About this property

Riverside Tranquility in Paradise — 1/2 mile from the ocean (TVNC #1231)

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
Buddha said that when you can see 100 shades of green, you have truly reached heaven. This is the feeling you will have at Hale Kuleana, our beautiful tropical jungle paradise home nestled in the Wainiha River Valley. Lush vegetation surrounds you in all directions, with an unobstructed view of the sights and sounds of the Wainiha River. The 2 bedroom, 2 bath house is private, comfortable, and a perfect place to relax, reflect and rejuvenate. The 600 square foot master suite on the second floor has its own tub, shower and lanai. Downstairs is another bedroom with bamboo flooring, a full bath, a large open living room, a complete kitchen, and a dining area. There is also a screened-in lanai with a large dining table, sitting area and hammock.

Near some of the most beautiful spots on the entire island and yet with so much to see comfortably at your own doorstep, you may not want to leave the house for days on end. Stare out at Wainiha Mountain, sit along the river, lounge or dine on the large lanais, nap in the hammock, or relax in the hot tub. Only a few miles to the west are Tunnels and Ke'e, two of the most scenic beaches on Kauai. A short drive east takes you to Lumahai and Kahalahala beaches, and the quaint town of Hanalei with its restaurants, shopping, farmer’s market and perfectly shaped crescent bay.

100 Shades of Green—Hale Kuleana is a tropical paradise. It is very private, but there are neighbors and a shared driveway. It is best suited for couples and families who enjoy the peace and quiet that nature provides. Out of consideration for our neighbors, drone use is prohibited anywhere on the property.

***NOTE: This house is located in the Tsunami Evacuation Zone. Evacuation instructions are posted at the house and will also be included in the rental agreement.

Beautiful house and grounds!
The house and grounds were very quiet and beautiful. Waking up to the sound of the river and the view of the mountain every morning were highlights. Would stay again and totally recommend this place if you really want to experience the Garden Isle!

Amazing place
This house is absolutely beautiful, and next to so many great snorkeling beaches, hikes, and restaurants in the north shore. Gano and Steve left us with a list of recommended activities which we used as our primary guide and it did not disappoint. I wouldnt consider staying anywhere else if I'm ever back in Kaua'i. Thank you for making our trip so amazing!

This is a beautiful home in a very lush river valley. We loved our stay!
The location of this home is idyllic, with beautiful tropical landscaping, a river, fruit trees ripe for picking, and a spa for nighttime star gazing. Within a few miles, there were beautiful beaches for swimming and snorkeling, hiking trails with a view of the Napoli coast, and Limahuli Botanical Garden. We highly recommend this home.

Beautiful, secluded location in the middle of a rainforest
The entire space is absolutely amazing. There's a ton of room, a hot tub to wind down at the end of a day exploring, and plenty of nature to enjoy right there for when you're not feeling up to exploring. If you have an early riser in the group, the property is great to hang out on while waiting for the others to wake. The lanai is wonderful, though we didn't end up making much use of it. There are some friendly geckos and anoles that hang around and are fun to watch, along with a variety of other creatures near the river. The beds were very comfortable, and the place was ideal for leaving some of the windows open all night, even when raining -- including the doors in master bedroom. Between the river and the rain, it was very peaceful to fall asleep to. Even when it stormed one night, we left them open to enjoy being in the midst of it all. The kitchen is fully loaded with appliances/utensils, if you're not looking to eat out. There are also many fruit trees on the property, so you may be in for quite a treat depending on if they're bearing fruit. Gano and Steve also left a great guide with suggestions on what to do on the north side of Kauai. We split our 6-day stay on this island between here and Poipu, partially due to the south supposedly being more sunny/dry (it wasn't -- they were equally wet, on/off every day) and had more fun on the north side and at this property, despite the Poipu property being a different type of amazing. It's definitely more resort-like and touristy in that area, so when planning your trip, keep that in mind.
