1 bedroom with spa inspired bathroom

Mid-century apartment well preserved with recent renovation. Interior designer and stone mason owners display their talent to include spa inspired bathroom with turkish travertine shower, vanity, and mosaic heated floor. Designer colors and furnishings create a comfortable environment throughout the lovely unit. The bedroom's queen size bed is well appointed with a Sealy Posturepedic Euro Pillow Top mattress, custom upholstered headboard, down comforter, down pillows, high thread count sheets. The living room chaise lounge sofa is perfect for reading or viewing 42'' plasma TV. Small dining room table will also serve nicely as a desk. Kitchen has original red tile with newer appliances and the simple basics for cooking at home. The apartment unit is situated on the back side of a 4 unit apartment building with tall fence to create a courtyard setting and private entrance. Large windows bring in an abundance of light and great view of courtyard garden.

One of the charms of this property is that it is in a quiet neighborhood for a city location. As much as we want our guests to have a good time, please be aware this is not a party pad. The sofa is not intended for additional sleeping guests and additional bedding is not provided.

Central Wallingford location. Close to Stone Way for bus lines to downtown, etc. Stone Way starts at Lake Union and goes north to Greenlake and is quickly becoming a hot new street with new restaurants and shopping. Near Gasworks Park, Burke Gilman Trail, Fremont, The Troll, Woodland Park Zoo, 2 miles to Husky stadium and University of Washington. Business travelers will find this a convenient location to software, internet, and biotech companies located in Fremont and South Lake Union. Also convenient for visitors of the University House retirement community.

About the Owner

My husband grew up visiting his grandmother in this small apartment building. We moved in as newlyweds in 1996 in this one bedroom unit. We called it the ''honeymoon suite''. Over a decade of managing the units as long term rentals, we decided to furnish two units and offer as furnished short term rentals.

Review of rental 445980

  • 5 of 5
This was our second time that we stayed in this unit over the past year. The accommodations were as described, neat and clean, and very welcoming. Photos reflected the actual unit. This is our home away from home when we visit our family in Seattle. The location, for us, is extremely convenient to family, public bus transportation and restaurants. The owners have been very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Highly recommend this unit.

Home-like Comfort!

  • 5 of 5
We rented the apartment for a week while visiting our daughter in Seattle. We wanted to be in a quiet neighborhood with great access to everything a city offers. This apartment was nearly perfect for that purpose. We expect we will be visiting Seattle a few more times in the next few years, and will try to rent this apartment or one like it for our future stays.

Basic, clean, not homey

  • 2 of 5
Booked three nights here in late February. Had difficulty connecting with the owner. Needed to change our reservations and after a few pitfalls was able to secure the days needed. Home felt like a hotel room. Sterile. We love to cook. All kitchen items were from the Dollar Store, silverware was really the cheapest we have ever seen, plastic might have been better. No toilet paper on roll, and the paper we found was really discount. No bar soap or hand soap of any kind in bathroom. We have stayed other homes in Seattle area, this one was close to our destination but so plain and lifeless I opted to stay with my daughter the last night. Has a deluxe shower. The only positive I could find. Hard to eat at the dinner table with only two chairs. We had planned to use this as a family gathering spot for the four of us, but only two slept here. Owner was nice and lives in front of unit. Could be a nice rental with a few added touches.

Owner's Response: Saddening to receive a poor review. The 1st response is to apologize to guest for a disappointing stay, especially since this was an important trip to celebrate a milestone birthday. The 2nd is to encourage readers to read ALL other guest reviews. Regarding difficulty reaching us; we had gone out of the country for a 1 week vacation. We discovered we did not have email access and could not receive our phone messages. I checked all communication immediately upon returning, which was 3 weeks prior to guest reservation. The original reservation dates were revised as requested. There is a VRBO process and I was in contact with guest by phone and email to complete the process. Unfortunate she felt the experience had pitfalls. In addition, we happily accommodated an early check-in of 1 pm instead of standard 4 pm. The photos and description illustrate exactly what to expect. The guest inquired for 2 adults, arrived with 3rd young adult son. The unit accommodates 2 adults only. The dining clearly for 2, but could use the 2 stools for tight seating for 4. Kitchen equipment was purchased at IKEA. Items get damaged and missing, therefore would not put same quality as one's own home in a short term rental. Lack of soap and no toilet paper on holder was an oversight, we apologize. There is always TP in the bathroom vanity cabinet. Paper products are purchased at Costco and a starter kit is provided, which is typically enough for a short stay. Perhaps the previous guest purchased a lesser quality and we did not take close notice. We typically greet our guests for entry and property orientation. This guest was NOT interested in this level of greeting (property orientation). Guest did retrieve Randy to tie her son's tie to go to her formal birthday dinner. Interesting she did not retrieve Randy for a bar of soap, which was easily accessible in the shared laundry room. Amazing comment the apartment was so lifeless she opted to stay at her daughters the last night. Where did her son stay? She obviously was not impressed with the fresh daffodils & birthday greeting on the dining table for her. We regret this guest did not have the complete Happy Birthday experience a person deserves.

Simply wonderful

  • 5 of 5
This was our first time to rent a short term apartment and Wow did we pick well. This apartment was CLEAN and we felt safe in this neighborhood. It is tucked away from the street and private. Everything we needed was there. Randy was there at the time we agreed upon and very helpful. The rooms are warm and inviting. The bathroom is beautiful which was remodeled by Randy. The floor has heating and it was wonderful. The Kitchen is a good size. I fixed an entire Thanksgiving dinner for 4. If it had been summer, the yard outside the apt. would have been lovely to sit in. Bring good walking shoes. The walk to 45th is all up hill but not bad. There are shops and a nice market and great places to eat. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property. Thanks Randy & Terri.
