This lovely one bedroom Island Retreat offers 180 Degree of

unobstructed ocean and sunset views.

From here you can watch Whales in Winter time, lovely sunsets and

waves crushing against the shoreline all year long.

The ocean is just 60 feet away from this building.

This location is close to many activities like swimming, surfing,

snorkeling, jogging, walking, shopping and dining.

A tennis court , basket ball court and volleyball court are very close by and free

of charge.Just bring your tennis rackets.

You won't need a car to get around and enjoy those many activities.

This comfortable and spacious vacation home has been newly upgraded and renovated This unit is view oriented so that you are able to watch the ocean from your King bed in the romantic Master bedroom, from the fully equipped kitchen, the living room and from the sun deck (with lounge chairs and dining area.

There is a new and very comfortable all leather bedcouch in the livingroom for one or 2 additional guests.

2 full bathrooms (also just updated with granite counters) ad to your comfort and privacy.

This majestic, solid building offers a large pool, elevator, assigned and parking space plus free WIFI

This has been our third visit to Marianna's condo at Kona Alii and we also stayed

in her condo at the Banyan Tree.

Both condos have been well kept and one can feel the love and care in both of them.

Kona Alii is still our favorite because of the location alone.

Since we have stayed on the Big Island may times we are mostly interested in relaxing at the condo, walking into town for meals, coffee and to shop for fruits and veggies at the farmers market.

The condo is very, very comfortable and one can watch the waves from the deck as well as people strolling by without them watching us.

The pool and the grilling area is very nice as well.

Thai has been a perfect vacation without the use of a car. Each day we walked over to the farmers market for some fresh produce, we checked our e mail right next to the condo and we even played tennis whenever we felt like it in the public tennis court. Jeff would just walk out ot the condo, looked over to the tennis court and came back to to get me and the rackets, great.
We took the tour bus around the island
which also stopped by the Volcano.
Thank you for lsetting us stay in this wonderful, spaciour and comfortable condo.

Decent experience with some issues

  • 4 of 5
* Location/View: In the heart of Kona as advertised. The view from the lanai is absolutely incredible, probably the best I had the whole trip. We were about 1-2 blocks away from a few amazing breakfast places - Lava Java, and (our favorite) Java on the Rock, and Ali'i drive was wonderful to walk in the mornings

* Interior: The living room and kitchen was newly remodeled and generally very nice. However, the light in the entry was incredibly dim and so wasn't helpful for coming in at night. Some other lights such as in the laundry room were pretty dim as well making it difficult to do anything there at night. We were glad to have a washer and dryer in the condo, but be advised that it's a really tiny unit so you will be doing a lot of loads of laundry!

* Sleeping Experience: I was not as happy with the bedroom. The master bathroom has a frosted glass window connecting to the bedroom, so if you have to go to the bathroom at night you light up the bedroom potentially waking up your partner. Also, there was a window in the bedroom leading out to the lighted condo walkway with only sheer curtains blocking it, so it was impossible to make the bedroom dark enough to sleep. Finally, the mattress was kind of uncomfortable, and the sheets and room did not smell super clean.

* Internet: Internet was provided but we were getting dial-up types of speeds, with intermittent access. We were better off using the 4G from our phones (Verizon, decent LTE signals here).

* Overall: For the price, this is overall a good unit considering the location. That said, don't come here if you or your partner are sensitive to light or smell when sleeping.

Owner's Response: INTERIOR LIGHTING? I personally checked this out and it has a 45 watt energy saving light bulb inside the hallway,
I have slept in this bedroom many times and the lightning never bothered me. The window is up high over the bed so no one can look in but I will install a dark shade inside the bedroom to accommodate the more sensitive sleepers.

TINY UNIT? I hope that you don't mean to complain about the size of this condo? because unit is spacious and comfortable.
If you are complaining about the size of the washer and dryer than yes, it is not full size
It is a washer/dryer stack for a vacation rental, not for a family household,

Nice pool. Close to a lot of activity. Easy access to the island and the beaches. Many restaurants to choose from. Dolphins play in front. Good price and a place to return to. Wifi was a nice touch. Loved it.

Amazing location, beautiful view

Coming in from our outings, walking in the door, and seeing the gorgeous ocean right outside was so amazing. When I read other reviews saying the location was walking distance to places, I wondered if it really was for my son who really doesn't like to walk far. The first day I found a good ocean-front breakfast place online and found out it was literally next door! It really is an excellent location and you really do not need a car to travel within the town. And the owner was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely rent here again!

a great find, such a view

We stayed for a week and will book this condo again. Located in the lively part of Kona there are many shops and restaurants right by the condo so we only used the car for day trips and we bought our produce at a daily farmers market that is about a block from the condo. We tried a few restaurants within a block of the condo and liked all of them: the Thai Rin Restaurant, Lava Java and Bubba Gumps. The unit was very clean and modern with a remodeled kitchen and bathrooms and it is a big help that the unit has a washer and dryer in the unit so we were able to pack lightly.
The view from the Lanai is outstanding. We saw turtles and yellow tangs just looking down from the Lanai and one morning we watched a pod of spinner dolphins feeding and jumping.
We went swimming and snorkeling at the beach at the Kamakahonu National Historic Landmark a couple of times, walking rather than driving over there because it was so close.

Fantastic Location

Fantastic Location within walking distance to EVERYTHING! Right next to Lava Java, a perfect place for morning breakfast and coffee and evening dinners and live music, a short walk Hugo's on the Rocks and Don the Beachcombers for lunches and dinners. You could not ask for a better location on th Kona coast. There is no end to the places you can shop and eat at within a short walk. You can see the ships in the harbor and everything that's going on, it's an easy walk to the docks of Kona Town. We had a great time and would love to stay there again.
