About the Area

The apartment is conveniently located 3 blocks from the beach/boardwalk, 3 blocks from the bay, and 2 blocks from downtown.

Head east down 12th street for 3 blocks and you’ll reach the boardwalk. To the south on the boardwalk, you’ll have 1 mile of open boardwalk with no stores. To the north you’ll have rides, arcades, food stores, and shops for about ½ mile and then about another ½ mile of open boardwalk. The beach is accessible anywhere from the boardwalk with Life Guard stations located every block.

Head west down 12th street for 3 blocks and you’ll reach a covered fishing pavilion. This is a public pavilion where you can fish and crab on the bay. They is also parking and fishing piers located off of the 9th street bridge

Head North down Asbury and you’ll be in the downtown area of Ocean City. Here you’ll find shops and of course, more places to eat.

About the Apartment

1223 is the top unit of a 2-unit condo. Another family member owns the bottom unit. Parking is in the rear of the unit off an alley that is between Asbury and Central Avenues. There is one parking spot behind the garage. There is another spot in the garage but will only accommodate a compact car. Parking is available on the streets surrounding the apartment. Most prefer to leave the garage for storage of bikes, strollers, and other beach items. There are 6 beach chairs, an umbrella, boggie boards, and beach cart on the 1223 side of the garage that can be used. The outside stairs to the unit on the south side of the house accessible on a well lighted walkway.

The great room is the main gathering place in the apartment. It is a combination kitchen, dining room, and family room. The kitchen has all the items needed to prepare and serve meals. The dining room table comfortably seats 8 people. The front porch is accessible via to sliding doors from the great room. It only gets direct sun late in the afternoon. There are several rockers and a small table on the porch.

The hallway off the Great Room leads to the bedrooms. The hall bathroom is on this hallway as well as the washer and dryer. The Master Bedroom has a queen size bed, private bathroom and access to a rear balcony via a sliding door. Bedroom #2 has a pyramid bed, which is a standard on the bottom and a single on top. It also has access to the rear balcony. Bedroom #2 has a standard bed. All bedrooms have TVs.

There are four Ocean City beach tags include in the rental fee. Additional beach tags can be purchased at 12th street and the boardwalk. The weekly tags are $10. If you are a veteran you can obtain a free season pass at the Municipal Building (9th and Asbury) with proof of service.
