4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths With 1st Floor Open Floorplan And Deck Overlooking Lake

Our lakeside home sits on a hillside overlooking beautiful Tennanah Lake (largest private lake in the Catskills). We love the quiet serenity of being out in the country, while still only 10 minutes from Roscoe stores and restaurants. We enjoy the house in all 4 seasons, but our favorite season is the summer. Nights are usually cool, with ceiling fans and open windows keeping it quite comfortable. We think you'll love falling asleep with the sounds of water lapping at the dock and waking up to great sunrises. Our spring-fed lake is clear and refreshing - perfect for a summer day swim. Look for the eagles that nest across the lake.

Great fishing - Tennanah lake is stocked with bass, trout and perch. We are also minutes from world class trout fishing streams and several outfitters in Roscoe.

Our home is on a hillside, so the great views come with somewhat steep path down to the water. We have a floating dock and the water gets deep quickly. May not be suitable for families with very young children or those with physical limitations.

About the Owner

I grew up on a lake in the Midwest. I loved all the seasons on the lake. We wanted to recreate this experience for our family and have found it with our lakeside retreat.

Beautiful view of the lake with two decks and a fire pit...what else could you ask for. It was the perfect weekend getaway for our families. Everything we needed was included and easy to find. We really enjoyed the weekend.

Summer 2013

My husband and I stayed at Carol and John's house last summer and had a wonderful time. The bedrooms are huge and we had one of the bedrooms looking out at the lake. We loved sitting on the top porch overlooking the lake in the morning and having our coffee. In the evening, we sat in the area just above the dock and built a bonfire and drank wine and talked with friends until almost midnight; which is late for us! The water is very clear and clean; much clearer than some of the lakes in the Berkshires we've stayed at in prior years. There's also a small beach area very close to the house with a restaurant if that's what you're in the mood for one day. Thanks John and Carol-loved the house!

lake house delights

A wonderful start to our retirement. Lovely, roomy home with gorgeous views of
the mountain lake. Upper and lower patio decks were wonderful for dining and
enjoying the early fall scenery. Dock allowed easy swimming as it was deep
enough at the end to jump / dive off. (Would recommend supervision of young
children on the dock.) The walk down the hillside to the lower deck and dock was
no problem due to timber lined steps built in to the ground. Owners were
helpful and easy to work with. Lake was quiet all week long - we shared it with
just a few boaters and fishermen. Saw eagles on two occasions. Great starting
point for our sightseeing in the area. We enjoyed car rides and hiking. Lots of quaint towns, covered bridges, hiking trails and breathtaking views in the area. Great restaurants in neighboring towns - a short drive from our lakeside retreat. Our excursions included a day at the craft festival at Bethel Woods - site of the famous Woodstock Music festival of 1969. A fun blast from the past.

We were seeking a lakeside home within 2 hours of northern NJ. When we first walked out onto the back deck we knew we had found our idyllic lake home.

From the Owner

Our home has spectacular views from the deck outside the 1st floor. We love watching the sunrises and sunsets from our lakeside rooms and 2 decks. My favorite time of day is the golden hour before twilight, when the hillside lights up with gold and rose. Can't beat relaxing with a glass of wine on the deck before dinner. Tennanah lake is a private lake community with no public access, so it is quiet, even on busy weekends.
