Our cabin is located about a quarter mile off of Wayah Rd which borders Lake Nantahala . (135 Ridge Top drive, Topton, NC) The roads are all paved to within a quarter mile of the cabin. The drive off Wayah Rd is gravel and has only one turn. This area is quiet, and very private. There are only a couple of cabins above us on the mountain. I have seen kids swimming off the dock. The lake never seems crowded. Usually only a couple of boats in view. Lakes End Cafe/Marina rents boats...it is about a mile from the cabin.

This is at 3,200 feet, so the water is always an emerald green color. The lake also has salmon. (only one on the east coast) I have not fished there yet, but I see bass boats and pontoon boats on the lake. The lake flows into Nantahala Gorge which has a lot of fly fishermen. The Nantahala Outdoor Center is less than a half hour away and you can enjoy rafting in the summer, dining and mountain biking there. The Great Smokey Mountain Railway is less than an hour away in Bryson City. ) The Lakes End Marina rents boats, and we have others in the area that rent boats as well.
