Wonderful stay at Casabellini

  • 5 of 5
We stayed in the smaller cottage, Casabellini, for 4 nights. It's fairly new having been restored from a former barn around 2006. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans, utinsels and dishware. The bathroom (1) is large, new and well designed. We just stayed in the queen-sized bedroom and found it large, pretty, comfortable and importantly: quiet!
Owners Marzia and Renzio stopped by several times with dessert and assistance in navigating the area. Both were incredibly helpful to first time drivers in Italy. Marzia can cook/bake wonderfully! They really made the stay perfect.
Navigating here was a slight issue for us. I finally figured out to program in the GPS "Toiano", with any street it gave me. We came down from San Gimignano and the GPS then got us to where Marzia's written directions took over.
I'd book this place again in a minute. It's great for peace and quiet (except for an errant donkey bray or geese honking) and wonderful for sitting on the covered patio with a glass of vino and looking out over the fields. A welcome respite after a jam-packed sightseeing schedule.
Thank you, Marzia and Renzio. We will remember this forever!

Casabella

  • 5 of 5
I Just returned home from a two week vacation to Italy. It was my fourth time to Italy, my second time renting a Villa and the first time for my wife and two children. It was very important that my wife of four years and her children loved Italy as much as I do because I want to go back as much as possible. Well that plan was achieved, thanks in great part to our one week stay at Casabella. First the owners are the greatest, most accommodating, and helpful people I've ever dealt with. Before my arrival I expressed and interest in some of the local wine, olive oil or cheese tastings. Marzia the owner set up the most amazing Truffle hunt and tasting for us as well as another tasting at the end of our week of local authentic Tuscan food. I cant tell you how much fun we had and how stuffed we were. Some of the pluses to this house besides its beautiful decorated and restored exterior and interior was being centrally located for everything its about fifteen minutes to Sienna and very close to Chianti, Pienza, Montelchino, and an hour by car or train to Florence. The countryside is filled with sunflowers and grape vines and olive trees everywhere. We went for a walk the first day and discovered all sorts of cute little hamlets and old buildings everywhere. We will always cherish our trip to Casabella and our wonderful time With the owners Marzia and Lorenzo, and are already planning our return as soon as possible. I couldn't recommend Casabella more highly It was an experience we will never forget.

April in Casa Bella

  • 5 of 5
We arrived at Casa Bella in late March with perfect weather, a beautiful villa with amazing views from the large windows, and the owners welcoming and helpful.

This is a great location for seeing the historic towns of Tuscany. Siena, Volterra, Montepulciano, as well as Pisa, San Gimignano, and Florence are easy day trips. We even returned back to the villa after seeing Venice before spending Easter in Rome.

On your way north from Rome, we recommend you exit the AI highway at Orvieto and take the S2 route to Siena. That road is majestic. Don't forget your camera!

The 3br, 2ba villa is a centuries old structure that has been carefully restored by the owner in true Tuscan style...beamed ceilings, tiled floors, archways with antique bricks. It is well equipped, tastefully decorated, spacious and very comfortable.

How fortunate we feel to have found this special spot and wish to return again.

Excellent stay at Casabella!

  • 5 of 5
Casabella was the perfect villa for our 1-week stay in Tuscany. The owners are extremely welcoming and made us feel comfortable immediately. The pictures on VacationRentals.com as well as the owner's web site are an accurate depiction of the villa. The views from the house and surrounding area are spectacular.

The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay (towels, sheets, blankets, dishes, ...) The pool was still opened but it was too cold to use it during our stay. Make sure you ask where the firewood is if you're staying during some cold months, since the fireplace is perfect for those colder evenings.

The house is 5 minutes away from Rosia, a larger village with a very well stocked grocery store. A 15-minute drive outside of Siena, the villa was the perfect base for visiting many hill towns in Tuscany (Montereggioni, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Volterra, ...) The owners also provide some maps and information on their region. A car with a GPS was invaluable for us, but I can't comment on how easy it would be to get around without a car.

All in all, I would recommend this villa to families and groups interested in a clean and comfortable place to stay with all the amenities needed for self-catering. Casabella was a great home away from home!
