House, 4 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 12 Sleeps

This charming A Frame home is conveniently located between Traverse City and Suttons Bay! With four bedrooms, it is a perfect spot for large families or two families who wish to share. Situated on 32 very private acres, you'll enjoy panoramic views of West Grand Traverse Bay and the countryside. The recently repainted Chalet has a glass enclosed sun porch...a great place to work on a puzzle, read a book, or enjoy the sunrise. Please enjoy the complimentary bottle of local wine upon your arrival!

You’ll want to visit the many local wineries along M-22 and enjoy not only the wine, but also their views and atmosphere. Take advantage of the surrounding golf courses and nearby boat launches on both Lake Leelanau and West Bay. Fishing charters and rentals are available in nearby beach towns. You’ll also want to take the drive to the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore for fun on the beaches, biking and incredible views. The Leelanau Bike Trial connecting Traverse City and Suttons Bay is less than a mile from the property. In addition Boughey Park with its own sandy beach is just at the bottom of the hill and road that slope down from the chalet. Take a short drive to Suttons Bay or Traverse City...explore our towns, they're fabulous with lots of shopping, art and dining. There always seems to be a music, art or wine or beer festival happening in one of the nearby communities.

In the fall, Leelanau County is a popular destination for color tours, wine tasting, dining, golf or just a long relaxing weekend get away. Spring, summer or fall we are located in the middle of all northern Michigan has to offer all in a secluded, natural setting.

This home rents on a weekly basis from Saturday - Saturday during peak summer weeks.

the door handle fell off

  • 2 of 5
We arrived at 9:30pm, it was dark and cold. As soon as we put the key in the door the whole door handle fell off, leaving us standing outside in the cold with no light. We called the emergency number to Traverse Area Vacation Rentals and left a message, but received no call back. Luckily we were able to jimmy the door and get inside, but could not lock the door for the night. 12 hours later we still had not heard from the rental office and found we had no hot water. It was a couple more hours before we were finally able to get someone on the phone, then another couple hours before they had someone to the house to make all the necessary repairs. We are again waiting to hear back from the office to hear what they will be doing to rectify the situation. We expect to be compensated for all of this trouble. We will update this review after hearing from the office and finding out what they are willing to do.

Comfortable and Spacious

  • 4 of 5
I was impressed with all of the space this place had and that it had a garage. It was very peaceful and a good location not too far from Traverse City or Sutton's Bay. Also, there were many wineries nearby :) My bed was comfortable, a few of the others a little hard. The driveway was a little scary in some spots. Overall I had an excellent experience at this place and would rent it again! It had everything I needed and more!

  • Interior: The main floor of the chalet features a bedroom with a queen size bed, a full bathroom, laundry facilities, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room. The sun porch has large windows, amazing views, and a full size futon for extra guests. We offer internet, a TV with limited cable and a DVD player. The upstairs has a bedroom with two full size beds, another bedroom has one full size bed and a rollaway, and the fourth bedroom has two twin beds. There is a half bath upstairs as well. We’re not fancy, but we do offer a great place with everything you need for your family to enjoy and build lasting memories. All at a reasonable price! Exterior: The chalet is reached by driving through the woods, along an orchard and then climbing to the chalet. At the top you will find ample parking, breath-taking views of the bay, and clean, fresh air. With 32 acres, there are trails to explore through the woods and plenty of room for the kids and pets to romp. At night build a cozy fire in the fire pit, gaze at the bay and stars. You can even make s’mores for the kids or have a cookout using the charcoal grill.
