About the Owner

Born and raised right here in Tucson. We have raised our 3 children and now have 4 beautiful grandchildren. I designed the casita in 2003 in a way that would be functional, enjoyable and as private as possible for our guests to enjoy. I own and operate a local banquet hall & wedding chapel and have also been in the real estate business for nearly 20 years. I enjoy both jobs and meeting new people. In my spare time I play volleyball whenever possible.

Comfortable Casita in Suburban Tucson

  • 4 of 5
The pictures and description were right on. Beds are comfy, great water pressure, nice sized shower, private back porch. Perfect for 2 people with a dog. We had 4 people part of the time and it was a little tight but workable.

It was our first trip to Tucson and we were surprised to find that is was big and sprawling. Casa Del Sol is basically in a north west suburb with plenty of shopping and restaurants a short drive away - plus a wonderful church- St Marks and golf course - Crooked Tree. It is also within a 20 minute drive to some beautiful hiking at Catalina State Park and Pima Canyon. Many other sites are 30-90 minutes away- a lot more hiking and golf courses, downtown Tucson, Sabina Canyon, national parks, the airport etc.

Deannie was helpful and friendly when we needed her- which wasn't often.

While the kitchen has all the basics- plus crock pot and a few other handy items- we found (like at other VRBO rentals) only dull knives, scratched Teflon frying pans, missing pot lids, sliding screen door that won't stay on track.

Overall, we loved Tucson and plan to go again. We would recommend staying at Casa Del Sol.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and bringing it to our attention about he dull knives and old pans. We are going to purchase a new set of pans for the casita and take care of the dull knives and sliding screen door. We appreciate you staying with us and look forward to seeing you in the future.

Great casita for a small family and dogs!

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I (with our two dogs) loved this place. Deanie was great even though I erased many of her programs on her DVR. We share Direct TV with the main house and I didn't realize that I was erasing her programs - sorry again, Deanie. The street is very quiet but very close to almost any shopping or restaurant you want - most within a couple of miles.

My dogs loved the fenced in back yard and they spent most of their time lounging the sun or shade as the back porch was covered and shade was available all day long. Lizards, quail, and jack rabbits kept them occupied as they frequently visited the back yard.

The casita was designed to be easily maintained and was well appointed. Bedrooms shared a Jack and Jill bathroom and kitchen was adequate for the two of us.

We loved our stay and are coming back this year.

A Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5
The Casa Del Sol was the perfect get-away for my husband and myself while traveling to see our son in Tucson. Deanie was exceptionally helpful and was available to answer any and all questions promptly, while at the same time she left us entirely alone to enjoy our vacation in private. I am accompanied by a service dog, a Labrador, and we travel with another Labrador and the space and fenced-in backyard was perfect to allow them some freedom to move about.

The Casita is exactly as it is pictured here. It was spacious, clean and tidy, with beautiful touches of the Southwest sprinkled through-out. The location is not far from shopping and restaurants and sits in a VERY quiet neighborhood, but is just far enough away from the busy city noises and lights. We sat outside in the evenings sipping wine and never felt as if we were in a neighborhood at all. I practiced Tai Chi in the early mornings, among the bunnies that roamed into the yard and it was peaceful and serene. The great room kitchen and living space was perfect for preparing a meal and spending time with our son and daughter-in-law at the Casita.

Our deposit was sent in the mail to us the day we checked out and we received it within just a few days.

We look forward to returning to Casa Del Sol in the future.

Great for a week

  • 5 of 5
Our 2nd time to stay there. Perfect for our week of shopping, tourism and Dr appts in Tucson. Our 2 dogs loved it and having a dog friendly place with a fenced back yard made it so easy. This kitchen is completely equipped and the furnishings are great. Wonderful neighborhood for walking, convenient to shopping, the freeway etc.

We will stay there again and highly recommend it. Deannie has it decorated beautifully.

From the Owner

This property is very convienent to just about everything anyone would need but because it shares a 1.3 acre lot with the main house it feels like it is in a very rural setting and you get the true feeling of living in the desert without being too far from town. Located less than a mile from major shopping, dining, cinemas and more. Bring your best friend and take long walks on the paved streets.

Great location! Feel like your in a rural area when your actually blocks away from shopping, dining and more. Get the true feel of living in the desert with views of the cottontails, coyote, quail, bobcats & Javelina's traveling through. (They are fun to see, but never get close enough to worry about) I have lived in this area for 25+ years although my grandparents lived here for 30 before that. Its a very safe area and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
