We were stunned. WONDERFUL!!!

Signe,
Your generous offer is such a pleasant surprise. We would love to stay forever. Unfortunately we must leave tomorrow. We are both amazed at what we have just experienced. Although I thought that this cabin was a "bought and paid commodity" for me, I have learned it is far beyond that. This beautiful place is not just a rental but obviously your cherished second home. We recognize that and feel privileged indeed that you will share such a treasure with others.
I have never rented a place that was so utterly, perfectly equipped, perhaps over equipped. We walked in the door and were immediately at home.
We don't want to leave and definitely plan to return. Why would one seek heaven further when it has already been found?
Thank YOU.

You Will Never Want to Leave !!

We have been vacationing in Maggie Valley for several years and stayed in several different rental properties before we found Smoky Sunrise. It is the ONLY place we now even consider staying. If you want to make daytrips to Asheville, Gatlinburg, or Cherokee, the cabin is ideally located. If you like to hike, the Smoky Mtn National Park is an easy hike from the cabin. There are LOTS of trails and logging roads to explore, so you never have to drive to reach a trail head to hike. I personally enjoy watching the sun rise (or set) over the valley from the hot tub on the deck, and the star gazing is amazing, with or without a telescope. At an elevation well over 4000 feet, the temperatures are always comfortable, no matter how hot is may be down below. If you feel the need to stay connected, the wireless is great (take your laptop out on the deck)and there are loads of channels on the satellite television. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a gas grill. (We do leave once to go catch trout for grilling.) In a week, we usually see 1 or 2 vehicles at most.

We always travel with our dog and this year was the first year for our new black lab mix, Junie, to vacation with us. She loved Smoky Sunrise as much as her predecessor, Elvis, did before her. Whether laying outside on the deck, on her bed in front of the floor to ceiling windows in the living room, or experiencing all the new smells on the trails, Junie had a great time. I cannot say enough good things about the property itself, the manager, or the owners. If you are looking for a true mountain retreat, with all the comforts of home, Smoky Sunrise is the place for you.

A+, a view that goes forever!

We have been visiting WNC for over 12 years and have rented this cabin several times. Out of our extensive rental history, nothing compares to this view and mountain location! A truly remote mountain experience where you can walk out the front door and hike up to the parkway in 10 minutes. Each visit we have been lucky enough to watch Elk pass by up the trail next to the cabin - amazing! The home itself is exactly what you would think of for a cabin vacation. The entire place is situated to take in all of the outdoors through those fantastic front windows. Why anyone would choose to stay in a hotel down in the valley when you have all the comforts of home way up high in the cool mountain air here is beyond me. Thank you, once again, for your great hospitality and we will be back!
