The neighborhood of Fremont district boasts of over 50 eateries: 17 bakeries and cafes, and 17 listed bars and pubs! So is the Puget Consumer Co-op, a wonderful natural foods grocery that is amply stocked with everything from wine to ice-cream.

And then there is the shopping: bookstores, boutiques galore, music and flower shops, and the farmers market. The Burke Gilman Trail (42 miles in unbroken length!), wonderful for biking or walking, is a short walk away and borders the scenic water-way between Lake Union and the Puget Sound. This provides a wonderful in-city spot for picnicking, outside reading, or people and boat watching. About the Owner

Gea is originally from Ohio and moved to Seattle in 2004. This is Gea's only rental property in Seattle. Gea lives just outside of the city proper with her two cats, four chickens and pretty darn big organic garden.

Super comfortable and in a great area.

  • 4 of 5
My son and I spent three days at Gea's very comfortable home away from home. I was there for work and had to go to the Convention Center multiple times. The bus is very close and runs often. The Fremont neighborhood is great and offers some delicious food. Best of all, Gea's apartment has everything you need to be comfortable. We were there on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and I didn't think the busy road was noisy at night at all - the apartment is in the back and up and away from the roadway. There are lots of nice plants around the yard and the apartment was spotless. Lots of hot water and even a grill if that is something you enjoy. The wifi worked perfectly. In the spring. the plants blooming around Gea's and in the neighborhood, so that was extra nice, too. I would return to this place. And, it was a great value for the price.

Great Place for a Great Price!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I took a trip to Seattle for our 3rd anniversary and landed on this house to stay; we loved it! It was in the perfect location to walk to the Woodland Park Zoo, Greenlake Park, Fremont neighborhood, etc. It's not the most quiet place as it's next to a busy road, but that was really our only dislike for our stay. The place was fully furnished with a nice sized kitchen and very comfy bed. On top of all that, the owner was incredibly sweet and flexible as she allowed us to stay until the late check-out time (since our flight didn't leave until four in the afternoon). My husband and I will be back to the area a few more times over the next year or two (as we're looking to move to the area) and will certainly consider staying here again!

Very nice home close to downtown

  • 5 of 5
Thank you for a lovely stay. The owner Gea was very accommodating. We arrived to Seattle late, around 11pm, and left the home address behind. We had to text Gea and call her to get the home address (sorry!), and she was very kind and helpful to us this late at night. She gave us the address and directions and reminder on how to enter. The home is very cute, not large - but enough for two adults and a child comfortably. And has all the simple pleasures needed to make for a homey stay. This was our first time in Seattle and we found many activities nearby - including a couple of parks, Greenlake, the Seattle zoo and the downtown area, which included the Pike Place Market. We found this to be a very nice stay for our family, including our 4yr old daughter.

Not a first choice rental

  • 3 of 5
We were here for 4 days for a job interview for my husband. The location isn't bad as Fremont is a nice neighborhood with some good restaurants. The rental however, could have been better. Our cable didn't work and when we contacted the owner she sent someone from upstairs down but they were unable to fix it, and it wasn't addressed by the owner afterwards. You can hear everything going on upstairs and the traffic outside may keep you up at night. Also, on our last night we requested more towels and never received a reply from the owner. Hot water was also hit or miss. I wouldn't recommend this rental as a first choice, but our situation was last minute.

Long term stay

  • 5 of 5
We were here for 2 months and have nothing bad to say. The owners are great and there were no surprises. We had friends visit a couple times and the hide-a-bed was a good spot for them. We walked to a lot of great restraunts 10 minutes away and enjoyed walking our dog to play at Woodland Park just around the corner. A little noisy with traffic some nights but it eventually just becomes white noise. Two thumbs up.

Wallingford rental

  • 4 of 5
We had a nice stay at this rental. It was centrally located and easy to access. The only issue we had was the wifi would not connect. A perfect place for three. Close to QFC, Safeway and whole foods. Plenty of kitchen stuff for cooking.

Amenities

From the Owner

Many of the lovely families that stay with us email us (after their stay) with great things to say! - especially because of the location (only 5 blocks from the Seattle Zoo) and food across the street/coffee shops only 5 blocks West of the house (all walking distance). The home is on Aurora Ave N - which is a main road in Seattle (and one of the perks of the location). This is an urban environment, not a rural location, however, so keep that in mind! Our home is 1.5 miles from Pike Place Market (and downtown Seattle). The home also has free private driveway parking and double pane windows. The studio area of the home - which is 450sqft - has been fully remodeled with brand new floors, paint - and all new furniture (in January of 2013). All of our furniture is Crate and Barrel furniture; we focus on 'clean, simple, and comfortable' for the feel of our home. We have opted toward a contemporary (rather than thrift store decorated) decorating style.
