This historic renovated home has a master bedroom with Queen size bed and en suite master bath with Jacuzzi tub and large walk in closet on the first floor. The second bedroom on the first floor comes with futon and doubles as a study/meditation room. A full bathroom is located conveniently across the hall along with the laundry room with washer/dryer. Upstairs in the loft are two full size beds with another full en suite bathroom. Ample storage for clothing and gear throughout the home. Front and back porches for kicking back before hitting the town or rehashing the nights events. Large back yard with private gated off street parking for you and your guests.

About the Owner

I purchased this house in 2000 as a blighted piece of property. It was the worst house in the neighborhood and everyone laughed at me when I showed it to them. It seemed only I could see the potential of this beautiful lady. With the help of award winning architect Jackie Case and her husband Mark Redding, who was the contractor, we were able to return her to her former grandeur with a modern touch. Some of the design ideas that allowed for a full size third bathroom were contributed by my late mother who is a collected folk artist. Her works are collected by the likes of Delta Burke and Neil Young among many others. Some of the art work in the house is hers. In 2004 I met the love of my life Julie. Julie is a dentist in Baton Rouge. We quickly split our time between Baton Rouge and New Orleans while starting our family. So many memorable times have been spent in this home. We truly love to entertain and welcome you to share in this beautiful home with us. I have enjoyed this home as a bachelor while running my Naturopathic business in the dining room area. As Julie and I dated we enjoyed many romantic walks to and from all the exiting sights, sounds, and tastes of the city. Mostly, we never ventured more than a 15 minute stroll from our home. ; ) We still continue to enjoy the city with our two children in tow. Julie's business and family keep us more ensconced in Baton Rouge, so we don't get in as much as we'd like to….so we are sharing our precious lady with you. If there is anything that we can offer to you that is not already provided for, please ask. New Orleans has been my home for over 20 years and continues to be one of the best places in the world for friends, family, and fun. Oh, and my friends who laughed at me for buying this bit of then blighted property, well, they are some of our most frequent guests. I hope you enjoy our little piece of paradise as much as we have.

Fantastic, beautiful home

We had a very large group and we're so thankful for the three bathrooms. The house is beautiful and within walking distance of some AWESOME spots (don't miss Butcher right around the corner!). Had all the amenities we needed and we just can't thank everyone enough for helping our epic trip be even more amazing.

Wonderful home in New Orelans

Four friends and I stayed in Sam's house in early April 2015, and it was perfect for our needs. The house was clean, spacious and had all of the amenities we needed. The house also has a really nice back porch and a huge backyard. The location is great, a little over a mile from the French Quarter, and with plenty of restaurants and shops within short walking distance of the house. Sam and Mrs. Pat (our host) were very easy to get in touch with and communicate with. I'd highly recommend staying here, and would definitely stay here again next time I visit the Crescent City.

An Authentic New Orleans Retreat

I rented Sam's home to entertain a group of friends from out of town, many who had never been to New Orleans. We were all completely charmed by the design and decor of this home.

Sam & Mrs. Pat were very accommodating and allowed us an early check-in which really gave us an extra day of vacation! The home and backyard are completely private, and the off street parking is so nice to have as well.

I've rented other homes that claim to accommodate 8+ people, only to arrive and find sparse linens, towels, and dishes. Not the case here! We truly had everything we needed. A very thoughtfully appointed home.

We loved having the Rusty Nail bar just 4 doors down. The Poeyfarre Market 1 block away was super convenient for coffees, small grocery items, and wine selections. The neighborhood is a foodies dream, with multiple award winning restaurants just blocks from each other.

The location of this home was very versatile as we could walk to the french quarter, take the streetcar uptown conveniently, and cab anywhere else with ease.

I could not give a glowing enough review of our experience - thank you Sam and Mrs. Pat for your hospitality!

Great, convenient home!

I stayed here with 8 of my girlfriends for my bachelorette party and it was perfect. It's a little over a mile walk to the quarter (which is quite doable) or an $8 cab ride. There are plenty of great restaurants and bars close by as well.

Sam provided an air mattress for us - although it leaked and was almost flat by morning - it didn't deter us from having a great time. There are plenty of spots for sleeping and 3 full bathrooms. We'd stay here again!

Absolutely amazing

This trip was for a bachelor party weekend getaway. The house was amazing. Backyard amazing. Personal garage was helpful for parking. The local bar and close restaurants were great and convenient. All in all a great place to stay to enjoy an amazing city. And the owners are EXTREMELY helpful and provided great customer service. Thanks again.

Christmas Time in New Orleans

Our family wanted to experience New Orleans and we did so in such a perfect way. Sam's house is located within walking distance to everything! Oh! and what a beautiful, historic home with everything you need to be comfortable, the 6 of us settled right in after being greeted warmly by Mrs. Pat. Since we drove to NOLA from Houston, the secure off street parking was a plus. Sam....your suggestions for dining were right on too!! Did not take us long to find our favorite at The Annunciation...the owner and staff and food were outstanding. Thanks again for sharing your home with us and helping make our NOLA Holiday adventure a huge success.

With the French Quarter a mere 1.1 miles away, I saw a fabulous opportunity to be able to play in the Quarter without the daily struggle of having to enter and exit the Quarter. Having lived in the Pontalba Apartments at Jackson Square I only knew too well the reality of the logistics of parking and the desire for a quiet nights sleep. Another of my loves is restoration and preservation. Care was taken to preserve as much of this homes original bones and structure while including some modern changes to make this double shotgun into a more livable family home. Additionally, I purchased two additional pieces of property that were deemed unusable right away to give this home a private gated driveway and an actual yard that the children could play in. This is unheard of in the CBD/Warehouse/French Quarter districts.
