Guestbook comments from the manager

Our group of girls were there for shopping at the Tangier Outlet Malls. We had no problem finding the cabin and the owners had left the lights on for us. To wake up and have a cup of coffee one of the many decks and watch the sun rise made you feel as one with our maker. The owners went to great length to provide and decorate the most gorgeous tree ever in the family room. Another was upstairs and there were beautiful Christmas Decorations throughout the massive log home. We will certainly return. Check in was a breeze with friendly people at the desk and the cabin was spotless

Snow Covered Beautiful Views

  • 5 of 5
Oh my, it was gorgeous to look out at the snow covered mountains. We got there before the snow started and carried all our groceries with us. The staff told us they were expecting lots of snow which suited us fine. We were prepared for it when it started. We sat by the fireplace with a glass of wine and watched it snow. It was such a relaxing experience and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay in this beautiful cabin. The staff kept a check on us while we were there as they knew we were snowed in, which was so very nice of them. They offered to bring us things or to rescue us since they knew we could not get out. We knew when we got there what the weather and roads would be like and we were prepared for it. We built snow men and prepared a make shift sled to slide down the driveway and made beautiful memories. Then we went back to the fireplace and warmed up with hot chocolate and s'mores. Afterward we had a relaxing stay in the hot tub while watching the night lights in Pigeon Forge and enjoyed the snowfall even more. What a wonderful stay, we didn't want to leave but work was calling us so we had to return to the real world. The cabin was exceptionally clean and very well equipped with anything we needed.

Hard to find Screaming Eagle

  • 4 of 5
Our family met for 4 nites at the Screaming Eagle over Xmas. We had 10 adults and 2 children. The good - The view is gorgeous! There was plenty of privacy for all with 5 bedrooms each having their own bath, and fold out sofas for the kids. Everyone had cellphone coverage. The beds were comfortable, the hot tub seemed really clean and not just doused with chemicals, the pool table and shuffle board were fun, and overall the place is comfortable for a big group. The bad - The Access to this place is difficult and would be impossible during bad weather. It's hard to find, many of the gravel roads are not in good shape, and it has a steep incline in many parts. It was not conducive to making short trips to town and back. And because members of our group got there at different times, we had to meet them in town and bring them to the cabin because it was too hard to give directions. No one's GPS could find the place. The difficult access would keep me from renting this place again.

Owner's Response: We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at "Screamin Eagle" and you enjoyed all that it had to offer. At the time reservations are made to this property we insure our guests are aware of the location and type of roads leading to the cabin. There is another way to get to the main roads that guests find more convenient which we also include with the directions given at check in. We thank you for staying with us and look forward to your next visit.

Beautiful Lodge On Top of the World!

  • 5 of 5
We have been travelling to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for many years. This cabin was the best, the view and not far from main street in Pigeon Forge. Our family of 12 was very comfortable. The Maples are a great family to rent from. We will be back and tell our friends and family about them.

Luxury at its finest

  • 5 of 5
My family and I met with extended family members for a week of relaxing and reminiscing. The place was more than we expected. The views were spectacular, whether it be sunrise or sunset. You are so high up it seems like you are in the clouds, but the short drive is deceiving. You normally think spectacular views require a steep winding road that goes straight up. Not this cabin, it's less than 3 miles from the heart of town. The cabin was furnished and decorated so beautifully. Everything was clean and spotless. We had a group of 15 and had plenty of room for everyone to sit together and watch movies and play board games. It might sound expensive but it actually cost us less than what we have been paying for separate cabins. We all agreed that it was the cleanest cabin we have ever rented and we had zero complaints. We loved the cabin and we thank the staff at Maples Ridge Cabins for allowing us to all be together and make such special memories. We agreed to return next year and to make sure we get the same cabin we went by and reserved it before we left town.
