The Moosehead Hideaway is a four-season luxury vacation rental in Maine's majestic wilderness. Moosehead Lake's intricate shoreline of coves, beaches and islands provide a spectacular setting for an endless variety of outdoor activities.

The Moosehead Hideaway is a tastefully decorated custom built 3-bedroom Lindal Cedar Home located 30 feet from the shore of Moosehead Lake. This home offers guests superior scenic lake and mountain views, from the comforts of the master-bedroom loft to the private dock. Enjoy long afternoons on the spacious wrap-around deck, or take one of our kayaks or canoe for a trip to the restaurants and shops in downtown Greenville, a picturesque four-season mountain resort town.

The fully equipped kitchen offers guests every possible amenity needed to cook their favorite gourmet meals. An outdoor Weber charcoal grill is also provided for a cookout, as well as a copper fire-pit for roasting marshmellows while enjoying the sunset on Moosehead Lake.

The open living and dining area offers floor to ceiling window views of the lake, a gas fireplace, and a flatscreen TV with Cable/HBO/DVD player.

Enjoy a restful night in the spacious master-bedroom loft-suite with a brand-new pillow top queen bed, sitting/reading area, walk-in closet, private bathroom, and TV with DVD player.

(*Dear Prospective Renters: It recently came to our attention that our neighbor is planning on constructing a new home on the next-door lot, that had previously been undeveloped. The project planned is a relatively small one – a 2-bedroom/800 sq. ft. cottage. The initial steps were already completed in the Fall of 2014 (site preparation, grading, and foundation construction). To our knowledge no further work has been completed to date (April 17, 2015). We estimate that the next step of “framing” the home would likely take less than a week, given the size of the project. The following steps thereafter would most likely be interior work. The owner of the lot is an off-site/second-home owner & we have been unable to reach them to obtain precise details regarding their intended timeline for the project. It is entirely possible that they may have wanted to complete the initial steps to this project to secure their footing before any potential zoning restrictions are enacted, and don’t plan on completing the project in the near future, or even this year. However, it is impossible for us to know for sure.

Please be assured that this project is located on a lot next to ours, and does not physically involve the use of any of the Moosehead Hideaway property. Additionally, it does not interfere with or obstruct any of our gorgeous lake & mountain views. However, there is a possibility for some daytime noise due to the nature of the project.

As both vacation-home renters and owners, we are sensitive to the fact that noise affects different people differently; what might be considered bothersome to one may be viewed as untroubling to another. The Moosehead Hideaway has been fully booked during the peak summer season for the past 10 years, due in part to our wonderful amenities, but also due to the fact that we take great care in considering our guests’ enjoyment of our lake house.

In light of the possibility of construction noise during a renter’s stay, we are maintaining discounted rates during the peak 2015 Summer season ($2,400/wk as opposed to $2,600/wk), and are also offering our guests an additional discount (if needed) of a refund of $75 per day for every day that active construction noise substantially interferes with their enjoyment of the Moosehead Hideaway property during their stay.*)
