Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)

In the heart of the French Quarter, this lovely and secluded pied a terre is just four and a half blocks away from Jackson Square and ½ a block from Armstrong Park. Dating back to the early 1800’s, this stucco structure was the slave quarter to the main house, and both are excellent examples of early Creole architecture. The neighborhood was that of free people of color and the famed Voodoo priestess, Marie Laveau, lived just two doors away. This beautifully furnished and appointed residence sleeps five and consists of two bedrooms with one bath between and a large fully furnished kitchen. A balcony with stunning roof top views is accessible from both bedrooms and overlooks a large courtyard that guests have full access to. There are laundry facilities on the premises. Cable and internet are both provided

Vacation Getaway 12/4/2014

  • 5 of 5
We stayed in this lovely quaint house this last weekend arriving on Thursday and departing on Monday. We had two couples in our party arriving and departing at various times and Lee, the owner, was so sweet and accommodating. The location is amazing and the house was adorable. Lovely Elliot came and visited on numerous occasions when we happened to be stopping back by (he looks like a pillow pet!!!). The courtyard was gorgeous and the area was superb. We were on foot the entire time there and easily found a nearby convenience store, a ton of restaurants, shops, bars. Bourbon street is near enough to crawl home but not so close that you can hear the clatter. I felt 100% safe and secure and cozy during our entire stay. Lee is a gracious host and pointed out several areas of interest and helped with anything we needed. We had all the necessities upon arrival and the balcony of the upstairs bedroom/bath areas are beautiful to wake up to. What a great time!!!!!

A few short blocks to Bourbon Street - but a world away. Cute, historic accommodation - quiet but within an easy walk to the craziness of Bourbon Street. Close to the less seedy end of Bourbon. The owner was terrific to work with - offering restaurant suggestions. The area felt safe at night

You will LOVE THIS place

We stayed here for 4 nights in what was an arctic blast for New Orleans.
But our host was so lovely and sweet. She said to all of us: "Do you need warmer clothes? I have some extra capes" (very New Orleans I must add).
The location could not be better.
The host was so accommodating (I loved her dog who came to visit some mornings. It was a lovely back house typical New Orleans style.
I will definitely stay again.

First trip to NOLA

  • 5 of 5
We recently stayed at this property, we were 2 couples. This property was ideal. Location-perfect. We walked to everything in the French Quarter, to Frenchmen street, to Harrah's we grabbed a streetcar from Royal St to the Garden District. We felt safe, even afterdark. There is a market around the corner, so we loaded up on breakfast foods, snacks, water bottles and wine/beer.
The pictures show the house exactly as is. There is a very nice kitchen(not shown). This house is perfect for 2 couples. The house is dark,(due to no windows on sides or back of house, typical in the French Quarter). Open the shutters during day and it brings in some light downstairs. Plenty of light for the bedrooms.
The home was well stocked!! Plenty of bathroom towels, kitchen well stocked to make meals. Bedroom mattresses VERY comfortable. The home was very clean.
The courtyard is awesome, it was my favorite spot. I would have my morning tea there, we would relax after a long day of sightseeing with Happy Hour, before we headed back out for evening fun. The courtyard is quiet, private and filled with lush plants/flowers. The owners respected our privacy and were not out there when we were.(it's a shared courtyard with owners house). Their dog Elliot would visit with us, cute friendly dog.
We felt very safe there, as there is a locked door to enter courtyard then the house door lock.
The owner was very accessible, answered our many questions, checked on us to make sure all was well. I made a few requests prior to arriving and all were responded to.
I would definetly rent this property again. If you want a truly New Orleans feel, this property will not disappoint.

Wonderful!

There were 3 of us in town for Southern Decadence week, and this little place was perfect for us! We parked the car and never had to use it! Walk to everything! The owners are very friendly, helpful and their little dog (Eliot) is very sweet too! The courtyard is beautifully landscaped and offers a nice, quiet escape from the craziness just outside. We walked to all the gay bars at all hours and felt very safe.
