Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)

In the heart of the French Quarter, this lovely and secluded pied a terre is just four and a half blocks away from Jackson Square and ½ a block from Armstrong Park. Dating back to the early 1800’s, this stucco structure was the slave quarter to the main house, and both are excellent examples of early Creole architecture. The neighborhood was that of free people of color and the famed Voodoo priestess, Marie Laveau, lived just two doors away. This beautifully furnished and appointed residence sleeps five and consists of two bedrooms with one bath between and a large fully furnished kitchen. A balcony with stunning roof top views is accessible from both bedrooms and overlooks a large courtyard that guests have full access to. There are laundry facilities on the premises. Cable and internet are both provided

In the HEART of NOLA

We had a GREAT time!!! From the booking to the stay and the personal service received while there. This is a great place to stay. A few suggestions. Make sure you can climb stairs. The bedrooms are upstairs, was not a problem for us, however, could be for some. The owner is attentive and caring. The location could not be ANY better for the price. It is a WIN/WIN!!! Stay HERE for SURE!!!

Almost Perfect Hideaway in NO

  • of 5
If you are looking for a safe, quiet, attractive, perfectly located apartment, this may be the one for you. The semi-private courtyard and your own second story covered porch are a big plus. If you plan to cook the kitchen is set up nicely and not too small. The two upstairs bedrooms are attractive and comfortable. The couch downstairs is comfortable for an extra person. The only downside, if there is one, is the steep, narrow, spiral staircase. Our group of three included two seniors and one middle age lady and two of us did have a bit of difficulty with the stairs. But that is a small issue compared to everything else that was terrific. Couldn't ask for a better location - just steps away from the French Quarter and lovely Armstrong Park. This is a great place.

Great NOLA Stay in the Historical Slave Quarters!

  • 5 of 5
We really enjoyed our stay for the following reasons:
Great courtyard
Safe area
Friendly hosts
Historical property just large enough for our party of 4
Close to all
Comfortable beds

A word of caution when going up/down the steep and narrow steps leading to the bathroom and 2 bedrooms

Thank you for being great hosts!!!

Great location and owner

  • 5 of 5
Not much I can add to the previous reviews. My wife and I were traveling with her brother and his wife. It was their first time in New Orleans. The house was clean and comfortable. The weather didn't exactly cooperate during our stay, but the courtyard would have been a great place to hang out during warmer times. Lee, the owner, was a gracious host (Thanks again for the Broussard's recommendation). We would definitely stay here again.

What a find!

  • 5 of 5
The place is simply awesome. It's about as centrally located in the French Quarter as anyplace could be. It's the slave quarters of a larger antebellum property. It shares a courtyard with the main house, which is owner occupied. I barely know what to call where we stayed -- apartment? slave quarters? rental property? none of those terms do it justice -- is simply gorgeous. The downstairs, reached through the courtyard, consists of a small living room that looks exactly like the posted picture. Upstairs are two beautifully appointed bedrooms, with plush luxurious beds (one king, one queen, I think, but maybe two kings), with decadently lovely bedspreads, pillow and comforters (which we really needed and appreciated because NOLA had a very uncommon cold snap when we were there). Both bedrooms have balconies overlooking the private courtyard. The kitchen has everything one would need to cook whatever one might please. But as Lee told us before we arrived, everyone thinks they're going to cook here and then never does because the restaurants within walking distance are so divine.

The place could comfortably fit five or six, if two are small and the other four share beds.

Lee is the perfect hostess. No one could be more more gracious and helpful than she was, starting with the booking process and ending with the checkout process. She makes everything so easy. Lee -- and Eliot, her adorable, smart and opinionated little doggie -- greeted us (a father and 22-year old son) when we arrived. Lee gave us spot-on recommendations as to where to dine and hear music, and then disappeared -- until we needed her again, for more recommendations. She was always responsive to our requests for information about NOLA and its wonders.

I plan to come back to NOLA as often as I can in the future, and I hope Lee will have me back.

Cute place in a perfect location. Easy walk to all the fun NOLA hot spots. The beds were super comfy, which is very important.
