4 Bedroom, 4 Bath, 4000sqft 50 ft from Bay with Beach access & Boat/fishing Dock

Last year 2 redfish and 10 trout were caught from the dock during a week in April and 2 sightings of eagles swooping down to pick up trout witnessed from guests sitting on the back porch this spring. One report of a 6' tarpon swimming under dock. (Note: I do not keep up with the calender so inquire about a period you are interested in.)

The home is 50 feet from the edge of the bay with a beach access park directly across the street 500 yards from the home. Inside are new furnishing including tournament quality billiard table, internet streaming for viewing netflix and other internet services on upstairs and downstairs TVs, patio furniture seating for 8 persons on the screened porch, new living area sofa, wicker recliners, and a elevated game table with four raised chairs ideal for cards and board games. Play pool, ping pong, bumper pool, basketball, bike ride, fish from dock, play cards, board games, enjoy surround sound stereo using your Iphone connected to stereo, connect to wireless internet. The home has central heat and air and plenty of room to spread out. Most people comment on how cool the home is when they first enter. 500 yards from the home is the sugar white sands of Cape San Blas Beach. Enjoy the sunrise over the bay and watch the sunset on the beach. The stars are exceptionally bright when viewed from the back deck of the home. My favorite nightscape is the full moon rising over the bay. Linens and towels are provided as an option so send an email to book the home and arrange for the linen and towel option.

The bay is viewable from each bed in the house. A 500 ft dock is a few steps from the home. A managed pristine environment of live oaks, palms, sea oats and sago palms surround the home.

2 upstairs bedrooms have king size beds. and 2 bedrooms downstairs one with 2 double beds, a single and optional trundle. The other has the walk in shower, king bed, single bed and optional trundle for extra guests. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with shower. To see more video of the home and the surrounding area visit bobzio com.

The main floor living area has TV and DVD player. Attached to the main floor living room is a large kitchen with stove, oven, counter top oven, full size frig with ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, blender, toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, cups silverware and cooking utensils. Off of the kitchen is a screened porch with patio table and 8 chairs. The washer and dryer are hidden away on the screened porch. Each room has cable TV and WiFi access. Bring your IPod and plug into the stereo. A large handicap accessible shower is located on the main floor. The home is unique in that there are no steps from your car into the home. The Grandparents can stay on the ground floor and not have to navigate any steps.

There is parking for 3 vehicles. Boat trailers can be parked close to the property entrance on a private paved road set aside for trailer parking.

The home is a monolithic concrete dome. The concrete adds extra protection and energy efficiency. Amenities include wifi, tv, dvd player, stereo, central heat and air conditioning. Upstairs has the entertainment area with CD stereo, Cable TV and billiard table. On the back porch overlooking the bay is a ping pong table, weight lifting bench with weights, bumper pool table and patio table with seating for 4. A propane fireplace is located on the main floor great for long winter nights.

Bring a boat or kayak for scalloping, fishing and recreation. If no boat plenty of fish can still be caught from the dock. Try throwing a cast netting for mullet from the dock. A favorite activity is spear or bow fishing for mullet as they swim under the dock. Floundering at night is an activity for those seeking some adventure. Depending on time of year an eagle or bobcat may be spotted close to the home. Want to learn to fish the bay? Captain Hal Tarpley will pick you up from the bayrock 1 dock and take you out for a day fishing or scalloping.

The Bayrock experience is serene, peaceful and private. Here birds are singing, bikes can be ridden on the 12 mile bike path, snorkeling in the bay for scallops, windsurf in the bay and shelling on the beaches.

Golf and tennis are a short 12 minute drive away at St Joe Country Club . Horseback riding on the beach starts at the beginning of the cape Road. Freshwater fishing is a 30 minute drive at Lake Wimico via depot creek or white city.

The cape bike path runs into the St Joseph State Park from the beginning of the cape road about 12 miles.

Inquire about para-sailing, waverunner and pontoon boat rental. Kayaks and bikes can be rented just a short distance away. The owner will deliver to the home for your convenience.

About the Owner

My dream was to build a futuristic indestructible earth friendly home. The dream was acted on in 1995 and completed in 1998. The home uses half the energy of a conventional home of similar size. The interior space is open and inviting. The surrounding area has been managed in a manner keeping the natural and pristine qualities in tact.

authentic Florida nature get away

  • 5 of 5
Bay Rock is an enormous space with awesome views of the bay. We had 5 people in our party but could have stayed comfortably with 10. The owner has taken such care in planting native Florida plants, the spacious yard is like a nature preserve. I saw 4 types of warblers from the screened in porch. You are right on the Florida birding trail. In addition to several varieties of reptiles and shorebirds, we watched eagles hunt in the bay. Amazing! My family and I vacation in Florida every year. We are outdoors types who love the natural Florida habitat. We have never stayed on the bay and always stay beach front. The bay is far superior in my opinion. My children 11 and 15 kayaked in the bay everyday. Very safe! They brought home sea urchins, hermit crabs, blue crabs, 2 varieties of star fish, and a striped burr fish. They were also able to make the quick trip across the beach everyday to swim. Although I preferred the State park at the end of the cape which is the single most beatiful place I have seen. The cape is very family friendly and I felt completely comfortable letting mt teen and preteen explore on thier bikes. I am usually the type that stays on the beach all day. Bayrock was so comfortable and the veiw so stunning I found myself wanting to stay put all week. We will never go anywhere else in Florida and are planning an extended stay in December.

Cape San Blas Bayfront Home Named Bayrock

  • 5 of 5
We were intrigued by the unique dome structure and wanted to know more so we reserved our week. Mick was very courteous, patient and prompt with his responses. We arrived after dark and Mick had left the door unlocked and the lights on for us. The home was more spacious than we had imagined. The living area was open and airy with bedrooms on the sides. We were impressed with the walkin closets in each bedroom. The acoustics upstairs were fantastic for listening to music and playing guitars. Surrounding the home was full of trees. We enjoyed sitting on the porches enjoying our morning cup of joe. We have recommended the home to our friends and hope to return next fall.

A pleasant stay at Bayrock

  • 5 of 5
We had a very pleasant experience renting Bayrock. Mick was very responsive to our numerous emails and was onsite when we arrived. The home was clean and ready for us when we pulled in. This was our second stay on Cape San Blas. Mick provided us with information about local sites and places of interest. The weather was exceptional during our visit. The beach was an easy stroll down the drive and onto the boardwalk across the street. In the evenings we would walk over and sit on the veranda and watch the sunset.
Our time in bayrock was very relaxing. Sometimes we stayed on the main floor. Having the kitchen and living area together meant that no one was left out of the conversations. In the mornings we liked having our coffee outside on the porch. In the evenings we played pool upstairs while watching netflix or one of the numerous DVDs from Bayrocks DVD collection. We did spot several Bald Eagles after Mick pointed out to us what their calls sound like I would recommend Bayrock to anyone who loves nature, tranquility and also loves taking in the beach. Bayrock offered everything within and easy walk. Hope to come back soon.

Excellent Experience Staying at Bayrock

  • 5 of 5
Mick the owner asked us to do a review and we were split about doing one. If we tell the truth about how wonderful and relaxing bayrock is then it might be harder to come back in September. September on Cape San Blas is as close to paradise as one can get. The water was emerald green and the water a perfect temperature for swimming. There was hardly another group on the beach. We had the entire area to ourselves. Bayrock is situated overlooking the Bay with a long dock just steps from the back door. We loved all the vegetation and shade trees surrounding the home. It is much like a mini oasis. It would be hot where our cars were parked and just 50 steps away on the dock the temperature was very pleasant. It makes us want to forever live in shorts and flip flops. Inside the home is spacious and roomy. The king beds in three of the bedrooms are very comfy. We especially liked the large downstairs walkin shower. Mick and his wife do an excellent job maintaining and keeping the home clean. Mick was always eager to pass on any local information we asked of him. Our entire experience on Cape San Blas and our stay in Bayrock was enjoyable and pleasant. Next time we are coming back with more of our family.

Bayrock rocks!

  • 5 of 5
We had the pleasure of staying at Mick’s Bayrock during the month of November in 2014. Perfectly situated on St. Joseph’s Bay, it was roomy enough for 3 couples with space to spare. We especially enjoyed the upper level, with it’s massive living area overlooking the bay, wonderful for just hanging out, listening to music, watching Netflix, or shooting billiards. The bedrooms are massive, with king sized beds and private bathrooms, and are situated at the far corners, adding to their privacy. The kitchen was adequate for several cooks to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and we were happy we had an extra refrigerator on the screened in porch and an extra portable oven in the kitchen. The dining table on the screened porch easily accommodated all 6 of us on a warm and sunny November day.

The house is located right on the bay, with a private dock that extends out to the water. The sunrises were beautiful and could be viewed from the upstairs bedrooms. Strolling the dock, it was common to see a variety of marine life including hermit crabs, rays, blue crabs and many kinds of fish. Egrets frequent this area and we also saw (and heard) a great horned owl in the trees nearby and a bald eagle.

We love to spend November on the Cape since the beaches are deserted but the weather is still very pleasant. The public access beach is situated right across the street from Mick’s place, a very short walk for beach and sunset views. And I can’t think of a better place to ride a bicycle than Cape San Blas Road.

Mick was the perfect host, very helpful and friendly and his lovely wife is charming. We would recommend his place to anyone wanting a bayside retreat, plenty big for large family groups. The building is starting to show its age, but it is still a great place to spend your time on the cape, especially if you have a large group. Thanks, Mick!

Wonderful Experience Vacationing at Bayrock

  • 5 of 5
Our experience renting from Mick and the entire Bayrock experience was pleasant, straightforward and positive. Mick responded to our emails in a timely fashion answering our numerous questions before our arrival and during our arrival regarding local information. We arrived after dark and Mick had the doors open and lights on for us. The home was very clean and ready. Our group of 6 adults had plenty of space and different areas of the home to gather in. Some of us enjoyed the porches and others liked the open kitchen area with bar countertop and open living area. The beds were comfortable. We especially liked the location being directly across from the beach park with access to the bay in back of the home and the long dock. I got to see an eagle swoop down and pick up a fish from the bay something I had only seen in nature films. We would recommend Bayrock to those who like tranquility and nature. The home was ideal for our group.

From the Owner

The location of this home is the most ideal among all Cape San Blas Properties. The bay access is the deepest for boating from the dock. The beach access park is directly across the street with a large state property park that goes some 2000 feet making the beach very secluded. The water is clear and pristine with plenty of wildlife. If you want to be surrounded by natural beauty and solitude then this is the best choice and still be able to visit all the modern restaurants, stores and beaches.

From the Owner

Most unique benefit of vacationing at Bayrock is the serenity, abundance of birdlife and opportunity to spot an eagle, see a bobcat walk by, fish from the dock, see porpoises at the beach, catch tarpin in the bay or do nothing at all. The Cape is a sanctuary for wildlife. Oh yes the Cape Palms Park beach access park is directly across the street.
