This wonderful, huge apartment with double parlors, your own private entrance, and shared courtyard (with fountain) in an 1889 Eastlake Victorian House is your gateway to the heart of one of the most beautiful and fascinating cities in the world.

In the Lower Garden District historical section of New Orleans, this house is just two blocks from satisfying your craving for antiques of the finest kind, the best roasted coffee, food at some of the most amazing restaurants, and booze at an incredibly eclectic collection of bars on Magazine Street.

It is just three blocks from the Convention Center (if you, unfortunately, have to work), and Mardi Gras World, where you can see how that party started, and where many of the parades start during Mardi Gras itself. As a matter of fact, between Mardi Gras World and St. Charles Street, 30... Yes... THIRTY parades go within six blocks of this house (but not right in front of the house). That's good, see? You won't find anybody sleeping it off on your porch in the morning.

Speaking of St. Charles Street, a six-block walk, past some of the most beautiful and elegant houses, between Magazine and St. Charles, gets you to the streetcar. The closest stop is St. Charles at Felicity. $1.25 (exact change please) gets you a ride on the best way to travel in the U.S.A.!

You say you want to party... Hmm... No problem. Just remember that this is a residential neighborhood, and we like our neighbors, so the major partying will be done out in the city. If Magazine Street and its pleasures are too sedate for you, head down Annunciation Street toward the Warehouse District, CBD, and the French Quarter. a 10-minute walk gets you to The Rusty Nail, Bellocq, Ugly Dog Saloon, Dino's, The Circle Bar, Republic New Orleans, and on and on...

Feeling more thoughtful... The wonderful National WWII Museum, one of the most popular attractions in New Orleans, is a ten-minute walk away as well, and is great for kids, too. The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, and the Confederate Memorial Hall Museum are right next door. By the way, if all the walking starts to bother you, and you have taken full advantage of the streetcar, a phone call will get a cab to the house in 5 minutes.

Food... Well, what can I say? Cochon, Annunciation, Eleven 79, Mayas Nuevo Latino, HiVolt, and Half Moon are some of our favorite places within short walking distance. there is no limit to where you can eat, and we will be happy to give you a list, suggestions, and so forth.

Awesome house

You really get the feel of staying in a New Orleans home , high ceilings , beautiful floors , nicely decorated , beautiful court yard with giant banana trees, an orange tree and a beautiful water fountain. We rented a car so we were just a five min. Drive to everything .But the walking was easy too.Thanks Sabin .

Fantastic Experience

Such a beautiful home and incredibly generous hosts. Came down for a long weekend with my boyfriend and another couple and the home was beautiful. The location perfect for wandering over to central part of the Garden District or catching a quick cab ride over to the French Quarter. There are also some great food spots close by and a great porch to relax on. Sabin and his family were incredibly welcoming and had fantastic advice on where to eat and what to see on our trip. We're going to try to make it an annual tradition.

Tulane graduation rental

We rented both sides of "Annunciation" for Tulane graduation weekend. It was the perfect location for campus, the super dome, french quarter and even magazine street. The large side easily accommodated our group for meals and gatherings and having both sides was great for sleeping and down time. Sabin was great to work with and very quick to respond to questions. I would definitely stay here again!!

Even more than we imagined!

Just got back from an absolutely perfect weekend in New Orleans. The owner, Sabin, was quick to respond, offered lots of suggestions, and was easy to communicate with prior to and during the trip. Upon arrival, I knew this place was more than a typical vacation rental because my fiance had secretly coordinated a special surprise with the owner. He went above and beyond--no questions asked. The house itself was beautiful and so perfectly New Orleans. I was surprised to find that the rooms (living and bed) were much larger than what I expected from the photos, and I feel like usually it's the opposity. The house was well decorated and appointed---lots of towels, dishes, etc. We walked to quite a few neighborhood spots, and also rented bikes for the entire weekend. What a fun way to explore! If you want to take the streetcar, it's super easy and close, and if you call a taxi it will be at the house in less than 5 minutes. My friends had to drag me away from New Orleans and this awesome home. Stay here, eat lots of delicious food, and dance to live music!
