About the Owner

Catharine operated 'Old Mil House Bed and Breakfast' in Eatonville, Wa, pioneering many B & B Traditions..Theme Rooms (F Scott Fitzgerald, Lucky Lindy, Isadorah Duncan, Bessie Smith, Murder Mysteries (you had to wear a costume to breakfast, if only a hat) and great food. We purchased our first vacation rental in 1999, 'A River Runs Through It' on Scenic Hwy 2 near Stevens Pass for our own escape from our video production/graphic design business in Seattle. Catharine put A River Runs Through It on the internet in 1999. Within 2 months we could not get in and purchased 2 more properties, Grey Fox in Index, 7 miles from RRTI and 2 cabins on Puget Sound. Great was born.

A gem for a family vacation!

  • 5 of 5
A perfect retreat for a family outing! We rented the same Copper Creek Lodge twice: ten years ago and now with our son's family and their 7 year old twins. What a delight!
The Copper Creek cabins are clustered around spacious perfectly well kept grounds, bordered by the pristine babbling copper creek. The cabins are clean, well appointed and the kitchen so well equipped that we decided to stay in for all meals - even though the cozy Copper Creek Inn, a part of the compound, is just around the corner with its most tempting menu. Everything is so well done and managed in a friendly and unobtrusive way.We can't think of a more attractive log cabin vacation spot, just minutes from the Rainier Park entrance to Paradise. Would we come back? Of course. Would we recommend it for other families? We have already done so and will continue to sing Copper Creek's praises! Wolfgang and Francesca Mack and our most appreciative family.

Wonderful place for groups!

  • 5 of 5
We were a group of ten fiber enthusiests who stayed in Cabin Creek Lodge for two nights. The lodge had everything we needed- including a hot tub. It was a memorable time and we all wished we could stay another night- or two! I think this trip will become an annual event!

From the Owner

In 2001, we were looking for a property at Mt. Rainier to complete the triangle featuring Washingtons premier destinations in the Cascade Mountains and Puget Sound. Copper Creek, we learned, was not only beautiful, peaceful, sun drenched in summer, snow blessed in winter, but also had the cleanest air and best tasting water we ever experienced. Copper Creek was also famous for its salmon, trout, steaks, homemade bread and blackberry pie,
