Guestbook comments from the owner

For several years, we have visited this cabin and have come to consider it our mountain home away from home. We first visited when we were dating... then engaged... then married. It is a very special place to us. We have enjoyed both the cabin and the Lake Glenville/Cashiers area year round. Great paddling, hiking and shopping are minutes away. Owner Christine Prime takes great care in creating a home that is warm, comfortable and charming. You won't find a better hostess. The creek, mountain road and barn across the street all create the perfect setting. Oh -- and the hot tub -- a fantastic feature! We always hate to leave and plan our next trip as we pull out of the driveway. Keep Coming Back! Kara & Mike

Words cannot describe the tranquility here!

I called owner, Christine, as we were driving to the area. We needed an affordable place to stay for that night and the next. I knew it was last minute, but had hoped they would have availability. I saw their web site and it looked so inviting and welcoming. What really caught my eye, beside the property, was their statement: “Can't Afford to stay in our Beautiful Cashiers Area? YES, YOU Can! We're the 'Workin'Class' too and we'd love your visit!: I figured, I had to call!! Well, when I did, I was greeted with such warmth and a willingness to help! I told Christine that even though we had not met yet I felt like I have known her for years! True to their web site, the cabin was all that was described and more! Everything about it was wonderful! All of the other reviews concur with our experience! Truly a mountain gem!!! We will return as soon as possible!

Owner's Response: At times we get 'off the road guests' needing an immediate place to rest after a long hiking day in the famous 'Pantertown Trails' area here off the road where our rental property is located.
Im happy when we have something available to offer!
Sarah and Don arrived and were thrilled about the place, and as she notes, so appreciative of the 'welcoming arrival' they received.
So nice to know fantastic folks that we feel confident 'will continue to make this their favorite vacation spot here in the mountains'! It motivates us to 'keep on doing all we can to honor a stay to our special 'family-like' guests"... Thank you! Christine & Jim

Wonderful weekend stay

  • 5 of 5
We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful rustic cabin. It was very cozy and comfortable. The gas fireplace was wonderful, and our girls loved the hot tub on cold mornings and evenings. Well stocked kitchen made cooking dinner super easy. Close to town (Cashiers) and just up the road from Tom Sawyer Christmas Tree Farm. The perfect spot! We hope to make it an annual tradition!

Our Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5
We have visited this property at least once a year for the past 6 years. It is comfortable and charming with plenty of character. The owner ensures you have everything you need -- just stop by the grocery store, unpack your bags and you're home. The cabin sits in a beautiful, quiet valley, surrounded by meadows, mountains and a wonderful barn across the street. We love the area for its beauty, hiking (plenty of waterfalls!), boating or paddling on Lake Glenville (just up the road!) and delicious restaurants in Cashiers (about 15 minutes away). You can't beat the hot tub after a day of hiking. And the sound of the creek is ever-present. We don't travel to the area to watch TV or use our computers, but there are plenty of channels and consistent WiFi. The owners feel more like family and always find ourselves caring for the cabin as if it were our own. We're looking forward to our next visit -- as soon as we can get back!

Quaint, peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5
Our group of six had a marvelous week in Creekside Cedar Cabin. Our group consisted of retired parents, son and daughter-in-law and two small children. While there, the weather was perfect with mostly sunny days and chilly evenings. The creek was full of water and bubbled right outside the cabin, just below the deck. There was plenty of room for all to have a comfortable bed, with the young couple and children sharing upstairs and grandparents downstairs. The kitchen was fully equipped, just a short run into town for groceries. We especially enjoyed the hot tub each evening under the stars and the chairs and hammocks for reading and watching the little ones play on the spacious property. I loved rocking on the front porch and seeing the occasional car go by. Very rural, but close to Cashiers and only a mile to Lake Glenville. Also not far from numerous hiking paths, waterfalls and picnic spots. Wi-Fi and TV were spotty, but with such a wonderful setting to relax, I didn't miss it.

Owner's Response: Thanks to wonderful guests as Mimi and family since it makes us feel good knowing that 'our efforts' are so appreciated.

When guests relish in comfort, finding all fully equipped, enjoying the hammock, hot tub under the stars, and
rocking chairs on covered porch' ... Well, it's worth the extra mile we go giving these extra provisions.

I must admit this is the 1st time we've had a guest mention WiFi or TV being 'spotty' since WiFi router is a direct line there at the cabin and Direct Satellite TV Pkg is 'Total Choice' exclusively for this cabin. But we'll check on this to assure that no other guest has such an issue. We are on call 24/7 if and when any such problems are encountered and so all in our power to fix ASAP.
Some guests just don't bother calling. But we are happy to serve any and all guests needs :)

UPDATE!!! I just today Aug 23rd 13 came back from cabin and 'guest what'!?!!! Because the apple trees have overgrown, I too got 'spotty service on TV'. We now cut it WAY BACK ... THANK YOU for mentioning this. Although Wifi seem to be 100% !!!

Thanks for beautiful families as MiMi's. The best of guests! C and J
