Welcome to The Blue Heron - A premier vacation home on the rugged

Mendocino Coast. This home is the perfect place for your family

reunion, a gathering of friends, or as a romantic getaway for just

the two of you.

Situated minutes from Mendocino Village, this newly remodled home is

tastefully appointed with high-vaulted ceilings, large picture

windows, a wood burning stone fireplace, granite and marble

countertops, top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, and a

second fireplace above the master whirlpool bath!

The two story open floor plan promotes communication between the

kitchen, dining, living, and entertainment areas. The large well-

stocked kitchen offers all the amenities you could want. Old and

new kids alike can escape downstairs to the recreation room and play

a board game, play one of 100 games on a commercial grade arcade

machine, watch a movie, or surf the wireless high-speed

internet.

Whitewater vistas are afforded from almost every room. Spend the

day observing the abundant wildlife through the picture windows or

watching the Pacific Ocean crash onto the rocks. Relax in the

outdoor hot tub and listen to the sounds of the ocean while you gaze

up at the stars. Watch one of the many movies provided on the

widescreen TV with surround sound, play a board game, start a

puzzle, or simply enjoy a good book.

If you prefer to venture out; stroll or bike to nearby Russian Gulch

State Park with its lush fern gullies, small beach, and waterfalls.

Mendocino Village is only a three minute drive south with wonderful

shops and some of the finest cuisine in California. Historic Fort

Bragg, just ten minutes north, is home to the famous Skunk Train,

miles of oceanfront walking, biking, and horseback riding.

Enjoy the best that the North Coast has to offer in this Mendocino

Gem. Don't let the chance slip away for you to reserve this

wonderful new home before it books up for the season.

The Blue Heron was a wonderful place for a long-dreamed of family gathering. We hoped it would be as great as it was described and we were certainly not disappointed. It was beautiful and had everything we needed and the location between Mendocino and Fort Bragg allowed us to enjoy all the activities we had planned. The Blue Heron was a perfect place for the gathering of our families and the making of wonderful memories in this lovely home by the sea.

Wedding weekend

  • 5 of 5
This property is exactly what you see in the photos. It's very clean and well kept. Quiet, peaceful and a beautiful view. We had 5 adults and 2 children for a weekend wedding at Pt. Cabrillo Lighthouse. It was close by everything, ie: reception in Caspar and activities in Mendocino village. The two couples, plus a single had their own room and the children loved sleeping on their own futons in the game room downstairs. The owners are very nice people to work with, very professional. The Wednesday before our arrival there was a big catastrophe, the water heater and furnace going out meaning no hot water and no heat. The owners tried finding us another place to stay in Mendocino Village, but was everything was booked (3 weddings that weekend) and another house for us to look at online in Ft. Bragg. They offered us a 50% discount to stay if we wanted to. After looking up the house in Ft. Bragg, it was not close to Blue Heron quality, we opted to stay without hot water. We survived and glad we did, it's a beautiful home and you'll love staying there.

Great Location

  • 5 of 5
We spent 5 great days at the Blue Heron. The listing and photos accurately describe the property although we found it to be more open and spacious than expected. Mendocino was charming and breakfast at the Mendocino Hotel was
superb. We enjoyed a four mile hike to the waterfall in Russian Gulch State Park near the entrance to the neighborhood. Everything was conveniently located, food market, shopping, restaurants, Parks to explore and coastal views galore. Saundra was very helpful with local information and was available by phone to answer any questions.

Spectacular ocean views and solitude

  • 5 of 5
Our family spent the most wonderful 4 nights at the beautifully appointed and situated Blue Heron home. From most every window in this lovely home we had the treat of seeing the ocean and while sitting on the deck we could hear the waves. The Blue Heron gave each family member the luxury of individual space while at the same time creating cozy spaces for the family to share time together. My husband and son loved playing with the unique, in-house arcade game (really fun and special!) while I took fabulous baths in the deep soaking tub next to the fireplace in the master bath and later joined my daughter to read books on the sofa by the majestic windows overlooking the ocean. The proximity to the town of Mendocino was perfect while still giving us the wonderful feeling of being remote and truly in nature. The Blue Heron is a gem and we look forward to returning!
