Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to write to tell you what a lovely time we had staying in your beautiful cabin.

It was so much more than we expected. Everything was very organized and there for our convenience which we greatly appreciated. It was clean and comfortable. We had a fabulous time in the hot tub and enjoyed the cosy warmth of the fire afterwards.

We could tell that you had put a lot of time and effort into making your cabin so inviting and atmospheric.

We look forward to coming back again another time.

Thank you for making our trip so memorable,

GREAT SPOT FOR A SUMMER RETREAT!

  • 5 of 5
This cozy little cabin proved to be a big hit with my wife, kids and me! The wife appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms as well as the beds. The kids (10 and 12) loved the bunk beds, foosball table, and games. Also, the cabin size for this family of four was perfect. We were pleasantly surprised by how much the owners provide their guests: free WiFi, towels, cable TV, free WiFi, pots, pans, dishes, free WiFi, cups, utensils, free WiFi, games, blankets, hot tub, dryer, etc. As hard as we tried to get away from our devices, the WiFi really came in handy when we tried to look for things to do around Big Bear. Just across the road there's a dried up creek that the kids and I walked/hiked. Deanna (owner) provided clear instructions for how to get to the cabin and what we needed to do before we left. We really enjoyed our stay in Big Bear, which was due, in large part, to this cabin. You never know what to expect when you rent, but we would definitely stay here again. Must be great during winter.

Perfect in so many ways!!!

  • 5 of 5
There are so many great aspects of staying at this cabin that I don't know where to begin! The owners were extremely helpful from start to finish. Communication was a breeze! The property description and photos were accurate upon arrival. It was clean, well-maintained and stocked with all the amenities as described. We were able to sled on a hill behind the property. There was so much firewood stocked we had a great fire every night. The jacuzzi was three steps from the kitchen and maintained its temperature in the coldest of weather. The wi-fi worked perfectly as well as the tv. We had no problem staying warm with the heater and abundance of blankets. It was a great feeling to be in the forest but yet not far from town nor the ski slopes. We felt very cozy and had the best time ever playing board games, cooking our own food, playing in the snow, going to the slopes, tubing and then relaxing in the jacuzzi and sitting in front of the fire. Our seven year old daughter said "everyday was the best day ever." We couldn't agree more with her and look forward to staying here again for another winter vacation!

Great little cabin in the woods - with lots of extras!

  • 5 of 5
I have rented many cabins in Big Bear and this cabin gives you a lot of bang for your buck. We arrived to a warm, clean cabin. The hot tub was great, but even better was the dryer! You don't have to mess with wet clothes. The towels and bedding provided were thick and soft - no scratchy stuff. Heaters were a bonus if you don't want to hear the loud noises coming from the wall heater ( I was warned about the noise though). Firewood was provided, and sleds for the kids! The kitchen is a little small, and the smoke detector kept going off. The cabin was a little hard to find, but the location was great - it had snow when other areas did not due to the direction of the sun. The owner, Deanna was great with my booking, and sent helpful hints, weather updates and websites before check-in. I had a teenager and two kids and the surrounding area provided sledding for the novice as well as thrill seeker. We really enjoyed the large porch area and were able to sit and watch the kids sled right in the front yard. The house is located on a dead end street, so there is not too much traffic, and there is a large vacant area and gulley across the street for extra play area - I am sure that if there was more snow it would be a perfect place for the kids. The owner was easy to work with, and I have already recommended the cabin to others. I definitely plan on going back.

Amazing cabin, amazing owners, amazing vacation

  • 5 of 5
I just got back from a two-day writer's retreat at this little cabin. It's amazing. Deanna and David do such a good job of keeping the cabin spotless. The kitchen sink is so clean, I think you could eat out of it. The beds are also incredibly comfortable, and the house is super cozy. I've stayed at some other places that were cold no matter how much you turned up the heaters or stoked the fire. Not so with Deanna and David's cabin. Within minutes of turning on the heater, the place is downright toasty. They also have a huge backyard, and it's on a hill, so if it snows when you're there, you can go sledding! The neighborhood is also really quiet. One side of the street has NO houses on it. The cabin side of the street has other houses, but they are all vacation and rental cabins, so if you go during off season or during a weekday, you could very well be the only people on the street. I absolutely love that kind of solitude. It's very different from the busy suburban lives that most of us lead on a daily basis. This cabin gives you solitude and peace. However, the highlight of our retreat was definitely when a wolf ran through the backyard early in the morning. It was breath taking. In LA I see a lot of coyotes, but wow, you know you're not in smog-ridden LA anymore when you see a wolf. Thank you Deanna and David for sharing your little slice of Big Bear heaven with the rest of us. Two thumbs up!

Perfect retreat!

  • 5 of 5
You know you've found the perfect place, when no one wants to return to their own beds back home. This little cabin was perfect for our family. The pictures do not do it justice and certainly don't capture the homey, cozy, atmosphere that hugs you when you walk in. The owners did a perfect job utilizing the space and thinking of little details that would be appreciated by their renters. My husband and I miss the super cozy bed (I've already been shopping to recreate the comfort). The Jacuzzi was such a nice amenity. We used it often and threw our suits in the dryer to get ready for the next time. The deck is huge and the perfect playground for kids to play outside and still be seen and heard. We are talking about returning during the summer and enjoying the cabin and Big Bear again!

Great Owners!

Quant, cozy cabin with perfect hot tub! The beds and bedding were wonderful, as were the cooking equipment in the kitchen. Netflix and Wifi were helpful :) Owners were a dream to work with and very helpful and accommodating. The location was great, with a area to hike just outside the front door.

Location

From the Owner

We chose to buy this property because is has a remote location surrounded by trees. We wanted the solitude feeling. Stores, restaurants and activities are close but we feel as if we are in our own world when at our retreat. It does have house nearby on the sides but it has more privacy and seclusion than most of the homes we have seen. We started looking at bigger places but realized that we preferred a smaller cozy place where we can relax together and it is so easy to pack things up when headed back home. This cabin enables a complete retreat.
