Best relaxation therapy yet!

  • 4 of 5
Very nice log cabin! Nicely decorated with comfortable rustic furnishings that looked just right for the setting. VERY clean! Descriptions was very accurate. The neighbors on either side are pretty close, so if you are looking for a lot of privacy, this may not be the best place. If you are looking for a warm, comfortable atmosphere with plenty to do around the area, then this place is perfect!
We were unable to enjoy the water due to it being too cold when we were there, however, I would love to return with the kids in the summer months so that we could enjoy the beautiful lake!!
Scott was a pleasure to work with...very personable!
I would HIGHLY recommend Shirley's In The Woods Diner on M-72 and Bear Lake Road! Excellent hostess and excellent food....especially the homemade bread!

Week of Solitude

  • 5 of 5
The cabin was very clean and well decorated. It had everything we needed, and I loved the wood stove! My husband and I really enjoyed the quietness of the cabin and the sorroundings. The lake is beautiful and many mornings and evenings it was like glass, excellent for kayaking. The location was great as it was not to far to Traverse City for some fun things to do. I would highly recommend this cabin for some great R and R. We plan on returning! Thanks

Great Lake Retreat!

  • 5 of 5
It is a gorgeous, meticulously maintained log cottage home! We all enjoyed the lake at the back door. The children were able to play in the lake & swim, fish catch minnows. We loved the surrounding towns including Kalkaska, Elk Rapids and Traverse City. The children enjoyed the spillway swimming in Elk Rapids and the beach. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation rental for all of us. The owner was very professional and responsive. We would definately recommend the rental for everyone.

Serenity of a Lake Vacation

  • 5 of 5
The description of the rental cottage, pictures, and amenities was very accurate. The property is nicely decorated and well-maintained. Everyone we met around the cottage was welcoming and helpful. A gas/convenience store was close by for the newspaper or immediate necessities. The town of Kalkaska, with several restaurants, gas stations & large grocery store, was approximately 6 miles away, with Traverse City being around 34 miles. All kinds of shopping, baseball stadium, & water sports available in Traverse City.

The property manager was excellent in contacting us via phone or e-mail, providing great customer service. The property and contract reflect his professionalism. We had a wonderful stay in Kalkaska. Lake Manistee is serene and peaceful. If you enjoy a get-away from the hustle and bustle of life, we highly recommend this vacation destination.
