Guestbook comments from the owner

We upgraded the couches downstairs as well as brought in brand new mattresses in both beds and a new BBQ. The place is beautiful and quiet.

Cozy, clean and comfortable cabin with a daily visit from a deer family!

  • 5 of 5
We booked this cabin for seven nights in June. We are a family of four including two teens, 13 & 17. We were pleasantly pleased with the accommodations. This is our third time to book through VRBO and have been satisfied with each experience. Owners responded in a timely manner and answered questions or concerns and provided us with enough information for our stay.

The cabin was very clean and smelled good when we arrived. There was plenty of space here for our family to spread out. The second bedroom was about the same size as the master (or pictured bedroom) and the loft space is more than ample. The cabin looks exactly as pictured, but it is not as secluded as it appears. However, since it's on a cul-de-sac it was very quiet, there was no traffic, and we only saw a couple of the neighbors come and go. The cabin was well equipped with everything you need to cook meals. Many spices have been left by owner and/or previous visitors. There was plenty of supplies to sustain or at least get your visit started: laundry detergent, trash bags, dish soap, hand soap and a few rolls of toilet paper were there for use. We brought a cooler with a few things in it, so thankfully we were able to hold off on getting our groceries until the next day. There were plenty towels, wash cloths, extra blankets in the closets and a box fan if needed - which we did use in one of the bedrooms at night, but we also brought one with us. There was always hot water too, for a nice shower at the end of a long day of hiking.

We had a daily morning and evening visit from a doe and two fawns. They came through their little path like clock work. We are definitely missing that since we've been home. There were also a few interesting birds who came to visit in the trees. The temperature was wonderful!! Since we are in 90s to low 100s here at home it was a welcome change. We visited the Lava cave, saw Sahalie Falls, visited Sisters and went on a few hikes in the area. Overall had a very enjoyable experience.

We trekked almost 4700 miles in the car by the end of our trip, but it was worth it to see such beautiful countryside. Staying at such a lovely log home was a definite bonus!!! I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in a comfortable, well equipped log home.

My family stayed at the cabin for two nights. We loved the cabin itself. The design is really wonderful and warm. We really liked the ambiance of the fireplace and few pieces of log furniture as well. The neighbors were closer than we expected, but it was pretty quiet during our stay and we really enjoyed seeing deer one morning. Unfortunately, the rest of the cabin did not live up to our expectations. We were very disappointed in the furnishings of the house. With the exception of the log furniture, the furniture seemed very old and poor quality for a rental. The couches downstairs and in the loft were uncomfortable to sit on which made it difficult for us to enjoy the fireplace and watching TV as a family. The beds were also uncomfortable - the mattress in the beautiful room with the log bed was especially bad with one side visibly sunken in. I haven't stayed in very many rental homes and don't know if the quality of this one is standard and I've just stayed at a few exceptional rentals. But I can say that the others I've stayed at were in the same price range and I was very happy with those rentals. I contacted the owners to let them know we were disappointed after returning and and they were responsive. I hope that they will make some changes to the cabin because I think that it could be a really nice rental if they do.

What a wonderful relaxing place to stay while in the area. So much more private than those more congested placed. Architecture detail is just amazing. Everything you need is in this very modern cabin. We stayed there two days to be able to travel South to Crater Lake. So was very convenient for us. Owner so very helpful and caring. Cooking meals in the cabin is so convenient everything you need it already there. Front porch very relaxing place to just sit and chill. So if you are in the area make sure you try this amazing cabin.

Activity and Interests

Central Oregon is the recreational playground of the Northwest!

Mt. Batchelor is minutes away, you can walk to the Deschutes river

from the cabin. There is skiing, hiking, fishing, boating, and as

many other activities as you can think of near the cabin.

Sunriver Resort is less than 3 miles away, and you can use their

bike trails, shops, grocery store, restaurants, gas station, medical

facility, etc.

High desert museum is nearby and is more like going to the zoo

than a museum. It is well worth the time! Or explore the lava caves

also nearby.
