Look no further! You found a great home in the most beautiful neighborhood in Asheville for your vacation. When you turn onto lush Cherokee Road from Charlotte Street, you will pass by The Manor Inn & Gatehouse, built in 1898, and enter one of Asheville's four designated local and National Register historic districts; Albemarle Park, a neighborhood filled with 'cottages' from the late 19th century that has attracted many travelers including actors Grace Kelly, Alec Guinness, Agnes Morehead and 'the father of rhythm and blues', Louis Jordan.

Albemarle Park is unique among Asheville's Historic Districts. Every single one of its significant structures is still intact and relatively unchanged today. The cottages were all given their own unique names; Clover, Rosebank, Brown Bear, Wildfell, Kalmia, Daffodil, Italdo (pronounced It'll Do), Chipmunk, Dahlia, to name a few. Your home is called The Willows at 16 Cherokee Road between Shamrock and The Crow's Nest--splendidly located one mile from downtown Asheville and one mile from the Grove Park Inn.

The Willows is a 2000 sq ft handsome grey stucco home with a large flat front yard. It was built in 1925. A custom stacked stone ring wall encloses two gardens and cedar tree at the front porch. There is comfortable patio furniture on the porch as well as a teak table for outdoor dining. Enjoy the covered sitting area in the back yard and outdoor grill next to the 2-car parking pad. The home has brand new central air and heat, 2 zones--upstairs and downstairs. It also has a new Kohler whole-house generator so when the electricity goes out in the neighborhood, you are totally covered.

The interior of the home has a contemporary feeling with original hardwood floors and dim-able recessed lighting. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, living room, tv room, basement, dining room & half bath. French doors open out to the front porch from the living room and dining room. There is high-speed wireless internet throughout the home.

The bedrooms are on the second floor. The Master bedroom has a King size bed, flat screen TV and its own bright full bathroom. A private wood deck accoutered, table with umbrella, is attached to the Master bedroom. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed & dresser. The 3rd bedroom has a queen size bed and dresser. A full bath in hallway is shared by the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms.

The main floor consists of a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, stylish living room, a modern gas fireplace, and a relaxing TV room with an automatic reclining sofa and 54-inch LED TV - Charter Cable, Pandora music & Neflix included. There is a basement with a washer and dryer. There is a private two-car parking pad behind the house. The driveway is shared with the neighbor. Two adult bicycles & one kid bicycle with helmets and locks are available for your use during your stay.

My name is Mike Boustead and my life partner is David Francis. We have been together for 20 years. We previously lived in Los Angeles where we both worked in the film and music industries. I was a music editor for such films as Remember the Titans, The Royal Tenenbaums, Collateral, Lemony Snicket's: A Series of Unfortunate Events, and many others. David was a recording pianist for such films as Pursuit of Happyness, Elegy and Fame. David is the composer of BARK! The Musical. He is also a classical concert pianist with 8 cds commercially available. Together, we produced the hit musical BARK! (barkthemusical.com) that ran in Los Angeles for two years and has since been licensed across the country. BARK! tells the story of six dogs and their experiences for one day in Deena's Doggie Daycare. We have two dogs in our family: Massimo, an Italian greyhound who is 1 and 1/2 years and our Brother Wolf dog, Effie who is 4 years old. We and our animals love to travel and spend part of each year somewhere warm-usually Key West.

We had a memorable stay at The Willows the weekend of the Asheville Marathon / half-Marathon. We traveled from NYC to meet up with our daughters, who were running the half-Marathon, and who had traveled from DC and Indianapolis. The Willows was a perfect place for our family reunion! Mike is a gracious, welcoming host, who could not have set things up better for us. The home is comfortable, beautifully furnished (kitchen, living room, 3 bedrooms) and in a peaceful, wooded setting.. yet only 5 min by car from downtown Asheville, with easy access on and off US-240 to get to the Blue Ridge. Given the size of the home, The Willows is more suitable for a group of 4 or 6 than a couple, but keeping that in mind, one couldn't ask for more. We'll be back!

Home sweet home

From the moment we stepped into the Willows we knew we had found the perfect home away from home! Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a sweet note from the owners and fancy chocolate! The home is immaculate and there is wonderful artwork adorning every room. The front patio was fabulous for enjoying a glass of wine and rehashing the day's events. This home truly is a treat in every way and we are so thankful that we had an opportunity to enjoy it!

Perfect House

I cannot say enough great things about The Willows. The house is very close to downtown Asheville yet is quiet and secluded. Every detail is well thought out, from the kitchen amenities to extra soaps in the bathrooms. Staying here was like staying with a thoughtful friend and we felt so welcome. I didn't want to leave! I can't think of anything negative about this place - just perfect!

Perfect Stay!

We were well greeted by the owners, with snacks and wine, and they also came over to greet us in person. The home is beautiful, stocked with every amenity you could possibly need, so much so that it's more like staying at someone's home versus staying at a vacation rental. Located in the perfect spot, only one mile from downtown and one mile from the Grove Park Inn. I've rented several VRBO Homes and this one definitely takes the cake! We will be surely staying again!

Perfect Stay!

We booked this home for a wedding at The Grove Park Inn, and from arrival, I knew we'd made a great choice in where to stay. The owners welcomed us with snacks and wine, as well as a hand-written note, and greeted us at the home, which was a nice touch. The home is beyond beautiful, well furnished, with all of the amenities you could ever need. It doesn't have a "vacation rental" feel to it - it's like stepping into someone else's home. The rates are great, it's right near downtown, and one mile from The Grove Park Inn, and just a cheap Uber ride away from everything! We will be booking again!

Wonderful place for a relaxing stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Willows. The house is located in a beautiful historic area, very close to downtown Asheville. Michael John was very welcoming when we arrived. He showed us around the house and gave the keys. I loved how clean everything was, and all the nice touches, including very soft towels, dimmers, fresh flowers, fresh orchid plants, and herbs in the beautiful garden. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with all the necessities. The house is beautifully decorated. I loved reading about the history of the neighborhood. It was very quiet and relaxing to stay at the Willows. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We were invited to visit a friend who lives half the year in Asheville and the other half in Key West and stayed with her for five days in the summer of 2010. We fell in love with the charm of the city, the lively and excellent arts organizations, the panoramic vistas and the friendliness of the people-many of whom also moved here from somewhere else. The city is progressive and bubbling with excitement. We instantly fell in love with The Willows the minute we walked through it's front door. The energy of it is so warm and good. We are very close to our neighbors here.

The exquisite Biltmore House build by the Vanderbilt family is 20 minutes away. The world famous attraction includes manicured grounds and gardens along with its own winery.

Asheville boasts restaurants of high quality offering cuisines from various countries. Some of our favorites include 'Curate' and 'Reza's'. There is also brand new 'Gan Shan Station' on Charlotte Street featuring delicious Pan-American cuisine and right around the corner on Charlotte Street is local 'Metro Wines' and 'Ultimate Ice Cream'.
