Perfect Yosemite Retreat!

  • 5 of 5
SierraScape is a very well appointed, wonderful little cabin just a few miles outside of Mariposa. I stumbled upon this place as I was planning a retreat for my mother and I when she visited this year in Los Angeles. We found the cabin to be exactly as described - honestly cuter and more spacious than the photos show - with wonderful notes and plenty of information for us Yosemite sightseers. Kirsty was very helpful through the booking process and we were excited to find a place my dog Jackson could enjoy as well.
We loved seeing deer from the kitchen window and enjoying our coffee on the deck before the start of our long days in the park. Mariposa is a cute little town too, full of wonderful restaurants and quaint shops - we really enjoyed stopping in town each night on our way back to the rental.
Seriously such a wonderful experience that left us feeling renewed and reenergized by the beauty and nature around us. Will book again.

Amazing retreat in the Western Sierra and awesome hosts!

  • 5 of 5
This place is just awesome - in the way that means awe-inspiring - and the hosts, Kirsty and Jerry are just as great. The booking process was quick and super-professional, and Kirsty was so nice and friendly from the start. They have a way of knowing how to really efficiently manage a property while also being so welcoming and personable - not a common combination. We arrived just after sunset and a fire was ready to be lit and there was jazz playing - I don't even like jazz, but left it on because it was such a sweet gesture! :)
When we awoke the next morning, we were able to take in the true splendor of the place, on the first of four beautiful, crisp, clear fall days filled with lots of hikes, more fires, football, and Thanksgiving. Kirsty and Jerry helped with some hikes for us and our pooches, and were always quick to pick up the phone if we needed anything.
We will be back! Great property, great hosts!

My husband and I shared our anniversary (with our dog) at Sierrascape. Kirsty and Jerry were wonderful and the house is beautiful. A much needed peaceful experience! We had a terrific time looking at the endless stars from the hot tub and really appreciated the close proximity to Yosemite. I would only wish to stay a little longer. I have friends already requesting the information based on the photo's I shared of the endless views from the back deck.

The pictures do not do this wonderful home justice. It is an absolutely delightul and peaceful setting in which to relax and enjoy. The expansive deck has several levels to experience and feel in touch with nature, and to relax in the outdoor hot tub under the stars. The home is lovely with comfortable bedding and an awesome shower. The owners have thought of everythng to anticipate questions and have information readily available. We truly enjoyed our stay here and only wish we had more time to stay longer!!

Quiet and Comfortable Retreat

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I spent a wonderful 4 days at Sierrascape. The weather was perfect -- hot and sunny during the day and cool at night. We made use of the hot tub, the BBQ and the many leveled deck. It was great to sit and watch the many birds surrounding the cottage from larger raptors, to a wild turkey and finches. We were also entertained by lizards on the rocks.
We thoroughly appreciated the private setting with its lovely and unique gardens. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, the shower was great as you felt you were almost outside, and the bed in the master suite was extremely comfortable.
Our only issue was with the heater which was tempermental and often took several tries to get the fan to work.
Highly recommend as a fine base to explore Gold Rush towns and Yosemite.

Dream Honeymoon

  • 5 of 5
Such a cute little place! We spent half our honeymoon here and couldnt have asked for a more secluded and beautiful place. The house is adorable! Just big enough and fully furnished, the two bathrooms and full laundry make it feel just like home. The kitchen was fully furnished and the patio a dream come true to outdoor lovers. Numerous birdfeeders bring birdlife right outside the windows all throughout the day! We spent candlelit nights out on the patio in the hot tub and saw a racoon and a bobcat! The drive to Yosemite is a little far, but not because of the actual mileage but the winding mountain roads. The town of Mariposa has everything you need for your stay as well as some great gift shops and places to eat. I couldnt recommend this place enough for a family trip or a romantic getaway for two! And the owner is awesome she came to jump our rental car when the battery died no questions asked and with lightening speed! Thanks again for such a wonderful and beautiful experience.
