back. Love horses? Rent them at Audubon Park. Everyone who stayed here plans to come back, come and ENJOY!
